validate with inlineditbox and dgrid - dojo

I searched for a widget to validate forms and found only validateTextBox widget, but I need a widget to validate the inlineEditBox and the Dgrid.
Is there any validation tools other than validateTextBox that do the same thing?

Hmm, both InlineEditBox and dgrid should be able to use ValidationTextBox, I think. Did you try something like:
A <span data-dojo-type="dijit/InlineEditBox"
data-dojo-props="editor:'dijit/form/ValidationTextBox',
editorParams:{regExp:'\\w+'}">chicken</span> crossed the road.

How can I access a button to click it with following code in selenium webdriver?

There are many buttons sharing the same class.
May have to go with clicking the link /account/logout'.
This is the code I'm trying to use:
input class="btnRed text-uppercase fo_white" value="Logout" onclick="window.location.href='/account/logout';" type="button"
Hard to say because you didn't provide enough info, but you could probably make it work by using value attribute. Something like this if you are using java.
driver.findElement(By.cssSelector("[value='Logout']")).click();
Not pretty solution, but give it a try:
driver.findElement(By.cssSelector(".btnRed.text-uppercase.fo_white")).click();
Looking at your HTML DOM this command will work for you:
driver.findElement(By.xpath("//input[#value='Logout']")).click();
Let me know if it works for you.
Looking at your HTML, this should work
driver.findElement(By.xpath("//input[#value='Logout'][#type='button']")).click();
Let me know if it works.
Is your element visible/enabled? In order to select an element, it must be present in your DOM. If the element is activated through an event, it cannot be selected until the event occurs.
Take a look at this post. This other post also have good ideas.

Dgrid grouping based on checkbox and grid values

I am wondering how to use dgrid so that I can get a structure like in attached image. I am using dgrid, dstore and dojo 1.10 .
I need to create folder type structure when I check the checkbox or any structure which is supported by dgrid. Any help how to proceed further would be great and appreciated.
Have you looked into using a the dgrid tree plugin? There's quite a bit of useful information here and some examples here and here.
What you're trying to achieve seems like it should be possible with just using the regular tree plugin but I could be misinterpreting your question. Correct me if I've missed anything

Dojo: NumberSpinner Issue

I created this NumberSpinner widget:
<input name="form_action_fy" id="form_action_fy" value="2010"
data-dojo-type="dijit.form.NumberSpinner"
data-dojo-smallDelta="1"
data-dojo-largeDelta="1"
data-dojo-constraints="{min:2010,max:2030,places:0}" />
When I load the page, the widget shows as expected. However, there are a couple of issues:
The value is empty and not 2010.
When I press the decrease button on the empty widget, I get 9000000000000000 and when I increase on the empty widget, I get -9000000000000000. It doesn't stick to the min/max specified.
And, the smallDelta and largeDelta do not work either.
What am I doing wrong here?
Thanks
Eric
In the new widget attribute style the properties that are passed to the constructor function are all put in the data-dojo-props attribute, instead of the ad-hoc attributes of old. In the cases where the docs still point to the older declarative style you might get better luck by looking for the programatic style examples instead.
<input name="form_action_fy" id="form_action_fy"
data-dojo-type="dijit.form.NumberSpinner"
data-dojo-props="
value:2010,
smallDelta:5,
largeDelta:10,
constraints:{min:2010,max:2200,places:0}"
/>
Live example: http://jsfiddle.net/missingno/cQfFt/
Do note that in Dojo 1.6 a couple of widgets are still in transition so some attributes might need to be duplicated in prop and attribute form. Things should be allright in 1.7 though.

Dojo simple lightbox

I've searched the web for a simple lightbox using dojo, and I've had no luck whatsoever!
Most of the examples use the dojo Dialog which IMHO is quite fugly.
I would like the ability just to display an arbitrary div with dimmed background, and I'll be in charge complete of what content is shown.
Anyone have any ideas?
Have you looked in dojox.image? There are both Lightbox and LightboxDialog variations. The plain lightbox doesn't have much styling. The Dialog one probably offers a choice of Dijit themes.
Look in the svn trunk > /dojox/image/tests. There are plenty of examples.

Tip : Prevent multiple instances of Lightbox ! Use a singleton instead !

Dojo Grid Template

In asp.net the DataGrid supports templates. You can provide your own template and have the grid fill the data in your template.
With Dojo Grid, it seems like I can't make my own template outside of the the rigid simplistic cell style grid that Dojo provides.
Does anyone know a way to use a custom template with Dojo Grid? Specifically, with Dojo you're forced to use a cell that corresponds to a data item. I'm looking to use a table as a template with any styling that I choose (rows,columns,rowspans,colspans, more than one data items in a single cell, etc).
Any clues please?
Thanks
Firstly, it sounds like everything you want is available by customizing the grid. You can do nesting of cells and even have things like Filtering Selects in rows. Unfortunately the docs on this are not awesome so it takes Googling and trial and error if you want very customized features.
Secondly, because of the OO nature of Dojo you can always use inheritance to create mixes of various widgets. Specifically the _templated class allows you to specify an HTML template for your widget, which themselves can included templated widgets.
If that sounds non-trivial, you're right, which is why I would suggest digging deeper into the Enhanced grid and probably open up the code before trying to write something yourself.
I can tell you that I struggled getting it working correctly, but I have hence been pleasantly surprised by features that I needed that I thought I would need to build myself but were built into the grid.
