I have made a small demo application in worklight for Android Tablets, IPad and Windows 8 Tablets. I am using vc.openExternalView({},id); method for multiple views. Everything is going smooth in android and IPad native applications but when I run this app in visual studio 2012 for windows 8 base application then after loading first screen an error is occurred

You can try wrapping your html injections with Microsoft's API created especially for that

I am working on a project using Xamarin.Forms as a container app. This app includes several webviews that link to restricted web content. One of these links our Sharepoint site. The Sharepoint site has a link that allows our users to go to a 3rd party site(Cornerstone) to view training videos. When using the stock UIWebView, WKWebView, or SFSafariViewController the popup that displays the video is not shown. The only way that I can get this video to play in my app is to use OpenURL to open the Sharepoint site in Safari. The problem is that this is an Enterprise solution where we don't want to allow the employees free reign with the browser.
Is there a way to create a whitelist or to have some control over the searchbar or read the url that they are linking to and block it or redirect the user?
Unfortunately as it's farming out the URL Navigation external to your application there's not a lot you can do from within your app to restrict what they do after the fact, 'openURL' only returns a Boolean value as to it's success, and the only parameters that you can send to it are:
application - Reference to this application
(UIApplication.SharedApplication).
url - The NSUrl specified by the
calling application.
sourceApplication - The bundle ID of the calling
application.
annotation -Optional property-list data passed by the
calling application.
You can only access these if you override the 'openURL' method within your 'AppDelegate.cs' class, there is a set of options you can pass through as an override but again none of those allow you to restrict what the user does after the browser has opened.
If the devices are managed using something like 'meraki' or some other software to control the use of managed devices, then you would likely set up a 'group policy' styled set of restrictions however that's not really a Xamarin issue, and should be discussed with the network administrators.
That being said, I don't see any reason why you can't use the WebView1, that way you can handle it all within your application. Or alternative utilize custom renderers and pass in the direct video urls and commit to opening up the devices media player for streaming the content2.

I am hesitant to develop a Windows Phone app in the HTML/WinJS Universal App space because of the difficulty of building complex user controls. Before I go the XAML/C# route, I would like to find out if it is possible to use a user control built in XAML/C# inside of an HTML/WinJS view?
My initial feeling is that it is not possible due to XAML parsing not being available in the HTML space, but I am not certain that this is the case. Any thoughts?
Also, I am not interested in 3rd party solutions such as Xamerin. I am really trying to see if this is possible from a native approach.
No. The HTML and Xaml UI stacks in the Windows Runtime are separate and cannot be mixed. You can call non-UI C# or native Windows Runtime Components from JavaScript.
You can include HTML in a Xaml WebView, but there is no reverse hosting.

I'm trying out the mobile pattern, and have been trying to crate my own custom pattern that is now supposedly supported in Worklight 6.1.
When I tried creating jquery UI pattern, several issues:
1. The rich page editor for the pattern.html does not display the jquery component correctly on the design page (e.g button is displayed as link).
2. When I added a new page (into a jquery hybrid app) based on the custom UI pattern, it does not create a new page. It only adds the content code into the index.html, and I had to create the page myself.
Is this the correct behaviour?
I'm also having difficulty in creating Dojo UI pattern… as there is no Dojo component available on the palette when I open up the dojo > pattern.html file.
Do I have to add the libraries and code manually (i.e. no Drag-and-Drop)?
Appreciate any pointers on this.

1) For jQuery based patterns you need to append a jQuery core file to the project besides the jQuery mobile ones, for example, append this one: http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.10.2.js to your project, next to jquery mobile JS file. This is just because "UI Pattern" projects don't have this file available, but they need it to handle a proper preview.
2) For Dojo patterns, there is still no official support (for example Drag and drop), so even you can modify pattern.html to get some "insertable" code, you may still need some additional tuning to get a valid pattern.
When i use the Rich Page Editor with an existing project migrated from v5.0.6 workspace, i can't see any view in the "Mobile View" panel. Furthermore, i can't add any new views...

What can block the generation of the mobile view generation?
Is your project using JQuery at all? Or it is just Dojo?

I have a Metro app using a WebView control. I'm using NavigateToString to load a html file which may contain hyperlinks. What I then want to do is detect when one of these hyperlinks is selected and, instead of allowing navigation within the WebView control, to launch IE and view the page there instead.
Is this possible within the WinRT constraints, and if so, how?
So far, I've tried capturing the WebView_LoadCompleted() event, but although it does fire at the right time, I can't see any details about the URI from the NavigationEventArgs.
Unfortunately this isn't possible directly because WebView does not include events like Navigating (which were present in Windows Phone).
Luckily Nick Randolph (brilliant Windows Phone and Windows 8 developer) has created a workaround using script events. He's got a great write up on his blog:
