Hi all,
I need to create an html5 page where it reads from an file and shows content on html5 page. This is working fine when i run it on visual studio.
But when i copy these to some other folder and run from there it does not work on most of browsers. Tried it on IE 9, firefox and chrome. I need to write this on CD so that it autoruns when i insert cd. Please find code above. I know many have asked the same question but could not find solution for this.

This is answer for IE. I have it on Win 7 Pro, IE 11. I started where you are -same issue and worked it for IE.
xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");
xmlhttp.open("GET", "myXMLfile.xml", false);
xmlhttp.send();
var parser = new DOMParser();
var xmlDoc = parser.parseFromString(xmlhttp.responseText, 'text/xml');
// Now this works
alert(xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName("Item")[0]);

MSE WebM video with no audio

I've written a MSE video player and it's loading WebMs. These are loading well, however I have a problem with video files with no audio tracks.
I've tried changing the codec depending on if there is audio
mediaSource.addSourceBuffer(`video/webm; ${videoHasAudio(asset) ? 'codecs="vp9,vorbis"' : 'codecs="vp9"'}`)`
And I thought this was working but now isn't. How do I run silent WebMs in MSE?
I have added sample MSE project here:
https://github.com/thowfeeq178/MediaSourceExtention
checkout the example in the github
overview:
we need to add one for video and one for audio like below:
// BBB : https://dash.akamaized.net/akamai/bbb_30fps/bbb_30fps.mpd
var baseUrl = "https://dash.akamaized.net/akamai/bbb_30fps/";
var initUrl = baseUrl + "bbb_30fps_480x270_600k/bbb_30fps_480x270_600k_0.m4v";
var initAudioUrl = baseUrl + "bbb_a64k/bbb_a64k_0.m4a";
var templateUrl =
baseUrl + "bbb_30fps_480x270_600k/bbb_30fps_480x270_600k_$Number$.m4v";
var templateUrlForAudio = baseUrl + "bbb_a64k/bbb_a64k_$Number$.m4a";
var sourceBuffer;
var audioSourceBuffer;
var index = 0;
var audioIndex = 0;
var numberOfChunks = 159;
var video = document.querySelector("video");
var ms = new MediaSource();
function onPageLoad() {
console.log("page loaded ..");
if (!window.MediaSource) {
console.error("No Media Source API available");
return;
}
// making source controlled by JS using MS
video.src = window.URL.createObjectURL(ms);
ms.addEventListener("sourceopen", onMediaSourceOpen);
}
function onMediaSourceOpen() {
// create source buffer
sourceBuffer = ms.addSourceBuffer('video/mp4; codecs="avc1.4d401f"');
audioSourceBuffer = ms.addSourceBuffer('audio/mp4; codecs="mp4a.40.5"');
// when ever one segment is loaded go for next
sourceBuffer.addEventListener("updateend", nextSegment);
audioSourceBuffer.addEventListener("updateend", nextAudioSegment);
// fire init segemnts
GET(initUrl, appendToBuffer);
GET(initAudioUrl, appendToAudioBuffer);
// play
video.play();
}
// get next segment based on index and append, once everything loaded unlisten to the event
function nextSegment() {
var url = templateUrl.replace("$Number$", index);
GET(url, appendToBuffer);
index++;
if (index > numberOfChunks) {
sourceBuffer.removeEventListener("updateend", nextSegment);
}
}
// get next audio segment based on index and append, once everything loaded unlisten to the event
function nextAudioSegment() {
var audioUrl = templateUrlForAudio.replace("$Number$", audioIndex);
GET(audioUrl, appendToAudioBuffer);
audioIndex++;
if (index > numberOfChunks) {
audioSourceBuffer.removeEventListener("updateend", nextAudioSegment);
}
}
// add to existing source
function appendToBuffer(videoChunk) {
if (videoChunk) {
sourceBuffer.appendBuffer(new Uint8Array(videoChunk));
}
}
function appendToAudioBuffer(audioChunk) {
if (audioChunk) {
audioSourceBuffer.appendBuffer(new Uint8Array(audioChunk));
}
}
// just network thing
function GET(url, callback) {
var xhr = new XMLHttpRequest();
xhr.open("GET", url);
xhr.responseType = "arraybuffer";
xhr.onload = function(e) {
if (xhr.status != 200) {
console.warn("Unexpected status code " + xhr.status + " for " + url);
return false;
}
callback(xhr.response);
};
xhr.send();

Can you pretty print IHtmlContent?

If I have a IHtmlContent can I pretty print it?
Example:
var html = new HtmlString("<article><h2>Hello!</h2></article>");
I want it pretty printed with line breaks and indention into:
<article>
<h2>Hello!</h2>
</article>
I do not want:
<article><h2>Hello!</h2></article>
You could try to JavaScript to add the line breaks and indention into, then, use <pre> tag to render the html content. Please check the following sample:
Index.cshtml:
#{
var html ="<article><h2>Hello!</h2></article>";
}
<div id="printdiv">
#Html.Raw(html)
</div>
<div id="output">
</div>
<input type='button' id='btn' value='Print' onclick='printDiv();'>
#section Scripts{
<script>
function printDiv() {
var divToPrint = document.getElementById('printdiv');
//display the pretty html content in the web page.
document.getElementById("output").innerHTML = "<pre>" + process(divToPrint.innerHTML).replace(/&/g, "&").replace(/</g, "<").replace(/>/g, ">") + "</pre>";
//create a new window to print the div content.
var newWin = window.open('', 'Print-Window');
newWin.document.open();
newWin.document.write('<html><body onload="window.print()"><pre>' + process(divToPrint.innerHTML).replace(/&/g, "&").replace(/</g, "<").replace(/>/g, ">") + '</pre></body></html>');
newWin.document.close();
setTimeout(function () { newWin.close(); }, 10);
}
function process(str) {
var div = document.createElement('div');
div.innerHTML = str.trim();
return format(div, 0).innerHTML;
}
function format(node, level) {
var indentBefore = new Array(level++ + 1).join(' '),
indentAfter = new Array(level - 1).join(' '),
textNode;
for (var i = 0; i < node.children.length; i++) {
textNode = document.createTextNode('\n' + indentBefore);
node.insertBefore(textNode, node.children[i]);
format(node.children[i], level);
if (node.lastElementChild == node.children[i]) {
textNode = document.createTextNode('\n' + indentAfter);
node.appendChild(textNode);
}
}
return node;
}
</script>
}
The result like this:
You can parse it XML with XDocument.Parse then use XmlWriter with its settings set to Indent to true. Worked for me on my HTML too.
var html = new HtmlString("<article><h2>Hello!</h2></article>");
using var writer = new StringWriter();
html.WriteTo(writer, HtmlEncoder.Default);
var htmlString = writer.ToString();
var settings = new XmlWriterSettings
{
OmitXmlDeclaration = true,
Encoding = Encoding.UTF8,
Indent = true,
};
var sb = new StringBuilder();
using (var writer = XmlWriter.Create(sb, settings))
{
XDocument.Parse(htmlString).Save(writer);
}
Console.WriteLine(sb.ToString());

Multiple Bing Map Pushpins from SQL not showing in Firefox & Chrome but do in IE

I'm displaying a Bing Map (v7) in my Webmatrix2 website with a series of pushpins & infoboxes drawn from a SQL Express database using a JSON enquiry.
While the maps appears in all 3 browsers I'm testing (IE, FF & Chrome) the pushpins are sometimes not showing in FF & Chrome, particularly if I refresh with Cntrl+F5
This is my first JSON and Bing Maps app so expect there's a few mistakes.
Any suggestions on how to improve the code and get display consistency?
#{

$.each(schools, function (index, school) {

var pinLocation = new Microsoft.Maps.Location(school.SchoolLat, school.SchoolLon);
var NewPin = new Microsoft.Maps.Pushpin(pinLocation);
NewPin.title = school.SchoolName;
NewPin.description = "-- Learn More --";
pinLayer.push(NewPin); //add pushpin to pinLayer
Microsoft.Maps.Events.addHandler(NewPin, 'mouseover', displayInfobox);
}
});
infoboxLayer.push(pinInfobox);

});
})
function displayInfobox(e) {
if (e.targetType == "pushpin") {
var pin = e.target;
var html = "<span class='infobox_title'>" + pin.title + "</span><br/>" + pin.description;
pinInfobox.setOptions({
visible: true,
offset: new Microsoft.Maps.Point(-33, 20),
htmlContent: pushpinFrameHTML.replace('{content}', html)
});
//set location of infobox
pinInfobox.setLocation(pin.getLocation());
}
}
function closeInfobox() {
pinInfobox.setOptions({ visible: false });
}

var geoLocationProvider = new Microsoft.Maps.GeoLocationProvider(map);
geoLocationProvider.getCurrentPosition();
}
</script>
<body onload="getMap();">
<div id="map" style="position:relative; width:800px; height:600px;"></div>
<div>
<input type="button" value="Find Nearest Schools" onclick="getCurrentLocation();" />
</div>
</body>
The JSON file is simply
#{
var db = Database.Open("StarterSite");
var sql = #"SELECT * FROM Schools WHERE SchoolLon != ' ' AND SchoolLon != 'null' ";
var data = db.Query(sql);
Json.Write(data, Response.Output);
}
Add your pinLayer, infobox, and infoboxLayer before calling the AddData function and see if that makes a difference. Also verify that school.SchoolLat and school.SchoolLon are numbers and not a string version of a number. If they are a string, then use parseFloat to turn them into a number. Other than that everything looks fine.

Google maps infowindow doesnt show up anymore

Good morning,
A former colleague of mine had created an application where you could search by zipcode and then placed markers on the map (google maps) in a radius of 5-40 km.
The locations are stores in a radius of 40 km from the zip code where you are looking for.
The function itself is still working only the info window with the information does not work anymore.
I have several websites running with this application but for all sites the infowindow is not working anymore. Could it be that Google itself has made adjustments in the api and I also need to adjust something somewhere?
This is the code that my colleague has put together and there is nothing changed but it does not work anymore ... Is there someone here know anything about the problem because I can not figure out myself..
<script type="text/javascript">
var geocoder;
var map;
function initialize() {
geocoder = new google.maps.Geocoder();
var myOptions = {
zoom: <?php
if(is_array($postcodevelden) && count($postcodevelden) > 0 && !empty($_POST['address']))
{
switch($radius)
{
case "5":
echo "12";
break;
case "10":
echo "11";
break;
case "15":
case "20":
echo "10";
break;
case "30":
case "40":
echo "9";
break;
}
}
else
{
echo "7";
}
?>,
center: new google.maps.LatLng(<?php if(is_array($postcodevelden) && count($postcodevelden) > 0) { echo $lat.", ".$lon; } else { echo "52.2008737173322, 5.25146484375"; } ?>),
mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP
}
map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"), myOptions);
<?php
if(is_array($adressen) AND count($adressen) > 0)
{
foreach($adressen as $adres)
{
$afstand = round((6371 * acos(sin(deg2rad($lat)) * sin(deg2rad($adres->locatie_lat)) + cos(deg2rad($lat)) * cos(deg2rad($adres->locatie_lat)) * cos(deg2rad($adres->locatie_lon) - (deg2rad($lon))))), 2);
?>
addMarker(<?php echo $adres->locatie_lat.", ".$adres->locatie_lon.", '".$adres->locatie_naam."', '".$adres->locatie_straat."', '".$adres->locatie_postcode."', '".$adres->locatie_plaats."', '".$adres->locatie_telefoon."', '".$afstand."'"; ?>);
<?php
}
}
?>
}
var infowindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow();
function addMarker(lat, lon, naam, straat, postcode, plaats, telefoon, afstand)
{
var marker = new google.maps.Marker({
position: new google.maps.LatLng(lat, lon),
map: map,
icon: "images/pincard/wheel-icon.png",
title: naam
});
google.maps.event.addListener(marker, 'mouseover', function() {
var contentString = '<div>'+
'<b style="border-bottom: 1px solid #000000;">' + naam + '</b><br/>'+
'Afstand (hemelsbreed): ' + afstand + ' km<br/>' +
straat + '<br/>' +
postcode + ' ' + plaats + '<br/>';
if(telefoon != "")
{
contentString = contentString + 'Telefoonnr: ' + telefoon;
}
contentString = contentString + '</div>';
infowindow.content = contentString;
infowindow.open(map, marker);
});
google.maps.event.addListener(marker, 'mouseout', function(){
infowindow.close(map);
});
}
google.maps.event.addDomListener(window, 'load', initialize);
</script>
I call the api like this:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false"></script>
If anyone has any idea why the info window to all websites stops working then I would love to hear that because I do not understand why it no longer works.
Thanks in advance for any effort
Kind regards,
Joep
PS: this is a website for example:
intertyre...php?lang=nl&p=4
I was bitten by the same problem and went Googling for an answer.
Found the answer to my problem -- it looks like Google may have tightened up its infoWindow API a bit forcing you to set
the .content member via a proper Set() function.
Try replacing the line
infowindow.content = contentString;
with
infowindow.setContent(contentString);
and see if that helps. I did that with my code and that fixed the breakage.

Getting storageVolume to work in JavaScript

In his blog post, Christian Cantrell shows how to use STORAGE_VOLUME_MOUNT in ActionScript.
He has written a Flex app called FileTile.
I would like to see a JavaScript alert box that says “You have inserted “ + e.storageVolume.name, and “You have removed a storage volume”.
