Is it possible to link Google Drive and Google Plus? - google-plus

Is there any API that can link Google Drive and Google Plus - to simplify the question, is it allowed for any circle member to see someone's files shared in Google Plus without any explicit uploader consents?
Also, when profile (such as about me) changes, does this change get shown to others without others entering someone's profile?

It depends on who you are sharing changes with, specifically which circles. From the faq regarding sharing Google drive documents:
Select a circle or type the name of individual people you'd like to share your post with.
A profile change is not broadcast to users (as far as I can tell), nor does it ask you to share.

How to display my organization details on right side of the google SERP?

When searching on Google, some organization details will display on the right side of the search result page that are realetd to my keywords.
Anybody knows how to display our data on that side?
See this example:
I found this great resource that goes into step by step instructions on how to do this. source: https://www.searchenginejournal.com/how-to-optimize-your-site-for-googles-answer-box/166084/
Here are the quick highlights:
To summarize, here’s what you should do if you have a website and want to get clicks from search in relation to a Google Answer Box.
Start by finding out if there is a Google Answer Box that relates to
content on your website or content that you could create for your
website, as shown in the examples above.
Create content that matches the Google Answer Box, goes into more
depth, and make sure it is using the correct markup.
Aim to be either the source of the Google Answer Box or the closest
to the Google Answer Box as you can get.
Make sure your page’s SEO title and meta description tell the
searcher you have even better information than the Google Answer Box
to encourage them to click on your link. Also, make sure it includes
the query the person would search to find the Google Answer Box.
Build links to your Google Answer Box content using anchor text that
matches the Google Answer Box call to action (if you have software)
or the query the person would search to find the Google Answer Box.
I am playing around with some free Wordpress plugins that automatically add schema. You can view more on SEO and other marketing help on my blog here: http://www.renowebdesigner.com
First, you need to have GMB Page for your website and make sure that your profile is 100% updated. It is called a knowledge graph. Basically, there are two types of graph,
Local Knowledge Graph
Branded Knowledge Graph
I hope that you have updated the following things on GMB page:
Business name
Business category & sub-category
Services which your offering
Contact num
Website link & appointment link
Explain about your business
Mark the exact location on the map
Add labels
To implement the knowledge graph for your business. I'm not aware of which website platform you're using.
Case1: If you're using WP website you can directly download knowledge graph plugin and update all your social links. At the same time make sure that your website doesn't have any issues. Check with structured data testing tool.
Case2: If you developed a website on another platform I request you to implement schema.org on the website with the help of the developer. The complete guide is available in webmaster tools.
Hope I have answered your question.
That’s coming from Google’s Knowledge Graph.
If you are the "authority" (e.g., for a search for "google", the authority is Google), structured data on your site can be used by Google to show more information in that sidebar. That would be Knowledge Graph cards (details). An example is Corporate Contacts.

Is there a way to download Google Plus photos from the command line?

I have a large number of photo albums on Google Plus. I am looking for an efficient way to download them. Had I put them on Google Drive, I could have used skicka, which has a few annoyances but overall works very well.
I'm looking for a similar command-line style interface that will allow me to download an album at a time in a more scriptable way than just going through and clicking all the links in Google Plus.
Does anyone know if a tool like this exists? If I could make my Google Plus photos appear in Google Drive this wouldn't be a problem, but unfortunately that doesn't appear to be possible.
You can change a setting in Goggle Drive and still use skicka (as you suggested initially) to access the photos then.
How Google Drive works with Google Photos covers two interesting aspects:
View your Google Drive photos & videos in Google Photos
...
Organize your photos & videos into Google Drive folders
The 3rd section provides clear hints about how to make Google Photos appear inside My Drive as a folder. (The 2nd section is also supposed to describe this, but it's not useful for the automation we are looking for.)
Namely:
Go to .
Turn on the setting that creates a Google Photos folder in your "My Drive" folder (if you already turned this setting on, you can skip
this step).
On the right, click the "gear" icon > Settings.
Next to
"Automatically put your Google Photos into a folder in My Drive,"
check the box and then Done.
After this there is indeed such a folder in My Drive, and it accessible through skicka as well:
$ skicka ls /'Google Photos'/
shows all the photos. (And they must be downloadable, of course.)
(BTW, that's your question where I learned about skicka from, thanks a lot! Now I'm using it to upload directories with folders into Google Drive and Google Photos. It's a pity that the problem of creating albums with a tool or via Google Drive remains unsolved.)
Use Google Takeout to download them all at once. Just pick Google Photos and uncheck anything else that's there. I don't know of any other way to batch download them all.

Track how often link was clicked

I am currently running a website where I promote different coffees from pubs in my city. On my website I have links to the different coffees.
I have recently seen some of this links being shared on Facebook and other social networks.
So I was wondering if it is somehow possible to track how often one of this links are being clicked?
I have tried using redirects to my site but Facebook uses my pictures in the previews, whereas I don't want this because it is misleading.
I have seen that this works with Bitly so it must somehow be possible?
And there are of course different services providing this, but it would be nice if it would run without any foreign services.
So basically I am looking for a solution which will let me know how often a link, origination from my site was clicked in Facebook, Google+ or any other forum.
There definitely is. Try looking into Google Analytics, it will show you show much data from your personal websites and links that it can blow your mind! Here is the link
Google Analytics helps you analyze visitor traffic and paint a
complete picture of your audience and their needs. Track the routes
people take to reach you and the devices they use to get there with
reporting tools like Traffic Sources. Learn what people are looking
for and what they like with In-Page Analytics. Then tailor your
marketing and site content for maximum impact.
You can even get a free package to use!
Hope this helps!
Yes you have plenty of analytical options.
Something as straight forward as Google Analytics for example.
If you are using cpanel on your hosts server, you even have options such as AWSTATS, which will also provide information.
If all else fails you can even use post data stored in your apache / nginx logs.
Since you have amended your question you might want to check out this tool. It is not google. :)
It is called Click Meter and performs Link Tracking and provides click reports, etc

Hosting Google Plus Communities on My Website

Is it possible to embed a google community into a website page?
This way our clients can benefit from content and all other features in our website, yet be able to collaborate using Google Communities.
Ideally I would like to grab a Javascript code just like +1 button and paste it into my website page, add an iframe or something of this nature!
UPDATE:
Sounds like if I try to be convincing, I may be able to influence some decisions!
More details: Our website services offers login with Google using Google OAuth, This way the user is either logged in or is forced to login with Google to get access to private areas of our customer portal, where you can review the status of Support Tickets, submit new support tickets, have access to knowledge base, documents, blogs, etc.
We have incorporated all sort of social plugins into the blogs, product catalogs and so forth.
It would be fantastic is the users can have access to a community (Forum or Discussion Board) within the same place. Google Community seem to be the tool but in the wrong place.
No such widget exists at this time, but it's an interesting idea. If you want to share more details on precisely what you're looking for, you can file the issue here: https://code.google.com/p/google-plus-platform/. The more details you can provide, the more likely that, if we decide to implement this feature, we'll end up with something that you want.

how to have google sites pages display things specific to the currently logged in user

I've been wondering for a while if I can have google sites pages display things specific to the currently logged in user. I keep googling for a solution, but never come up with anything conclusive.
Basically I use Google sites for my university class websites. I'd love it if I could display things specific to an individual student, such as, you have completed homeworks 1,2 and 3 - now it's time to work on homework number 4
Many thanks in advance
I've search in Google and found this:
You can use Page-level permissions to display certain pages to certain
users. You can use Google Apps Script to detect the signed in user
too, but what you could display in Google Apps Script is limited. I'd
go for Page-level permissions.
(Link to that post on Google community support site.)
I think this is a good start for you.
