IOS 7 launch image, displaying black screen on device ONLY - ios7

I have checked all the questions /answers related to this issue at least at stakoverflow .but without any success ,so far my issue is - I have created a new app - target IOS 7 and I have added my launchimage and my appIcon in the image.xcassets folder .
when I launch my app on simulator the launchimae is showing perfectly without any issue but when I run the app on my iphone (iphone 5 , IOS 7.1) a black screen is showing instead of the launchimage
any help or suggestions will be appriciated ?

The problem is in your image.
You could open your image in Preview.app, then show the Inspector (⌘I) and look at More Info tab. Wrong image will show you the following info:
and will result a black screen on the device (but will be ok in the Simulator).
And the right one shood look like that:
I can't say how to fix wrong images in Photoshop. I found quite an ugly solution:
open wrong png in PS;
find and open correct png in another tab (make sure the canvas is of right size);
select the whole image in the wrong png and copy it;
paste the copied image into correct png file;
perform Save As... command and replace your wrong image with the new one.

Further to the answers above, the inspector actually tells you the size that it considers valid for use, so tweak it in whatever package before importing. I have many tools but for a quick-and-clean approach, good 'ol preview comes to the rescue if you take time to explore the editing tools

How do i download actual resolution/size images from chrome?

Whenever i download an higher resolution image chrome compresses it to around 100kb .What can i do to solve this? Is there a certain setting in chrome?
Try clicking on the image, then long press and choose open image in new tab. This should give you a good idea of how big the image is. Then long press and save the image. Note: the mobile version of Google Images does have search tools too (its at the extreme right in the bar with tabs for web, images, videos etc.)

Windows 8 XAML possible bug - using images causes text controls to disappear

I have a strange problem happening intermittently with my apps where textbox controls would disappear intermittently. I have narrowed the cause of this down to having image files (small logos etc) on my page.
I have managed to create a simple project which contains an xaml page with an image and 2 textblocks (these are in grids).
I have found on two test tablets that I can re-create the problem by going to task manager and creating a dump file for the running app.
After I do this twice and resume the app, the two textblocks disappear.
This exact problem is happening intermittently in my live apps.
Has anyone any ideas why this might be happening or what I should try next? I have no idea why creating a dump file forces the issue.

So far I can re-create it with the exact same steps on my two different tablets - both running Windows 8.1 Pro 32bit.
If you are familiar with sideloading apps and you have a 64bit tablet I would be really appreciative if someone was able to test out the exact same steps as seen in the video.
Any help would be extremely appreciated as I am clueless as to where to go next.
I finally got to the bottom of this. The problem was down to the intel graphics driver that was installed on the tablets.
An updated driver was released around April which seemed to resolve the issue.
I have observed this problem of disappearing controls on views that do not contain image files but rather a background image. After reading your method of how to reproduce the issue, I've since removed the background image and replaced with a LinearGradientBrush and retested with the dump file process. The problem seems to have disappeared. (I'm running 32-bit as well.)

iTunes Connect sends email about a issue with icon file, how to fix?

This is the email:
Dear developer,
We have discovered one or more issues with your recent binary submission for "Bla". Before your app can be reviewed, the following issues must be corrected:
Corrupt Icon File - The icon file 72 x 72.png appears to be corrupt.
Once these issues have been corrected , go to the Version Details page and click Ready to Upload Binary. Continue through the submission process until the app status is Waiting for Upload and then use Application Loader to upload the corrected binary.
I have change the file and re-upload the app, but I got the email again.

Make sure "compress png's" is turned off in the build settings.

Can you open the file in Preview, and choose 'Tools' -> 'Show Inspector'? The file may be using some PNG format features that Apple don't like. They want RGB, 8 bit depth, no alpha. See the Custom Icon and Image Creation Guidelines.
For comparison, here are screenshots of the Preview Inspector, showing properties of an icon for an app that was accepted. If you're unsure, post similar screenshots for the properties of your picture.
The "Pixels Per Meter" part may or may not appear. It wasn't there when I first opened some icon files five minutes ago, and now it appears for every PNG I open. Weird.
Edit: also check the icon entries in your 'Info.plist', or the 'Info' tab for your Target. (These are not the same thing, as I just spent several hours discovering. Settings in the 'Info' tab override your 'Info.plist'.) As of the iOS 5.1 SDK, these include Icon file (a string), Icon files (an array), and Icon files (iOS 5) (a dictionary containing at least one dictionary containing an array). XCode seems to add your launch images to this list too. Don't rely on it to keep the list tidy - I have sometimes found outdated filenames in mine.
For further comparison, here's what ended up in the Info.plist of a valid app. Your filenames may be different, as long as they match the resources in your project.
I'm the developer of the app Pillboxie. I have been having the same issue as you, but I believe I may have finally found a solution.
Before proceeding with my suggestion, make sure that your Info.plist and all icon filenames appear exactly as Apple requires. Keep checking the documentation to make sure you're up-to-date, but Dondragmer's recommendation looks correct to me.
I created all my image resources, including app icons, in Photoshop, exporting for web as PNG-24's. Because Pillboxie has numerous images, setting "Compress png's" to YES in the build settings helps me save several megabytes of space. I was getting the same error as you until I tried turning off this compression, as Evaristoyok suggests. However, my app jumped up several mb. I hoped to find a better way.
Tonight I found the following link: article. In it the author suggests to make sure that "Interlaced" is NOT selected in Photoshop when exporting images in the Save For Web & Devices dialog window. I re-exported all icon and launch images with this disabled, and it solved my issue. I was able to submit my app and still leave png compression enabled.

Exported PDFs from Mathematica 8 won't print

UPDATE: I wrote to Wolfram support about this and will update the post if they can resolve the problem. Sorry for spamming SO with a technical support question, but here it remains in case anyone else is having the same issue.
Is anyone else having this problem with Mathematica 8? I recently upgraded and noticed that when I export Graphics to a PDF file, although the file appears fine on my computer, it prints as a blank page. For example, try
Rectangle[{1,1}]//
Graphics//
Export["~/test.pdf",#]&
which creates a PDF file containing a black square. This file opens fine, but if I send it to my department printer I just get a blank page. If I don't export the graphics but print the notebook from MM, no problem, the graphics print as expected. If I use MM 7 to do exactly the same thing, the PDF file prints as expected. Exporting to PNG in MM8 seems to work fine. And, using the context menu Save Graphics As ... or File > Save Selection As ... to create a PDF containing just the graphic also works. However, these graphics eventually get included in a TeX document, and it would be far better if I could continue using the script I've got that doesn't require any button clicking to generate them.
I'm running MM 8.0.0.0 on Mac OS 10.6.7. I have not been able to test this on another printer yet, but this printer has never given me problems before and prints other PDF documents fine. Any ideas why this is happening?

In the meantime, the alternatives that you could try are:
Try a different printer.
Rasterize the image with the function 'Rasterize' before exporting. If
the rasterized image loses some resolution, you could use the option
'ImageResolution' to edit this.
Rasterize[image, ImageResolution -> xxx]
Surely this is a bug (please report it to support#wolfram.com), but you can work around the problem by selecting the graphic and choosing File > Save Selection As... from the menu (or Save Graphic As... from the contextual menu). This produces a slightly different file that doesn't appear to exhibit the undesirable behavior we observe from Export[].
These problematic files, and LaTeX PDFs that include them, can be properly printed by Adobe Reader 10.1.2. That's if you're okay with installing and using a 450MB PDF reader.
I reproduced the problem (leading me to this question) with Mathematica 8.0.4.0 on Mac OS X 10.7.2. Wolfram suggested lame workarounds like Rasterize and told me
This issue has been addressed by our developers, and a fix will be included in a future version of Mathematica.

Looking for the better way to make a kind of PDF reader w/ iOS 3+

I'm trying to make an iPhone application which can read PDFs in full screen and follow links on PDFs, but I can't find the right way to do it.
First, I tried to use an UIWebView to read the PDF file, but it doesn't work exactly as I wanted (I was not able to fix the link problem).
The second solution was to use the Quartz API to read the PDF. I took a look at http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/documentation/GraphicsImaging/Conceptual/drawingwithquartz2d/dq_pdf/dq_pdf.html, but i'm only able to print one page on the screen, and there is no way to jump to next pages.
Can someone help me ? I'm running out ideas :)

Quartz does not know how to change pages, click on links, etc. It only "draws" the PDF page you want - you will have to do all gestures by yourself (or use UIScrollView and such).
