I am trying to create a slider in codename one, but for some reason the slider isn't drawn, other components however, are. The code I have so far
public void start()
{
if (current != null)
{
current.show();
return;
}
mainForm = new Form("Slider and buttons");
c = mainForm.getContentPane();
c.setLayout(new FlowLayout());
Slider jSlider = new Slider();
jSlider.setMaxValue(360);
jSlider.setMinValue(0);
jSlider.setProgress(50);
jSlider.setEditable(true);
jSlider.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(300,50));
c.addComponent(jSlider);
c.repaint();
c.invalidate();
c.revalidate();
mainForm.show();
}
I'm not sure what I could have forgotten, probably just overlooking something..
Thanks in advance
EDIT: It actually does draw the slider if I choose the iPhone skin, but it doesn't do so under "lumia", anyone know why that is?
Its just missing styles under the default Windows Phone theme. Just define the style SliderFull & Slider for both selected/unselected states. We fixed this for the next update.

I face an issue which stucks for days. I am createing a tvos application which reqiures a custome navigationlink(button), when I move the focus to the navigation item, it should scale a little bit, and also I need to change the parent's view backgound. It is pretty simple, but it seems that the focusabe override the my custome button Style. The test shows that the background image was changed but without any scale effect when the navigationbutton get focused. Any suggestion?
NavigationLink(destination: Text("myview"))
{Text("Test")
}
.buttonStyle(myButtonStyle())
.Focusable(true){(focus) in
//the code to change the background image
//myButtonStyle definition
struct MyButtonStyle: ButtonStyle {
func makeBody(configuration: Configuration) -> some View {
return AppButton(configuration: configuration)
}
}
struct AppButton: View {
#Environment(\.isFocused) var focused: Bool
let configuration: ButtonStyle.Configuration
var body: some View {
configuration.label
.scaleEffect(focused ? 1.1 : 1.0)
.focusable(true)
}
}
The line to change the background image is always called when the item get focused as my expected, but the scale effect is gone. If I remove the following line of codes, the scale effect is back:
// .Focusable(true){(focus) in
//the code to change the background image
// }
It looks like that this line of code override my custome style of navigation button, any ideas? Appreciate any help!
Ah, finally I found the tricky, though there is very little document about this. When Focusable was introduced, it should not be in your code to change focus engine, which will cause the navigationlink tap message uncaptured, then your navigationlink for another view will not work.
Use .onChange() function to deal with any focus change event, not use Focusable.
I want to have effect like VLC Play Pause Button. Based on other posts, I have
Have created resource file with play pause icons(transparent background).
Have created checkable toolbutton through qt designer.
Have assigned icon for normal off/on through qt designer.
However, when I run the application and click button(IsCkecked is true), the icon turns slightly grey. I do not want background color to change. I am not sure, what is causing this behaviour as well.
Does anyone know reason behind this?
Thanks in advance.
Set stylesheet to the play button.
Like this...
QPushButton
{
background-color:#fffff;
}
QPushButton:pressed
{
background-color:#fffff;
}
Set stylesheet to the play button.
Like this.....
QPushButton
{
background-color:#fffff;(this color can be changed as you want)
}
QPushButton:pressed
{
background-color:#fffff;( same as above )
}
I'd like to ask whether or not it is possible to make master page to appear from right side (opposite of it's default behaviour) in xamarin.forms (and preferably with XAML) and if it's possible,would you show me how?
By default it is not possible.
You can try Right Master Detail Page
public RightSideMasterPage ()
{
InitializeComponent ();
// You must set IsFullScreen in this case,
// otherwise you need to set HeightRequest,
// just like the QuickInnerMenu sample
this.IsFullScreen = true;
// You must set WidthRequest in this case
this.WidthRequest = 250;
this.MenuOrientations = MenuOrientation.RightToLeft;
// You must set BackgroundColor,
// and you cannot put another layout with background color cover the whole View
// otherwise, it cannot be dragged on Android
this.BackgroundColor = Color.White;
// This is shadow view color, you can set a transparent color
this.BackgroundViewColor = Color.FromHex ("#CE766C");
}
I am trying to move an object in a page form top to down on user finger movement using translate transform. we should see page contents as the bar goes down the page and sits at bottom.
Just like Action Center in windows phone 8.1.
Please let me know any ideas how we can design. Thanks.
Good question!
My first thought was to do something like this.
You could get the touch input location and then move a rectangle from the top of the screen and translate it down according to they Y Cord of the Touch Input.
EDIT:
Okay so here is what you can do.
Create a Canvas and position it somewhere at the top ( i gave it the height of 14 in collapsed state).
Then create a private void cn_ManipulationDelta(object sender, System.Windows.Input.ManipulationDeltaEventArgs e) event and make it set the height of the Canvas. I also included a float i to later make it snap back or cover the entire screen if the user lets go during the pull-event.
private void cn_ManipulationDelta(object sender, System.Windows.Input.ManipulationDeltaEventArgs e)
{
cn.Height += e.DeltaManipulation.Translation.Y;
i = (float)e.CumulativeManipulation.Translation.Y;
}
And thats it. You can also add this event to make it snap back or go cover the full screen when the user lets go.
private void cn_ManipulationCompleted(object sender, System.Windows.Input.ManipulationCompletedEventArgs e)
{
if(i < 100)
{
cn.Height = 14;
}
else
{
cn.Height = Application.Current.Host.Content.ActualHeight;
}
}
Of course you can add smoother animations so it slowly goes back into the collapsed view or fills the entire page.
I hope this helps!
I am using monotouch dialog to generate a view. I managed to change the background color by subclassing DialogViewController, but the contrast with the section caption makes the text hard to read. How do I change the section caption color?
I am also using a StyledStringElement as a button in the same view. I cant seem to figure out how to shrink this element so that it looks more like a button. Please provide examples. Your help is appreciated.
To solve this issue I used a glassbutton with the it's HandleTapped handler as below.
var butt = new GlassButton(new RectangleF(80,150,150,50))
{
Font = UIFont.BoldSystemFontOfSize(22),
NormalColor = UIColor.Red,
};
void HandleTapped (GlassButton obj)
{
}
as for the colors, I used miguel's solution here. Hope this helps someone down the road.
