Wired (USB) support Via Sony SDK for A7R? - camera

We are developing an aerial camera system using the A7R and were wondering about any software, SDKs, or other aids to allow us to collect images over the USB connection?
Thanks,
-Mark

Sony Camera Remote API available over USB on new models?

While Sony teases new camera models to customers (UMC-R10C, UMC-S3C) and mentions both API access and USB connectivity (rather than wifi) - the Sony Camera Remote API currently only mentions wifi. Is there any information on how to use those upcoming cameras? Some 'selected' developers are integrating them already (see: http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/sony-3dr-announce-new-enterprise-camera-for-solo) but independent developers are left in the dark.
Will the API be the same as the current Camera Remote API?
What kind of USB connection will it have. Just a USB network interface?
+1 on question/request. A lot of DIY'ers are interested in (buying and) controlling Sony cameras via USB. WiFi in 'noisy' environments is problematic.

Sony camera API simulator

Is there anyone aware if there is a Sony Camera "simulator" available?
This may greatly ease the development task of SDK based applications.
Unfortunately there is no emulator or simulator currently available. You will have to have an actual camera to test with.

API updates and Wi-Fi network connection

I've been looking through the API docs and support forum. Based on what I've been reading, there are two big holes in the Sony camera stack:
1) Cameras ONLY support master mode (peer-to-peer) wi-fi connections. They do not support infrastructure mode allowing the camera to connect to existing wi-fi networks.
2) API does not support moving files off the camera.
My questions: Does Sony plan to address add these capabilities? If yes, what is the timeline?
Thanks,
Graham
Thank you for your interest.
(EDITED: multi Wi-Fi connection is used by Live View Remote LVR & Camera Remote API is officially NOT supported in multi Wi-Fi mode).
Sony lens style cameras QX1, QX30 and ActionCams HDR-AZ1, HDR-AS100V can connect to existing Wi-Fi networks (Multi Connection Wi-Fi mode). Please check if your Wi-Fi network is compatible with connection method used. Newer QX1, QX30, HDR-AZ1 cameras support content transfer API. Please check API Reference document for exact APIs. How to develop an application for the Sony DSC RX100-M3 camera

I have the RX100-M3 camera, and it seems that some applications can be developed for it.
As far as I understand, the CameraRemoteAPI SDK can be used to develop Android or iOS applications. So is there a way to develop applications for the Sony camera?
I would like to develop a feature to be able to:
set the timer (from 2s to 2min)
select the number of shots (from 1 to 2000)
select the time between shots.
There is an existing "intervalometer" application but it is very expensive.
Camera Remote API SDK allows one to remotely control the supported Sony cameras including RX100M3 from any other device, by sending HTTP commands to the camera. The application you create can run from any
platform Android, iOS , Windows, PC, etc. You will have to connect this device to the camera over WiFi.
To get more information, please download the SDK, which contains sample applications and API documentation.

Are there developer APIs to hook into the camera connection kit for the iPad?

Does Apple offer any developer APIs for reading data from the camera connection kit? (either via USB or on a card thats plugged in?)
Nope, not at this moment at least.
