Java desktop application is not under project name in my IDE - ide

I am using a tutorial and it show there is a java desktop application under the project option in his IDE (after click on new project the new project page will open and under java category there is a java desktop application) . And I should chose it in my IDE and it is not there.why it is not there?what i should do to have it?
my IDE version is 7.3 . and in tutorial he is using version 6.
I will appreciate your answer .

You have actually answered your own question without realizing it. The reason that Java Desktop Application is not in your version of Netbeans (making an assumption here based on prior experience with this exact issue) is because it was deprecated as of version 7.1. Though it is more complex, you might want to look into learning how to use the Netbeans Platform instead as it is considered the replacement for what used to be labeled a Java Desktop Application in Netbeans.

Create GWT project in Intellij IDE

I'm beginner in using IntelliJ IDEA IDE and I want to create a new GWT project. I have added the GWT plugin to IntelliJ IDEA and now and I want to create a project. I googled but I didn't find a helpful tutorials or examples. Did you have guys a helpful tutorials to start. Thanks in advance.
Do not use the GWT project builders from IntelliJ or Eclipse. Both generate projects which use the same class path for client and server. In todays GWT development it is common to use a separate class path for client and server.
Depending on the server you prefer to use, choose:
https://github.com/tbroyer/gwt-maven-archetypes
in case you want to use Jetty or Tomcat on the server side or:
https://github.com/NaluKit/gwt-maven-springboot-archetype
in case you want to use Spring Boot.
How to create a new GWT project in IntelliJ
Create a new project: File → New... → Project...
Select Java EE (Legacy).
Select Java 8.
Do not use Java 9 or above unless you know what you're doing. Yes, GWT 2.8.2+ works with Java 11+, but you'll need to open some internal modules for it to work. If you just want to learn GWT, stay with Java 8.
In Additional Libraries and Frameworks, check ☑ Google Web Toolkit.
In GWT SDK, fill in the path to your GWT installation.
Check ☑ Create sample application and introduce a fully qualified class name for the main class.
Click Next, and fill in the rest of needed info for your new project (this has nothing to do with GWT).
You'll end up with something like this:
If you followed the steps closely, the sample project should be fully functional. IntelliJ should've created a Run configuration for you, too, so you can run the GWT app right away and see it in action:
This is all explained in the official help documentation for IntelliJ 2020.1, which was the last version to include GWT support out of the box.

How to enable and configure decompilation feature in Intellij 14?

IJ 14 advertised as having automatic decompilation. But that feature is not working for me (IJ ultimate 14.0.2)
Also - presuming that the decompilation not working can be fixed - I presume there were a way to optionally decompile classes? Maybe not every class do we want to have automatically decompiled.
Update the screenshot shows the Java Bytecode decompiler is enabled.
Maybe you have an old decompiler installed as well? I had the JD-IntelliJ plugin installed (it shows up in the plugin list as "Java Decompiler IntelliJ Plugin"), and did not get any files decompiled after I upgraded from IDEA 13. Once I deactivated JD-IntelliJ, however, the decompilation started working again. I guess the two decompilers got in each other's way.

Creating new dart project in Intellij IDEA 13.1.5 community edition

I wanted to play a little bit with the dart language and since recently I'm trying to switch from eclipse to IntelliJ IDEA I wanted to use that IDE. Unfortunately I can't figure out how I can create new dart project.
I've installed the dart plugin and installation looks fine - I have the plugin directory on my hard drive, dart's formatting options in settings etc. But I don't have any dart related option in the new project dialog (only java, maven, gradle, empty project etc.).
All resources I found told about using the new project dialog, or using WebStorm (like https://confluence.jetbrains.com/display/WI/Getting+started+with+Dart ).
Is it possible at all? Am I missing something?
I'm using IntelliJ IDEA 13.1.5 community edition.
EDIT:
Ticket created: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/WEB-14060
I recommend using Stagehand (http://stagehand.pub/). It's a great new command-line tool that creates well-formed Dart project folders, complete with pubspec.yaml and even build.dart for Polymer projects. The tool can create console apps, web apps, Polymer apps, and AngularDart apps.
It looks that there is a bug in community edition of 13.1.x and it won't be fixed (but it's already fixed in community edition version 14 and it works in any version of ultimate edition) - https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/WEB-14060

Eclipse Integrated development environment

I have an IDE for java (and android), also recently have downloaded the ide for php development.
Is it possible to use both (not at the same time) ide's from the same application?
Now i have eclipse juno for java and eclipse luna for php...
I managed to download c++ ide into the eclipse version that i used for java.
Basically look for p2 software repository of the IDE of your choice and paste the link into: work with, under install new software, under help.
Now i have 2 different IDE's working under same application (should be possible to have more)
Also a comment to the downvoter: It is not wise to downvote without explaining the reason of your action....
Some food for thought...

Eclipse plugin for play 2

I am a beginner with Play2 framework and Scala.
Is there any eclipse play 2 plugin available?
If yes, then please provide me the link for the same. I am used to Eclipse and have never used Scala before;hence in a confusion like how and where to start from. Looking at the Play2 Doc, sems like working in command prompt IDE which is very difficult (though I have tried yet)
Please let me know the eclipse plugin for Play2 or some other IDE helpful for this.
Regards,
There in no plugin as such for Eclipse.
Play! framework has nice set of tools for doing tasks such as following
creating new play project
running the project
deployment of the application
doing the continuous testing mode etc
Trust me, once you start using this, you gonna love it.
Beside you do not require any experience in Scala, as for Play framework you can use Java language, if you are comfortable with it (you can choose Java template while creating new Play project )
and also you can use IDE for syntax highlighting , code completion etc
I had a brief try of Play development using Eclipse and the Scala Plugin. I personally found it awkward and not terribly helpful. (The errors which the IDE reported were not always the same as the ones that the Play compiler reported, for example.)
I’ve had a lot more joy using the Intellij IDEA IDE, with its Scala plugin. As with Eclipse the current version of IDEA does not have specific support for Play Framework 2, but it does have specific support for Scala.
The next version of Intellij IDEA, v12, will have explicit support for Play Framework 2: http://www.jetbrains.com/idea/nextversion/index.html#Frameworks_Support (but only in the paid-for ‘Ultimate’ edition, not in the free ‘Community’ edition).
