I'm using CareerBuilder's API:
http://api.careerbuilder.com/Search/jobsearch/jobsearchinfo.aspx
In the description, the endpoint is:
http://api.careerbuilder.com/v1/jobsearch
As the developer key is necessary, I assume that the key should insert after v1 with a ?, as follows:
http://api.careerbuilder.com/v1?DeveloperKey=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/jobsearch
Then, if I put this into a browser, it should return me the XML as the output.
When I have done this, the page gave me 404 errors.
How does this type of API works? I assume it works like Google APIs
I eventually solve this by adding parameters at the end of the endpoint URL...
http://api.careerbuilder.com/v1/jobsearch?DeveloperKey=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX&ID=YYYYY

My OAuth 2 callback URL is:
https://www.my-site.com?fixed=value
Where I have a query param that's fixed and does not change(and it unfortunately needs to be there for unrelated reasons). When Pinterest does the redirect call after user logs in, they add the ? again. So something like:
https://www.my-site.com?fixed=value?code=122343
Where my API is interpreting the value of the fixed param as value?code=122343 and breaks down. Is there any around this ?
You have to change callback url from https://www.my-site.com?fixed=value to https://www.my-site.com/fixed/value or you can try to add a custom parser to parse this url in your API.
In my case I was having a query param option called 'state'.I put my constant data in it and after authorize, I got my constant data in 'state' query param again when I redirected to my app.
As I was trying to harvest the user_timelines for a list of user_ids, I noticed that my own home_timeline was also being harvested. In the end I discovered that whenever my list used a null string entry for user_id, executing the code below was the same as executing
twitter_api.statuses.home_timeline. That is ok, but I do not see such behavior Twitter- documented? What am I missing in the documentation?
auth = twitter.oauth.OAuth(OAUTH_TOKEN, OAUTH_TOKEN_SECRET,CONSUMER_KEY, CONSUMER_SECRET)
twitter_api = twitter.Twitter(auth=auth)
twitter_api.statuses.user_timeline(user_id='')
You're correct - if you invoke the Twitter API v1.1 user_timeline method without a user_id or screen_name parameter specified (or null), it will return the user_timeline for the authenticated user making the API call. This is undocumented behaviour.
Note that home_timeline is a different method, and will return Tweets from the users you follow, not your own Tweets. I think you're describing the former (user_timeline), not home_timeline.
I'll make a note to get this added to the official API documentation.
Does anyone know how to use WSO2 api manager to specify all query parameters as optional through URL pattern specification in WSO2 API Manager UI(Paath Params also present in the same URI)? for example, I have a API which will be registered in WSO2 api manager , and its uri is 'search//?type="xx"&status="yy"', currently both of these 2 query parameters (type & status) are optional and is pathparam.
I specified URL Pattern "search/{stationcode}*". Now I am calling with path param only, it gives Error "No matching resource found in the API for the given request".
I call "search/TAMK", it is not working. But if I use "search/TAMK?" or "search/TAMK*" or "search/TAMK*", it works just fine.
I tried to use "search/{stationcode}/*", but still it did not solve the issue. It is always expecting one character for queryparam. Can any one please help me to solve this. Without query parameter it should work, right?
I would suggest you to use the new API Manager (1.9) and try the following.
Create an API with the backend URL of
http://...../search
when you define the URL patterns you can define the following pattern
/{stationcode}*
and you can add 'type' and 'status' as optional parameters in the design view of the API creation page. You can choose the parameter type as 'query' and Required as 'False'
Via the Fogbugz REST API I try to get all articles with a certain tag. I wrote some code in python to get it but I got "zero" as result. Here is my code:
import requests
...
some code to log in
...
req_params={"cmd": "search", "token": self.token,"q":"tag:\"my_cool_tag\""}
response = requests.get(req_url, data=req_body, headers=req_header, params=req_params, verify=False)
print (response.text)
as response I got:
...cases count="0"...
Is there a way to get all articles with a certain tag in a list via REST-API and how I can achieve this?
I am using FogBugz Version 8.8.49.0.
Try the search with curl or directly in your web browser to check that it works, then see if you can debug your Python.
In a browser I can successfully query FogBugz Online with something like:
https://<domain>.fogbugz.com/api.asp?token=<token>&cmd=search&q=tag:%22<my_tag>%22
Although I entered quotes around my tag, the browser url encoded them to %22. Obviously <domain>, <token> and <my_tag> should be replaced with your own values.
Your basic parameters look OK, but I haven't used Python so am not sure whether escaping the quotes around the tag translates well to the GET request? Maybe try url encoding "my_cool_tag".
I'm trying to use the http://Astrid.com API, specifically to get data using the method under the "Request Format" section on this page - http://astrid.com/apidoc/file.README.html
The URL I built is:
https://astrid.com/api/7/task_list?app_id=[MY APP ID]&time=1&user_id=[MY USER ID]&sig=[MY REQUEST SIGNATURE]
And it returns this:
{"list":[],"time":1363131562,"status":"success"}
Seems like it worked, but does anyone know why the "list" array might be returning empty? I've created a bunch of tasks in my profile so it should be showing those.
Thanks!
You need to sign in first with the method user_signin. If successful you get a token.
Then you need to call the task_list method providing the token.
You do not need to provide a user id with the task_list method. It is only used to select tasks that you share with this user.
Example for signing in:
https://astrid.com/api/7/user_signin?provider=password&app_id=YOUR_APP_ID&secret=YOUR_ASTRID_PASSWORD&sig=SIGNATURE&time=1365715302.36&email=YOUR_EMAIL
Example for getting your tasks:
https://astrid.com/api/7/task_list?active=true&token=THE_TOKEN&sig=SIGNATURE&app_id=YOUR_APP_ID&time=1365715304.41
