I'm developing an Android app with CameraRemoteApi to take pictures using an HDR-AS30V and store them on the smartphone. I need to know if it's possible to get the number of pictures the camera microSD can hold before it's full.
'getStorageInformation' API can be used to determine number of recordable images and also recordable time left. Right now only HDR-AZ1 and Lens style cameras QX1 and DSC-QX30 support this API.
Please check the latest SDK documentation for more information on the API.

I have a system in PHP, and i will receive photos from users, that are scanned photos of their personal documents... and i want to smart remove (auto crop) the boundaries of the photos, to leave ONLY the personal document (as a drivers license).
I spent hours looking, but were not able to find an API service that does that...i ll i can find was SDK for ios or android...
Any one has a suggestion?
I would want to replicate what dropbox did:
https://blogs.dropbox.com/tech/2016/08/fast-and-accurate-document-detection-for-scanning/
Thanks
Filestack provides these services. In particular, the Document Detection endpoint has the following description:
You can detect your document in the image, transform it to fully fit the image...
I want to track a vehicle and send its coordinate locations to multiple mobile devices at the same time. Is there a way to do that? i also need to send the live feed of the buses' current location Can i do it with agora.io?
Agora Aignaling SDK is perfect for this
You can get started through their demos on Github for different platforms.
We're currently in the process of recording 1fps time-lapsed 4k 360 photos of every island in the Bahamas, with embedded GPS EXIF data. An average hour of filming tends to produce around 600 image frames, which can easily expand to 2000-10,000 images per day on bigger routes. 2000 or so are approved on Google Maps already, but we're hitting a larger brick wall.
The Street View app is obviously the best way to upload when you have 50-100 image files, but it obviously struggles when it starts to hit over 500+ uploads in a batch (publishing doesn't start, or the app crashes), so we're left manually submitting collections. Add that to the standard 4000/day quota, and it's quite a challenge.
Having looked at the Publish API, it's rather tricky to leave a CLI tool running as it's designed with OAuth flow in mind with 1hr access tokens. The service account route seems to the way to go, but the PHP API client seems to have scant documentation for SV Publishing. Connecting photos is also tricky with that many images.
We ideally need a desktop uploader (like the backup tool), or a way to directly import from folders in Google Drive. The first seems discontinued, and there's no data on the second.
Can anyone explain or elucidate on the best practice for this kind of volume upload with the Street View publishing service?
Since you are only capturing 4K images, it will be much simpler to use video mode, depending on if your camera supports it at the desired framerate. You may check this documentation for more information.
Additional information:
You may also check out some of the desktop utilities at the bottom of the Street View website which may be able to help.
You may want to consider one of the Street View ready cameras (also listed on the above webpage) that is capable of recording and uploading 360 videos to Street View. Upon publication, the 360 photo frames are extracted from the video and used to create an automatically connected Street View experience on Google Maps.
Check these pages to learn more about this option:

Is it possible to delete images remotely using an API call for Sony cameras that support the Sony Camera Remote API?
Taking pictures is not possible once the camera memory card gets full and there seems to be no way provided to remotely delete images or erase the card. This is with the HDR-AS100, I assume other cameras have similar limitation.
If not possible here are two solutions that would resolve the issue for us:
Provide an API to enumerate/read/delete images stored on the camera memory card, or at the very least allow for an API to delete the picture returned by actTakePicture
Have an option in actTakePicture to specify not to store the image on the memory card, at least not permanently. i.e. erased once next picture is taken.
There is currently no API to do this unfortunately. We appreciate the feedback though and I will pass this on to our API team as a suggestion.
I need to develop a symbian application in which the app is triggered while taking a photo and upload to a web location with the GPS location of the phone. I would like to know which all devices can support this and is there any API restrictions or licence required to do this.
Sorry for the relevant plug but what you are looking for is basically 3 chapters (Networking, Multimedia and Location Based Services) of the Quick Recipes on Symbian OS book.
Since your application will use Networking APIs (and therefore cost the application user money), you will have to go through the Symbian Signed process.
As far as how many Symbian-powered phones contain both a camera and a GPS, I am afraid you are going to need to look at the invidual handset manufacturers websites to come up with an exhaustive list. Outside Japan, they are Nokia, Sony-Ericsson and Samsung.
Here is a list of Nokia models and their info
