I went through many post on SO but not find the suitable solution to the problem
I have a tablix and I have groups and toggled on Run,Task Name and Procedure Name. when the groups are collapsed one detailed row after procedure name is visible.
What I want is to hide entire row when toggled is collapsed and will show when it is expanded. how to achive this
I want to hide all information from operation to status columns in tablix when toggled is collapsed.
Here is the tablix I am dealing with
#user3540780 I have already done that groupings
here is what I have done
You need to set up four groups
Dimensions, Task Name, Procedure Name and Load.
Task Name is toggled by Dimension,
Procedure Name is toggled By Task Name,
Load is toggled by Procedure Name.
Load needs to be a grouping at detail line level simply grouping on all the fields in your detail section.
Set up your toggles in the Row Groups window at the bottom of the designer screen. If you have added the groups correctly there will be a dashed grouping line between the Operation column and the remaining columns. (You need to have selected a cell in the tablix to see these)
You will find that the whole detail line will be toggled

This may be as simple as it can't be done, but I have to ask. :) I am building a report using Report Builder 3.0. The report contains a table which also has Grouping established. I wanted to give the user an easy way to expand/collapse all rows of the table, so I used the method of creating a parameter with two values (0 for collapse, 1 for expand), tied the visibility of the group to the parameter using an expression in the Hidden Property for the group. Then I created two text boxes for Expand and Collapse and added the respective parameter/value in the Action in the text box properties.
At this point, everything works as intended. Here is where I run into the issue. I added another parameter, lets just call it "Location". The parameter is a text data type that allows multiple values and gets it available values from dataset/query in the same report. This is where I am guessing what I want may not be possible. When I select my Location(s), then run the report it all looks good. However, when I click on one of the Expand/Collapse text boxes, it clears out the values that I selected for the location(s). I am guessing this is due to the fact that the available values for the Location parameter is set via a query at run time. Is there any way to maintain the values for the Location parameter when triggering the expand/collapse buttons?
Thanks in advance!
I am having set of text boxes in the report and binding each columns in the text box from the Data set.
As of now only first record from the dataset is binding in the text box.
I need all the rows in the dataset to bind in the text boxes page wise.
Each row in the dataset bind to text boxes page wise.
First record in first page,Second record in second page ... etc.
How to achieve this? Help me to solve this...
Thanks in Advance,
Stephen.L
I recently faced the same issue, I used some help from stackoverflow to solve the issue, u might have already figured it out but this is to help others with similar issue.
Make sure you have a Dataset defined for your report.
Add a "Table" control to the report. This seems to be needed in order to iterate the rows in your Dataset.
Delete the header row and two of the default columns from the table so that you are left with a single row with a single column.
Expand the table to the width of your layout and make it as tall as you will need for your "free form" layout.
By default, there is a TextBox inside the table cell. Right-click the empty table cell and choose "delete" to remove that TextBox.
Drag a "Rectangle" control into the empty table cell. It seems to automatically "dock" to the width/height of the table cell.
Now you should be able to drag the fields from your DataSet (TextBoxes, etc) into the Rectangle to produce the desired layout.
You can use a List with page breaks at the end of details group.
How would I go about making multiple selections in a QlikView straight table?
For example, how would I select the 1st and 5th rows at the same time?
There is a section about multiple selections in the QlikView 11 - Reference Manual :
14.5 Multiple Selection Within a Field
Multiple selections within a field (from one lisstrong textt box) can be made in a number of ways:
Position the cursor in the list box, then drag it over a number of field values while pressing the
mouse button.
Click the first field value to be selected, then CTRL-click each additional selection.
Click the top item to be selected, then SHIFT-click the bottom item to be selected. This way all the
items in between will be selected. However, if the sort mechanism is on, the first selection may cause
the order to change, which makes it difficult to make a correct second selection.
Confirm a text search (see below) by hitting the ENTER key. This will result in all matching field
values being selected. By keeping the CTRL key depressed while pressing ENTER the selections
from the text search will be added to previous selections.
To deselect a previously made additional selection, CTRL-click it.
If a multiple selection is made in one list box, and make a new selection from the available optional values
in another list box, some of the selected values in the first list box may get excluded. However, when the
selection in the second list box is canceled, the previous selections will, by default, be recovered.
A multiple selection can be interpreted in two different ways, either as a logical or or as a logical and.
Default is logical or, i.e. QlikView will find a solution that is associated to one or more of the selected field
values.

For straight tables, you can only select items next to each other. Ctrl-Select only works for listboxes
i have a report that has multiple groups mostly in rows and one column group but i need to show certain columns based on parameters selected. As show in the image when i right click on speciality column the column visibility is not available. Can somebody help me on this.
thanks

I solved it myself without using visibility option in columns instead hide and show the header text based on parameter value and border style in properties window
Visibility can be set in the Properties sidebar for that group column.
I resolved by selecting all the cells (one at a time) under the group header(s)/column and setting the associated text box Hidden to "true"
Based on several report parameters in SQL Server 2005 reporting services, I would like to automatically generate one or several chart(s) for each row in the return result and paginate or space them out. How do I go about that?
If the number of charts will vary for each row, but the variations are known (e.g. it's either just chart 1, or chart 1 and 3, or charts 1 2 and 3) then it's simple enough using a table.
In the default detail row add any normal fields you need. Now insert a new detail row for each chart you might need. Lastly set the visibility of each chart row based on your rules, noting that the rule will hide the row if your expression evaluates to true. Make sure you select the row using the area to the left of the left-most cell, if you got it right you'll see that it's a row in the properties grid.
To get the layout you want you can merge cells for the charts to go in, or use a single cell and put a Rectangle in it, then in the Rectangle lay out your other controls.
Any rows that are hidden will be collapsed, so you wont get big empty sections like you can if you simply toggle the visibility of the charts themselves.
What you can do is place a List control on the page, set List grouping by record unique key (ID, or several fields if composite), and place a charts on the List. Next, set items visibility expressions to control it with report parameters.
