I am using jquery-datatables-editable plugin with jQuery DataTables successfully. Is there a way to make editable cells UN-editable after they have been edited?
Basically I have a table with a checkbox, and once it is checked it needs to be uneditable. I am assuming this would be a 'fnOnCellUpdated' parameter or maybe part of a rowcallback function?
I feel like an idiot. It really is simpler than I thought:
"fnRowCallback": function( nRow, aData, iDisplayIndex ) {
var shop_ok_data = aData[15];
if(shop_ok_data == "checked"){
$('td:eq(10)', nRow).addClass("read_only");
}
return nRow;
},

Does anyone know if it is possible to omit / hide a column from the filter (list of checkboxes) on KoGrid? If so, how? (I'm hoping there's something that can be done to achieve this in the ColumnDefs property)
(Answering own question, in case it helps others). What I ended up doing, is subscribing to the Grid's showMenu() observable, and hiding elements that pertained to columns with labels that were empty string or only whitespace.
self.Grid().showMenu.subscribe(function (val) {
if (val != true) return;
var colDefId = 0;
self.gridOptions.columnDefs.forEach(function (colDef) {
if (!colDef) return;
if (!/\S/.test(colDef.displayName)) $($('.kgColListItem')[colDefId]).hide();
colDefId++;
});
});
I work with ag-grid and i found how to make a column disabled in the doc (https://www.ag-grid.com/documentation-main/documentation.php)
but after reading doc i never find how can i make juste one row disabled.
i have already try editable: params => params.data.active === true.
Maybe i didn't read right or that doesn't exist. Is someone here with some soluce track ?
TL;DR
There is no option in the library to make a single row disabled(both visually and keyboard event based), the only way we could make a single row disabled is by using a customCellRenderer for both header and subsequent cell checkboxes, this allows full control over the checkbox.
Besides this, there are three other ways where you can disable ag-grid checkbox based on value,
1)This is using checkBoxSelection param, it would empty the cell based on the condition.
checkboxSelection = function(params) {
if (params.data.yourProperty) {
return true;
}
return false;
}
This would only disabled click events and style it accordingly,
cellStyle: params => return params.data.status? {'pointer-events': 'none', opacity: '0.4' } : '';
3)This would disable it completely, as you have control over the input, but you may have to use string literals,
cellRenderer: (params) => {
if (params.value) {
return `<input type="checkbox" checked/>`;
}
else {
return `<input type="checkbox" />`;
}
}
You could use customCellRenderer(customCellRendererParams for props), headerCellRenderer(headerCellRendererParams for props) which accepts a complete JSX component.
I think this would be the most helpful, it allows you to choose the cellRenderer component based on the row value for that column. Its very well described in the ag-grid documentation.
I think ag-grid has single row checkbox disablement available natively: https://www.ag-grid.com/angular-data-grid/row-selection/#example-forcing-checkboxes-as-selected
I am new to the jQuery dataTables plugin found on https://datatables.net/
I am trying to implement a custom filter for the table:
Basically, when I click a button, a custom filtering function will test the value of column #1 (numeric value) for all rows, and if the value in the column < 50 for a row, the row stays, otherwise the row is hidden.
The concept should be very simple, but I can't seem to find the right way to use the API:
column.filter() returns an array of column value
column.search() can only accept text data (not function)
What's the API that can achieve the effect?
Is there anything like the following?
var api = $('#table').DataTable();
api.column(1).data().somefilterfunction(function (val, ind) {
return parseFloat(val) < 50;
}).draw();
Have you seen this article in the documentation -> https://datatables.net/examples/plug-ins/range_filtering.html ??
You can create a custom filtering function on-the-fly, triggered by a button :
<button id="filter">filter < 50</button>
script :
$("#filter").click(function() {
$.fn.dataTable.ext.search.push(
function( settings, data, dataIndex ) {
return parseFloat(data[0])<50
? true
: false
}
);
table.draw();
$.fn.dataTable.ext.search.pop();
});
demo -> http://jsfiddle.net/dpwgqs2o/
Notice that the filter is created inside the click handler itself, and removed again as soon the table is drawn. This makes the filter temporary, i.e when the user click on a column header, the filter is cleared. If you want a permanent filter, make the filter global and do not remove it.
Is it possible to have a free text search box on top of a dojo enhancedgrid, which I can type in text and it immediately filter out rows that do not contain the text?
I am aware of the filter plugin and that is not what I prefer.
Thanks so much!
If depends on how you grid view is bind. If it's bind to a ItemFileReadStore you can easily filter it:
store.fetch({ query: { filterCol: filterValue }, onComplete: function completed(items,findResult) {
store = new dojo.data.ItemFileReadStore({ data: { items: items, identifier: 'YourStoreIdentifier'} });}
});
grid.setQuery({name: 'a%'})
will call server on a JsonRest store with query string name=...
dojo newbie - giving it a shot.
After submitting a form, If an error is returned from the server I would like to show that message on the dijit.form.ValidationTextBox
var user_email = dijit.byId("login_user_email");
user_email.set("invalidMessage", data["result"]["user_email"]);
//need to force show the tooltip but how???
Any help much appreciated.
See it in action at jsFiddle.
Just show tooltip:
var textBox = bijit.byId("validationTextBox");
dijit.showTooltip(
textBox.get("invalidMessage"),
textBox.domNode,
textBox.get("tooltipPosition"),
!textBox.isLeftToRight()
);
Temporarily switch textBox validator, force validation, restore the original validator:
var originalValidator = textBox.validator;
textBox.validator = function() {return false;}
textBox.validate();
textBox.validator = originalValidator;
Or do both at once.
I think you can show the tooltip via myVTB.displayMessage('this is coming from back end validation'); method
you need to do the validation in the validator-method. like here http://docs.dojocampus.org/dijit/form/ValidationTextBox-tricks
you also need to focus the widget to show up the message! dijit.byId("whatever").focus()
#arber solution is the best when using the new dojo. Just remember to set the focus to the TextBox before calling the "displayMessage" method.
I am using dojo 1.10 which works create as follows:
function showCustomMessage(textBox, message){
textBox.focus();
textBox.set("state", "Error");
textBox.displayMessage(message);
}
Dojo reference guid for ValidationTextBox: https://dojotoolkit.org/reference-guide/1.10/dijit/form/ValidationTextBox.html
I know this question is ancient, but hopefully this'll help someone. Yes, you should use validators, but if you have a reason not to, this will display the message and invalidate the field:
function(textbox, state /*"Error", "Incomplete", ""*/, message) {
textbox.focus();
textbox.set("state", state);
textbox.set("message", message);
}
You can call directly the "private" function:
textBox._set('state', 'Error');
You get the same result as #phusick suggested but with less code and arguably in a more direct and clean way.
Notes:
_set is available to ValidationTextBox as declared on its base class dijit/_WidgetBase.
Live demo:
http://jsfiddle.net/gibbok/kas7aopq/
dojo.require("dijit.form.Button");
dojo.require("dijit.form.ValidationTextBox");
dojo.require("dijit.Tooltip");
dojo.ready(function() {
var textBox = dijit.byId("validationTextBox");
dojo.connect(dijit.byId("tooltipBtn"), "onClick", function() {
dijit.showTooltip(
textBox.get('invalidMessage'),
textBox.domNode,
textBox.get('tooltipPosition'), !textBox.isLeftToRight()
);
});
dojo.connect(dijit.byId("validatorBtn"), "onClick", function() {
// call the internal function which set the widget as in error state
textBox._set('state', 'Error');
/*
code not necessary
var originalValidator = textBox.validator;
textBox.validator = function() {return false;}
textBox.validate();
textBox.validator = originalValidator;
*/
});
});
