Is it possible to search Alfresco Share site members with lucene or fts-alfresco? For example, I would like to find all the site members with lastname "Smith".
Additionally, is it possible to search users that have certain permissions to a site folder or document?
You cannot search site members directly using Lucene, because indexing does not have any data related to that. What you need to do is use siteService to get that information. You can use any of these API.Second one return Map so may be more relevent.
org.alfresco.service.cmr.site.Site.SiteService
listMembers(String shortName, String nameFilter, String roleFilter, boolean collapseGroups, SiteService.SiteMembersCallback callback)
or
listMembers(String shortName, String nameFilter, String roleFilter, int size)
You first need to access all site members using API of siteservice and then iterate over them to get your required users.
I am not sure you can do this with lucene or not, but if you want to find users ,below webscript is usefull.
If you see in below url nf=NameOfUsers parameter specifies name of user.If youare not specifying nf Parameter ,it will return all users.
http://localhost:8080/share/proxy/alfresco/api/sites/demo/memberships?size=250&nf=te&authorityType=USER
For more details of above webscript, you can use below URL.
http://localhost:8080/alfresco/service/script/org/alfresco/repository/site/membership/memberships.get
Yes, it is possible to search Alfresco Share site members with fts-alfresco, because site members belong to an Alfresco group.
For example, the following query returns members of the SWSDP site:
PATH:"/sys:system/sys:authorities/cm:GROUP_site_swsdp//*" AND TYPE:"cm:person"

I am using the Mendeley API to retrieve documents in the profile of a user.
Specifically, I am using this API:
GET https://api.mendeley.com/search/documents?view=all&limit=25&title=ONTOLOGY
I would like to search for all the documents that match a partial term, i.e. instead of the full word "ONTOLOGY" I would like to get the same result if I do an HTTP call like
GET https://api.mendeley.com/search/documents?view=all&limit=25&title=ONTOLO
How can I achieve that?
Should I put any jolly character?
I tried
ONTOLO*
ONTOLO$
ONTOLO?
with no luck.
I haven't found any documentation related to this feature.
Thanks!!
On Rocket.Chat's LDAP configuration page, the helper text for Domain Base states that you should enter (emphasis mine):
The fully qualified Distinguished Name (DN) of an LDAP subtree you want to search for users and groups. You can add as many as you like; however, each group must be defined in the same domain base as the users that belong to it. If you specify restricted user groups, only users that belong to those groups will be in scope. We recommend that you specify the top level of your LDAP directory tree as your domain base and use search filter to control access.
Problem is, I don't know how to enter more than one.
My DN looks like this:
OU=IT,OU=Staff,DC=companyname,DC=local
And I want the following users to also be synced:
OU=Example,OU=Staff,DC=companyname,DC=local
But I don't know how to add them both, as the docs aren't clear, and the source code is even less clear.
I've tried the following ways:
Space separated
Semicolon separated
Ampersand (and double ampersand) separated
Wrapping them up in an array (e.g. ["OU=Example ...", "OU=IT ..."]) and as a JSON object
Pipe (and double pipe) separated
'Plus' separated (e.g. DC=local + OU=Example)
But no matter what I do, it won't sync users. The logs tell me:
Exception while invoking method 'ldap_sync_users' NoSuchObjectError: 0000208D: NameErr: DSID-03100238, problem 2001 (NO_OBJECT), data 0, best match of: at Object.Future.wait (/snap/rocketchat-server/511/node_modules/fibers/future.js:449:15) ...
I know I can set up a group restriction so only users in a certain group will be synced, but the helper text says I can use multiple DNs, and I want to know how to use multiple DNs
After reading RFC-4514, I discovered I should construct my DN like so:
OU=Example+OU=IT,OU=Staff,DC=companyname,DC=local
With the plus occurring between the two OUs I wish to add. Now my users are syncing correctly.
I'm using the google custom search api and want to create a search using the siteSearch:
https://www.googleapis.com/customsearch/v1?key=k&cx=cx&q=cocos2d&siteSearch=www.cocos2d-iphone.org&siteSearchFilter=i
and it works fine (returns all the result only from the given site).
Then I want to specify TWO sites to search so I tried to change the :
siteSearch=www.cocos2d-iphone.org
to
siteSearch=www.cocos2d-iphone.org www.XXXXXXXX.org
siteSearch=www.cocos2d-iphone.org|www.XXXXXXXX.org
siteSearch=www.cocos2d-iphone.org||www.XXXXXXXX.org
but none of these works.
hope someone can help here, thanks:)
Currently I don't believe you can specify more site through the query param siteSearch.
nevertheless you can configure your Custom Search Engine here: https://www.google.com/cse/manage/all
in the "Site to search" area.
This also works for excluding, as you can read here: https://support.google.com/customsearch/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2631038&topic=2601037&ctx=topic
You cannot do this with the as_sitesearch parameter as that only accepts a single value. But you can achieve what you want with the as_q parameter, setting it to some value like: "site:google.com OR site:microsoft.com" - that will work in a similar way to this search.
The as_q parameter is documented here as:
The as_q parameter provides search terms to check for in a document.
This parameter is also commonly used to allow users to specify
additional terms to search for within a set of search results.
Examples q=president&as_q=John+Adams
Use "space" as seperator
Below is sample PHP code which works for me
$url="https://www.googleapis.com/customsearch/v1?key=k&cx=cx&q=cocos2d&siteSearch=".urlencode("www.cocos2d-iphone.org www.XXXXXXXX.org")."&siteSearchFilter=i"

I want to setup the following url in my MVC4 website, using the user's full name in the url:
http://www.myapp.com/profile/steve-jones
I have setup the following route in Global.asax:
routeCollection.MapRoute(
"profile", "profile/{userName}",
new { controller = "myController", action = "profile", userName = string.Empty
});
And I can take the parameter 'steve-jones' and match it to a user with matching name. My only problem though is, what if there is more than one 'Steve Jones', how can I handle this?
Does anyone know of a workaround/solution to this so that I can use a user's full name as part of the url and still be able to retrieve the correct user in the controller method?
Am I forced into including the user's id with the url (something that I do not want to appear)?
The usual way of handling this is by appending a number when creating the profiles. So if "steve-jones" is already a name in the database, then make the user's display name "steve-jones2". You basically have to insist that all profile urls are unique, which includes updating any existing database and account creation code.
Alternatively (and/or additionally), if two same names are found then have the script reroute to a disambiguation page where the user is presented with links and snippet of profile info of the many existing Steve Joneseses so they can go to the full correct profile.
Another way of handling it is by giving all user profiles an additional numeric code on the end. At my university all logins are based on name, so they give everyone pseudo-random 3-digit extensions so that they are safe as long as they don't get 1000 people with the exact same names :)
Some people might be happier being steve-jones-342 if there is no steve-jones or steve-jones1, if you're concerned.
Some of the documents I store in Lucene have fields that contain file paths or URIs. I'd like users to be able to retrieve these documents if their query terms contain a path or URI segment.
For example, if the path is
C:\home\user\research\whitepapers\analysis\detail.txt
I'd like the user to be able to find it by queriying for path:whitepapers.
Likewise, if the URI is
http://www.stackoverflow.com/questions/ask
A query containing uri:questions would retrieve it.
Do I need to use a special analyzer for these fields, or will StandardAnaylzer do the job? Will I need to do any pre-processing of these fields? (To replace the forward slashes or backslashes with spaces, for example?)
Suggestions welcome!
You can use StandardAnalyzer.
I tested this, by adding the following function to Lucene's TestStandardAnalyzer.java:
public void testBackslashes() throws Exception {
assertAnalyzesTo(a, "C:\\home\\user\\research\\whitepapers\\analysis\\detail.txt", new String[]{"c","home", "user", "research","whitepapers", "analysis", "detail.txt"});
assertAnalyzesTo(a, "http://www.stackoverflow.com/questions/ask", new String[]{"http", "www.stackoverflow.com","questions","ask"});
}
This unit test passed using Lucene 2.9.1. You may want to try it with your specific Lucene distribution. I guess it does what you want, while keeping domain names and file names unbroken. Did I mention that I like unit tests?
