How to read file in webRoot dir from EJB3? - file-io

I have an EmailSrvc Stateless Session Bean (EJB3), deployed on Glassfish. The bean needs to read an email template stored in /emailTemplates/someTemplate.html, process the template and send the email. The questions:
1) is this web dir suggested above an appropriate location for keeping the email templates?
2) how do I reference the file? I'd like to avoid direct filesystem paths as the server may be clustered. I was thinking I could get the webRootfolder via the ServletContext, but I haven't figured out how to look it up from within the bean.
Thanks

I just figured I can put the emailTemplates folder underneath WEB-INF/classes and get an inputStream of the file I need like this :
InputStream in = Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader().getResourceAsStream("emailTemplates/someTemplate.html");
Not sure I like having the templates in the classes folder however, it doesn't seem appropriate. Hopefully somebody else can propose a better solution?

Nextcloud in which source file is file uploading handled

I am going to make an app. But i am stuck in one issue. I am unable to find in which file of nextcloud, the codes are available which uploads file.
i want to find the file in which file uploading codes are situated.
I am going to make an app which will make a duplicate of uploaded file and will save in same directory with slightly changed name.
The public API for handling files lives in the \OCP\Files namespace, the implementation is in the \OC\Files namespace (https://github.com/nextcloud/server/tree/master/lib/private/Files).
Rather than modifying this code you should use the hooks functionality (never use classes or functions in the \OC\* namespace!): https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/12/developer_manual/app/hooks.html. This way you can execute your own code when a file is created or updated etc.
I guess you need the postWrite hook. Some sample code (untested):
\OC::$server->getRootFolder()->listen('\OC\Files', 'postWrite', function(\OCP\Files\Node $node) {
$node->copy('my/path');
});

How to access the location of the changelog file from custom task in Liquibase

I need to access the location of the change log file so that I can get the URL of other files that are in the same directory from a custom task.
The Change interface has a setter for the ChangeSet object which can be used to get the change log file, but the CustomChangeTask interface does not have this method.
From my understanding I need to use CustomChangeTask as my task does not generate SQL.
This is my question. I have decided to implement AbstractChange. It works just fine doing that and returning an empty array of SqlStatements.

Mule Multiple flows loading shared properties file

I have a mule application comprising of 10 mule XML files. Some of these XML files need to use same property from commong prperties (config.properties) file.
(1) Should ALL the flows that need use a given property load the properties file containing that property using --
<context:property-placeholder location="config.properties" />
(2) OR should only one of the XML file add property-placeholder?
(3) If option (2) is right, then does the order of mentioning the xml files as config.resources in mule-deploy.properties play any role?
Please shed some light on this.
You only need it once, and it does not matter where you put it.
You only need one property file and you can setup this for 3 environments liks DEV,QA and PROD and setop property to pick right file.
There is a lot of documentation that shows users different ways to read a properties file in Mule flows.
Here are three approaches on how you can do this:
Reading a properties file using ${Key} expression
Reading a properties file using ![p[‘Key’]] expression
Reading a properties file using p() function from DataWeave
If you deploy multiple applications through a Shared Resources structure, don’t set anything in the properties files, as there might potentially be conflicts between the various apps that share a domain. Instead, set environment variables over the scope of the deployed app, its domain, and other apps under that domain.
As explained in Shared Resources, in Studio you can create these variables through the Environment tab of the Run Configurations menu, reachable via the drop-down menu next to the Play button.

Resource Files in CF - Not Embedded

I have a PPC2003 project in VS2005. I have added a resource file (SomeResources.resx) to the project. I can access the test string I have in the file by using My.Resources.SomeResources.MyTestString (I am using the default Custom Tool Name that VS provides).
When the Build Action property of the is set to Embedded Resource, the application references the MyTestString successfully.
But I do not want to embed the file, so that it's string values can be modified after it has been deployed/installed.
I, therefore, changed the Build Action to Content, so that the file gets copied out to the device for potential future manipulation. When I call MyTestString I get the following error:
MissingManifestResourceException Stack Trace: at System.Resources.ResourceManager.InternalGetResourceSet() at System.Resources.ResourceManager.InternalGetResourceSet() at System.Resources.ResourceManager.InternalGetResourceSet() at System.Resources.ResourceManager.GetString() at MyApp.My.Resources.SomeResources.get_MyTestString() at MyApp.fMain.fMain_Load() at System.Windows.Forms.Form.OnLoad() at System.Windows.Forms.Form._SetVisibleNotify() at System.Windows.Forms.Control.set_Visible() at System.Windows.Forms.Application.Run() at MyApp.fMain.Main()
As the file is not embedded, do I maybe need to manually load it first? If so, how? Any other ideas? Is it not possible to do what I'm after achieving and should I just create my own XML file/reader?
Resources (resx files) are specifically designed to be compiled into the application. If you want it to be an editable content file on the target, then you have to approach it differently and use something like an XML file and wrap that with accessors (akin to the Configuration namespace stuff in the full framework).

How to store Application Messages for a .NET Website

I am looking for a method of storing Application Messages, such as
"You have logged in successfully"
"An error has occurred, please call the helpdesk on x100"
"You do not have the authority to reset all system passwords" etc
So that "when" the users decide they don't like the wording of messages I don't have to change the source code, recompile then redeploy - instead I just change the message store.
I really like the way that I can easily access strings in the web.config using keys and values.
ConfigurationManager.AppSettings("LOGINSUCCESS");
However as I could have a large number of application messages I didn't want to use the web.config directly. I was going to add a 2nd web config file and use that but of course you can only have one per virtual directory.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this without writing much custom code?
In your Web.config, under appSettings, change it to:
<appSettings file="StringKeys.config">
Then, create your StringKeys.config file and have all your keys in it.
You can still use the AppSettings area in the main web.config for any real application related keys.
Put the strings in an xml file and use a filewatcher to check for updates to the file
Put the strings in a database, cache them and set a reasonable expiration policy
You can use ResourceManager class. See "ResourceManager and ASP.NET" article at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa309419(VS.71).aspx
