I'm using WampServer64 and I'm trying to upload some dll files to
my website without. However I'm not having any luck, they are getting blocked for some reason. Does anyone know why and how to solve this problem?
The solution is to change the settings in php.ini located in
apache folder and not in the one located in the php folder
to check if the changes have been made run phpinfo();

I was using their sample app where you can test out the tool and I was able to create a nice little menu for my site. But you have to purchase a license to export the code.
I purchased the license and the first "Getting Started" requirement is to "Start your Web Server and open the index.html file. This is where I'm lost. BTW... for reference, you can scroll to the bottom of that documentation page to see all the files that were included in the download.
When I try to open that "index.html" file in my browser, it doesn't load.
I followed some instructions to get my native Mac Apache server running, and everything seems to be working, with my localhost, but I don't know how to open this file through my Apache Web Server.
Any help would be so appreciated!!
I am assuming you have your Apache installed on your Mac under /etc/apache2 folder
If you want to serve your html files and related components, you need to tell apache from where to find your files
So , you need to configure apache so that it can server your files.
first you need to open an terminal from lunch menu then go to the apache2 installation directory
cd /etc/apache2
Then you need to open httpd.conf file and make necessary changes,
sudo nano /etc/apache2/httpd.conf
You will see "DocumentRoot" line/. Change it with your directory where you put your files.
Change also Directory path with yours. (It should be in same config file such as
with
<Document "some_path">
Then you should restart apache server with command
sudo apachectl restart
Now you can try to access your file . you can also check http://localhost to validate
You need to put the files somewhere within the DocumentRoot of your Apache web server, and then you should be able to visit them with http://localhost/ (assuming the index.html file is in the root of the DocumentRoot).
I'm not familiar with the default setting of DocumentRoot on the Mac port of Apache, but you should be able to find that quite easily in the configuration. On Linux that would commonly be found somewhere under /etc/apache2 or /etc/httpd.
There may be further configuration needed if the files expect some sort of server-side module to be activated (e.g. PHP), but it sounds like they are just plain HTML.
Some good answers were given but I think this particular app needed a few extra steps in order to work properly.
The developer got back to me and told me I'd need to install a MAMP solution in order to run the app.
So I installed that and then took the unzipped folder and all its contents in this folder /MAMP/htdocs/
Then when I visit http://localhost:8888/ZMenuMaker/ the app runs without a hitch!
I had a shared hosting package with 1and1 and I just moved over to their VPS hosting that uses Plesk. I already had the domains moved over the VPS server and I already uploaded all of the files via FTP.
I talked to an agent yesterday and he helped me setup the main page on the website so that it would go to the appropriate root directory. The main website is working properly whenever I go the main domain name, however, whenever I go to website.com/blank or website.com/stuff, I receive a 404 error.
The strange part is that I see the files in Plesk file manager, I just don't know why they are not displaying properly. I didn't change anything in the migration process.
I did not change the code on any of the pages and I have contacted their customer support team a number of times, but they have been unable to resolve the issue.
Can anyone tell me what I should do to make sure that the files are associated with the correct pages?
Have you checked the permission for the files and folder under your domain, this seems to be an issue with either your ownership or permission of the files. And if thats not the problem it could even be your .htaccess file.. make sure you have transferred your .htaccess file as well from old shared hosting to new VPS.
I developed a website and got a Tomcat account on Dailyrazor. My website runs fine when I start Tomcat from the command line and stick my war file in Apache's webapps folder. I access it by http://localhost:8080/dkashtanartportfolio/.
Now should it be as easy as dropping the war in my webapps folder on my DailyRazor Tomcat server? I expect to be able to access my website via http://www.<domain-name>.com/<war-file-name>/, which should look like http://www.dkartportfolio.com/dkashtanartportfolio/
I get a 404 error and I do not know why? Can anybody help?
Some of the DailyRazor accounts don't allow automatic deploy. So after uploading war you need to restart Tomcat. I use shell to execute tomcat_manage stop, followed by tomcat_manage start.
You may also be able to request restart by opening a help ticket.
For some reason, my accounts expect war's to be in public_html and not webapps. I have an old account so they may have changed the way new accounts work.
You need to look carefully into tomcat/conf/server.xml and make sure that you've specified correct path to app folder. Also you need to keep in mind that if you have shared tomcat you need to unpack your war file before requesting tomcat restart - it won't unpack automatically.
I am trying to upload two files to a webserver so my teacher can see it. I am using winsp since my filezila doesnt work. But for some reason it is telling me that i don't have access to that page. Can anyone tell me why is it doing that.Here is a picture of my screen.

If I had to take a guess, that public_html folder is your public directory where you should put things that anybody can get to (like through a browser). You have your files outside of that directory, so your page can't access them.

It's an educated guess, as I have seen a fair amount of server configurations that name the public web folder as such (other common names are "www" and "httpdocs")
Problem definitly isn't in code. There is error while uploading files. Can you connect to FTP regulary? If you can. Look for Active or Passive file transfer to FTP. Also if you can upload files, files must be in public_html folder to be visible from browser.

second, you should probably copy the files into the /public_html folder, instead of the / (root) folder.
My application was working fine, I dont know what happened suddenly image upload function stoped functioning.It gives this error-

You will probably have a custom php.ini or php5.ini file somewhere in your account. Launch your FTP client and find it.
