What is meant by a local area network configuration, as opposed to a local area network? or any network configuration for that matter.
What does it refer to exactly?

As it's name would imply, a LAN configuration refers to the parameters that defines the network, such as the network mask, security protocol in use, access control, IP (if a TCP/IP network) address delivery method, etc.
Btw this question is quite vague. If you're looking to know more about networks, you should start by some readings, and could possibly try out some online configuration exemple such as this one

dear friends!
I using multifunction printer Pantum M6507W.
In my opinion, using WPA protocol is not security in current time when exist WPA2-PSK and WPA3-PSK.
And I need change authorization protocol thereby opening a security hole in my wireless networks.
How resolve this problem?
I hope use WPA2-PSK protocol.
In printer settings I don't find how change authorization protocol

My goal is to forward packets from an interface to another interface without source port conflicts using the right feature, NAPT.
I couldn't find how to add a NAPT rule (Network Address Port Translation or also known as PAT) with iptables and nftables.
More interestingly, searching combinations of PAT NAPT iptables/nftables/netfilter doesn't give anything relevant. Even when they mention PAT/NAPT, they do a simple IP masquerading...
Edit
It seems iptables's NAT does implicit port translation... somehow it's obvious for everybody even though it isn't written anywhere.
The definition of NAT is however pretty clear and doesn't include a layer 4 alteration. Whatever...
By using iptables, masquerade is a choice but may not fullfill your goals. The better method is to extend netfilter and iptables by writing your own iptable operation. I do this some years before, here is my github code, hope that can help you.

I have a project and I need to make a building plan with server room etc, so I need to know where to place my router and what do I need to put in my server room besides My servers.
In the image below i placed my Router in my server room but I don't know if that's right
If your system is a wired system then the position of the router is not really important.
But if it is a wireless, the problem become very very very complicated. I have witness the failure of my university trying to solve your problem (i am a victim). If you want to cover your place with WiFi signal then position of WiFi router must be calculated carefully with the involving of physics otherwise you may encounter issues like signal interference, lag, lost signals and so on.

is it possible to set 2 separate ip addresses on a laptop by adding a USB network adaptor?
And if so, which one would you recommend?
Thanks!
You can have as more as network interfaces you want, I don't understand which one would you recommend part, but if I understood correctly I mean, if I suggest USB network adapter at all or not.
USB network adapters are restricted to USB speed, so if you have high speed internet and you want to use it with USB network adapter, it's not possible. I'm talking about 1GB, I think maximum speed you can get from USB network adapter is 300 MBits.

For our company I want to setup a file sharing service such as Dropbox but on our own servers for our corporate information.
It must be only available for employes of our company.
Please suggest me software package.
I suggest you try http://owncloud.org/.
That's what we use in my company and it is quite convenient to sync our working files (similar to what dropbox do), and to share files as well.
Have a look at arXshare (http://www.arxshare.com). You can install it on any server with PHP, it is easy to setup, and it does not require any database and is very lightweight. Furthermore, it does end-to-end encryption, so your shared files on the server are useless without your password.
