Getting "SessionId" from response of user logged in session using POSTMAN REST client.
How to use the sessionId for other API calls of GET request?
Making a few assumptions about your data structure, store it as a variable:
//parse the response body as JSON
var data = JSON.parse(responseBody);
//create a global variable that can be reused in another call
postman.setGlobalVariable("sessionId", data.SessionId")
To use in a call to another endpoint:
http://www.example.com/{{sessionId}}

The .../api/json seems only working for query info with GET method. When I request /createItem?name=xxx or /createItem/api/json?name=xxx with POST method, it always return the response body of HTML。
This is very inconvenient to get error information,for example, when the job already exists,it return like this
I'm trying test a few endpoints using Postman.
All endpoint, require a token which can be obtain by log-in.
So I did this :
Request #1
After login success, I have access to the token from the response, then I store that token in my global variable.
let token = pm.response.json().location
console.log('Token : ', token.split("?token=")[1]);
pm.globals.set("token", token)
I need to use that token as Authorization type Bearer Token for my request #2.
I can copy & paste that in the token box, but I tried to avoid doing that manually, is there a way to do it automatically so I can run these 2 requests in sequence?
At first, create an environment ( top right corner of postman - image below ) This
is not a mandatory step by I suggest you to do for better handling of variables
I have modified the script to suit your need
var jsonData = JSON.parse(responseBody);
postman.setEnvironmentVariable("ID", jsonData.Location.split("?token=")[1]);
Now this will export the value of the token ( screenshot below )
All you have to do next is to call the variable in request #2
By this you don't have to manually copy, paste into request #2 every single time
NO there isn't any till now. It has to be done manually if you want to have complete value or else you can store it in a variable and use that variable directly for the token.
Is there any way to use the response of a wcf service method request as an input for the next request in same orchestration and return the response of the first request as well as the response of the second request as out put in BizTalk?
Eg :
My first request gives a response as "a"
Give this response "a" as request to the 2nd request and gets the response as "b"
Return the response as "a" and "b".
Is this possible?
Yes. You could either create a map from Response 1 to Request 2, and also create a multiple input message map from Response 1 and Response 2 to your final output message.
If the messages involved don't have any repeating structures, it may be enough to distinguish the fields that you need to be concerned with and just use a ConstructMessage with an XmlDocument, i.e.
// construct shape code
varXmlDoc = new System.Xml.XmlDocument();
varXmlDoc.LoadXml("<webSvcRequest2 xmlns=''><ParamB>" + msgWebSvcResp1.ParamA + "</ParamB></webSvcRequest2>");
msgWebSvcReq2 = varXmlDoc;
And similar code for producing the final output message. If you go this route, I'd advice creating some C# utility methods to actually store the strings/message templates.
I am using WorkContext that contains information about the current request such as logged-in user, current culture and so on;
My question is i want to Interrogates HttpContext.Current to get data from request;(Method Body; i already know how to get it from query string) i mean i want to get Jason Data that is passed when the user make the request in case of Get,Post,Put and Delete requests; note i want to get data from raw url HttpContext.Current.Request not receive data in a method paraemeter as i want to get generic data that is common on all methods
I think the property you want (assuming I understood your question) is HttpContext.Current.Request.RequestType. If you wanted Json you could do:
var rType = new { Method = HttpContext.Current.Request.RequestType };
var thing = JsonConvert.SerializeObject(rType);
I want to call a webservice using google closures, via jsonp since i am performing a cross domain webservice.
And i am calling it in the following manner
var url = "http://myurl/";
var jsonp = new goog.net.Jsonp(url);
jsonp.send(
{"name":"jessi","action":"initaction","gameId":"123"},
callback, callbackfailed);
But in this method the url is converted as a normal get method string as the follows
http://myurl/?name=jessi&action=initaction&gameId=123
But i need to send this url as a json object in the following manner
"name":"pari123","action":"initaction","gameId":"slotreel3"
How can i do this, i searched google and i couldnt find proper documentation regarding ?this.
The function goog.net.Jsonp.addPayloadToUri_ that is used to encode the object says:
#param {!Object} payload A map of value name pairs to be encoded.
A value may be specified as an array, in which case a query parameter
will be created for each value, e.g.:
{"foo": [1,2]} will encode to "foo=1&foo=2".
This is exactly what is happening. So, why not initialize your url with the query? e.g.
var url = "http://myurl.php?" + goog.json.serialize({"name":"jessi","action":"initaction","gameId":"123"});
var jsonp = new goog.net.Jsonp(url);
jsonp.send()
Untested but maybe this works.
