How do I remove a specific size class preview in Xcode 6? - xcode6

In Xcode 6, I opened up the Preview so I could see how my storyboard would look on different devices. I can add devices to the preview. In fact, I can add the same device to the preview over and over. But how do I remove a device from the preview? I tried closing out of Xcode and re-opening it, but they are still there.

I don't know if I tried this in XCode 6.0 or not, but I'm on 6.1 now and I was able to remove the previewed device. Select the device (you can see a blue outline around the device when selected) in the Preview panel then press delete. That will remove it from the Preview panel.

Kurt Anderson's answer works from Xcode 6.1 all the way to the latest Version 8.2.1 (8C1002). I assume the same "select" then "delete" will work for the future Xcode as well.

IOS - Migrating storyboard to Xcode 8 resize

I used to have a story board in Xcode 7.3, today I started migrating to Xcode 8 by hand because I want to clean some stuff in this version.
The problem that I faced is that in the storyboard when I change the device type the content of the view controller scene is not adjusted to the phone.
This is an example:
The above is the same size as the storyboard in Xcode 7.3, actually Copy & Paste the View Controller Scene.
When I change the size to the next device I get this:
Now I have a space in the right. I'm using Auto Layout.
So I don't know what changed in this version or what do I need to do in order to make my storyboard fits on all iPhones sizes.
What I would need to see is if I change to a bigger phone then everything will auto fit on the new screen. Thats the way was working with Xcode 7.3.
Any advice?

XCode 8 - How to solve an Auto resizing issue on XCode version 8.0?

I used XCode version 7.2.1 for my project. But I updated the XCode version 8.0 now. Though the scroll view is messed in view controllers of my project. Here I have used Resizing only not an Auto layout. I referred many forums. But can't able to find a solution for that. Here I have attached similar links to what I had tried.

I have to update frame of everything in storyboard every time I start Xcode
What is the exact solution for Scroll view resizing issue in XCode version 8.0?
Its work for me
https://stackoverflow.com/a/39770664/6619234 you can try this...
after Save & Close don't open this xib/Storyboard....it is an temporary solution....till the apple fix it..
Apple just came out with XCode 8.2, which fixes this problem for me. I have been using XCode 7.3.1 for my interface design parallel to 8.1, but I can now use 8.2 without any problems.
The storyboard gets updated with widths and height of frames though, to accommodate the new 'View as:' functionality. Though it doesn't seem to affect running on device/simulator.
Curiously, the bugfix it is not noted in the XCode 8.2 release notes.
I was able to solve the same by selecting my xib files and then I selected my view in the xib after that I went to attribute inspector and changed the size, status bar, top bar and bottom bar as inferred and it worked but before that xocode pointed out I am missing 2x retina display file so I clicked the warning and it was added automatically.
I asked to Apple about this same issue, and they have sent the following message to my inbox:

info buttons not showing in ios6.1

I am running Xcode 5.1.1. I have recently been writing an app in Xcode 4. Now I come to develop it further in Xcode 5 I have the following problem. "info Dark" type buttons are no longer visible in IOS6.1 on the phone or simulator. They were before. However they are visible in ios7 on both the phone and simulator. Even though they are invisible on IOS6.1 they will still respond to pressing correctly.
I have checked that they are not somehow behind other views and I have tried altering nearly every possible parameter in story board. I have tried making sure that the buttons are not hidden by programatically setting hidden to NO. If I create a new button I get the same problem. The problem is for "info Light" type buttons also. If I make the buttons custom and give them an image there is no problem.
I can't find anyone with a similar problem on the web.
It occurred to me that the default image for an "info Dark" type button for IOS6.1 was somehow missing in my copy of Xcode but could not work out how to check this. However, I wonder if that is clutching at straws.
Any suggestions would greatly appreciated
Silas
In the "File Inspector" under "Interface Builder Document" I had "Builds for" set to "IOS 6.1 & later". I changed this to "Project Deployment Target (6.1)" and the problem disappeared.
I then went back and reset it back to "IOS 6.1 and later" but could not recreate the problem

Is there a different way to view the iOS Simulator in Xcode 5 / Am I viewing my button correctly?

So I'm doing the Ray Wenderlich tutorials on iOS, and I'm doing the button tutorial. When I run the app, I get something that looks like this:
I have two questions:
I often see simulators show up in the form of an actual iPhone and was wondering if that was possible, or if that rectangle is the only way to view it?
The reason I'm asking is when I connected the button to an action (It says 'Pressed!'). So, is it supposed to show up in the box (bottom right) only, or should it should up on the simulator itself- mimicking what the user would see on-screen?
Regarding your first question: Probably a problem with screen size. See also here How can I restore the iPad frame around iOS Simulator 5.1?
The output seen in the screenshot is produced with NSLog and won't be seen on the device. You need to add an UILabel or such and set its text.
In the Simulator menu, try selecting Window then Scale and go to 50%. The retina models are far too big on my screen. Also, the old iOS 6 simulator with standard iPhone did look like a real phone, so examples from a while ago will look different.
If you want to support iOS 6.x, you can load it into Xcode. From Xcode main menu, select Xcode and then Preferences, and go to the Downloads tab.

XCode 4: Create iPad Version using autosizing masks

I've just upgraded to XCode 4 Gold and I can't find a way to automatically create the iPad view from an iPhone view (or viceversa).
To be clear, the feature I am looking is the same as in the Interface Builder of XCode 3, there is an option "Create iPhone/iPod touch version using autosizing masks" when you're working on an iPad View, and "Create iPad version using autosizing masks" on iPhone/iPod Touch.
If anybody know if this is possible...
Thanks in advance.
There is still a way to convert xibs to iPad. It is just hard to find:
Select the project in the navigator, then right-click the target and make sure it is set to iPhone -- if set to Universal this process will not work. (You can set it back to universal afterwards)
Right click the target and then select Duplicate.
Choose to Duplicate and Transition to iPad. A group called "Resources-iPad" will be added to your project and will contain the iPad-converted xibs.
