I've created a language version for a Form using "Web Form for Marketers" in Sitecore. The usual english version is working fine. Now, I've created the German version of the Form and trying to load the page.
It is breaking with Error:
"{System.Web.HttpException (0x80004005): Error executing child request for handler 'System.Web.Mvc.HttpHandlerUtil+ServerExecuteHttpHandlerWrapper'"
and
Sitecore.Data.Query.ParseException: End of string expected at position 39.
Am I missing something? What are the steps to create a language version for WFFM Form? Please suggest.
Got the reason for the error. There was a hyphen "-" in the path. Removed it and my page started working. "Web Forms for Marketeres" doesn't work with "-".
Thanks,
Chandana

I have a Vue2 application which runs perfectly in chrome. However, when I launch the site in IE 11, it gives a blank page. On further investigation, I observed the following -
1. From developer tool Emulator tab, If I change the document type to Edge or 10, my solution works perfectly fine., and there is no error in console
2. If I change the document type back to 7 (default), the page becomes blank and it gives three errors in console - "SCRIPT1028 - Expected identifier, string or number"
For the script error mentioned in point 2, I have checked my code and removed any unwanted commas, if applicable, but that did not help much.
I am using axios in my code.
Note: I get these errors only from deployed code (in dev, SIT, or UAT box). When I run it locally, IE does not give any error because when I run it locally, the default document type is Edge. It is only when I run from server, the default document type takes 7.
I believe if I take care of the script errors I get, it should resolve my problem. However, I am not too sure how to solve the script error.
I am pretty new to Vue. Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
I'm facing a problem on Mac 2016 Powerpoint. In my VBA module I need to run an applescript. As we cannot use MacScript anymore I followed RonDeBruin's explanation to use AppleScriptTask. My Applescript is working fine on his own but when I try to call it like this :
AppleScriptTask("hello.scpt", "myhandler", "hello")
With in my apple script
on myhandler(paramString)
say paramString
End myhandler
It gives me an error 5 - Invalid procedure call or argument
my script is placed in Library/Application Scripts/com.microsoft.Powerpoint is this path alright?
Thank you for your help
I know this is an old thread but I was receiving this error and the issue was the location of my AppleScript.
I originally had it under
/Library/Application Scripts/com.microsoft.Excel
and I should have had it under my Library
/Users/username/Library/Application Scripts/com.microsoft.Excel
I did get that error originally but now it works for me with your stated folder location but only after I rebooted my Mac and tried the same script with Excel:mac 2016 (I'm not sure which action is responsible for the success). Interestingly, I thought that since Microsoft is very protective of their trademarks that I originally thought that the folder name needed to be "com.microsoft.PowerPoint" but that did't work.
When debugging ExtJS 4 (tried both versions 4.1.0 and 4.1.1), FireBug repeatedly shows the following error: An invalid or illegal string was specified
http://docs.sencha.com/ext-js/4-1/extjs/ext-all.js
Line 18. It does not break on the error, though that option is specified. Additionally, neither my code or ext-debug.js and it's loader seem to actually call ext-all.js.
This error gets logged to Firebug's console about once per minute, which is annoying. What bothers me is that I cannot get the error to go away. Is this a FireBug bug? An ExtJS bug? Aliens? How can I debug the debugger?
I had the same problem before and I've solved it by removing a special character at the end of my JS file! (app.js I think)
It was weird, but the problem came from hidden special characters like: Zero-width non-joiner or Right-to-left mark.
Open another JS file but do not copy/paste your code there. Just write it again and check whether the problem exists or not.
And don't forget to check your data if you have some. As this article explains about the problem: http://www.ashorlivs.fr/javascript-jquery/article/an-invalid-or-illegal-string-was
For general debugging see this link http://www.sencha.com/learn/debugging-ext-js-applications/
You can also use ext-all-dev.js while in development mode.
There is another excellent tool on top of firebug, at this link http://www.illuminations-for-developers.com/
PS: I still didn't figured out how to post a comment. I guess it comes when I have more points/reputation. Hence adding it as an answer. thanks.
I've integrated Flattr with my Dotclear blog, using the appropriate plugin, and it works fine.
Except that, from time to time, some older posts have errors and I don't understand why.
See:
http://ploum.net/post/224-gpager-03-scenes-from-a-memory-finally-free
http://ploum.net/post/86-le-repas-de-noel-en-famille
those posts have nothing special and, yet, cannot be Flattered.
Could it be an issue on Flattr side ? Do you see what can cause that problem ?
Thanks in advance,
Seems like you're both using the new 0.6 version of the Flattr JavaScript API and a quite old 0.2 version. Using two versions at the same page can probably result in some pretty strange things - I would suggest just using the newer version that is documented here: https://flattr.com/support/integrate/js
Regarding why the button show an error - here's a bit of a secret way to find out: Look at the HTML for the button iframe and look within the div-tag with a "button-wrapper"-class - there you should find an HTML-comment that states the reason for the button error.
In your case the HTML-comment in the button iframe says "ERRORS: User couldn't be found and no owner specified." - which isn't strange since the iframe's URL has "0" specified as the uid-parameter - it should be a username instead.
Your script is disrupted by doublequotes in "var flattr_tle=", you should encode them with '"'
Using MVC3 and Razor View engine, I created a VB.NET web application in VS 2010. This creates the default Account and Home Controller along with corresponding Action Views.
Now if I open any vbhtml file I get the following error message in the Error List window.
Error 50 Syntax error. C:****\MVC3AppVB\Views\Account\LogOn.vbhtml MVC3AppVB
(See screenshot here http://www.flickr.com/photos/7672540#N07/5469248676/)
Who ever this app compiles and runs without any problem. I tried to create the same project using C# and there is no error message in the Error List Window.
Can anyone explain why this error message shows up only for VB and not for C#?
Thanks in advance.
The problem is with MVC3 and webpage 1.0 tooling. This issue has been answered in codeplex.
Probably some bug with the Intellisense. Try recompiling the project. Unfortunately the Razor Intellisense is far from perfect. I hope it will be improved in future releases of Razor.
