PayPal Website payment pro not sending email to merchant when purchased using credit card - e-commerce

We have implemented PayPal Website Payments pro. Everything seems to work like a charm.
But, my merchant ain't receiving the emails from Paypal when the user purchases the item using their CreditCard. But, when purchased with their PayPal account, the emails are coming through fine.
Is this the normal behavior? Or, is there something that I need to fix in my settings ?

The seller account should get the normal email notification that they've received a PayPal payment, but no email would be sent to the buyer. This is intentional because buyers who specifically request CC instead of PayPal might be upset if they start getting PayPal notifications.
When using Payments Pro it's generally left up to you to create and send your own email receipts/notifications.
That said, you mentioned here that it's your merchant account that's not receiving anything, which would typically be referring to the seller account. If that's what's happening then I'd recommend calling PayPal support or submitting a ticket at www.paypal.com/mts and let them know what's going on.

PayPal and payment implementation

I am designing a website that accepts payment through simple PayPal or Stripe buttons, but also has a section that pays out users through PayPal. What is the best way to do this?
Current setup: The user builds up coins through an action (NDA won't allow me to discuss in detail) and when their coins reach a certain amount, they can cash out in real $. I have designed this flow: Pay Me Now Button -> Screen with PayPal email address input. Repeat email for typos, then Confirm Button -> Success screen
However, the client would prefer a direct link out to PayPal instead of manual input of email addresses. The reasoning is that they would prefer it being arranged through PP's service to reduce manual errors and typing out. As far as I am aware the only way to get paid is through writing down an email address/phone number. I have researched PayPal.me buttons but it still isn't making sense. Maybe there's another service altogether that I can suggest to the client for paying out users in a no-friction way?
I'm looking at how user testing sites pay people, but not getting very far.
If the money is in your client's PayPal account and they wish to send it to a user's email address (that may or may not have a PayPal account already), this can be automated with PayPal Payouts.
If the user does not have a PayPal account already they will receive an email notification and have 30 days to create an account or add the email to an existing account. If they don't, the payment will be refunded automatically.

PayPal Sandbox transactions are not showing for seller

I've used my live PayPal account to login to developer.paypal.com where I created 2 new accounts buyer# (personal) and seller# (business). I've implemented a PayPal plugin for a shop (CubeCart + PayPal Standard Payment Gateway plugin https://www.cubecart.com/extensions/payment-gateways/paypal-standard). When I complete an order (sandbox testing) I sign using buyer# email and password and complete the order. I can then click to view account and it shows "payment to", "unclaimed" and the amount I've paid. When I logout of this account and login as my buyer#, I see no transactions. If I log back into developer.paypal.com and go to transactions under "Sandbox" section and select any of the email addresses I see the same statement for all of them "You don't have any transactions".
If I login to sandbox.paypal.com using james-facilitator# account (business) there are no transactions here either.
If I login to sanbox.paypal.com using james-buyer# account (personal) there is only the one initial transaction here for the initial 9,999 funds
I've obviously missed something but I can't think what, I'm not sure how a sandbox account knows who it's seller should be but I've checked both sandbox seller accounts. I find it strange that the buyer account I used has registered the transaction but it seems like it's orphaned as there isn't any other record of it any where else including the developer.paypal.com sandbox transaction. I've tried this several times to see if I could get it working and I've also allowed for 24 hours just in case there was a delay somewhere.
I just want to be able to test transactions before going live.
Any help/advice?
Much appreciated :)
Cheers
James
Solved - silly really now I know but it was simply the email address I used to test the API. I used my main live account and I should have used the fake email address in my API call. Since my live controls the test accounts I assumed that this should have been used.

PayPal - Need Payments Pro to Test Mass Pay?

This seems like an easy question, but as a developer do I need payments pro on my business account to test out the mass pay API for a client? The app will eventually sit on their PayPal account and they have payments pro. Asking because I keep getting authentication errors and thought it may be because of this?
No. Your customer's PayPal account needs to get approved for Mass Payments, then they need to give you third party Mass Payments permissions. And you call the Mass Payments API on your customer's behalf. They just need to contact PayPal CS to get the approval process started.

Confused as to which PayPal api to use for generic payments?

I'm building a small cart app in PHP which needs to have PayPal integrated into it for payments.
Checking the PP developer site you get 100 different APIs for every kind of job, however there is no clear answer as to which is the GENERIC API I should use to accept payments in the classic manner most webshops implement:
1. Client clicks pay
2. Redirected to PP site where he is asked to login.
3. After login he is presented with confirmation, he clicks OK.
4. Browser redirects back to my cart which presents user with a "Thank you" message, order code etc, while in the background a request is sent to my cart with the transaction credentials (transaction id, success status etc).
By the way, I'm not looking for Express Checkout since in this case PP provides the shipping info.
You could use the DoDirectPayment API to process payments. This will keep the buyer on your site, and they will enter in the information on your site. Then you will pass the details over to PayPal through an API call, and PayPal will then send the response back to you if the payment is approved.
If you are not wanting to use the DoDirectPayment API and are wanting to direct the buyer over to PayPal's pages to complete the payment but do not want to use Express Checkout, you could use PayPal Payments Adv/Payflow.
Express Checkout is what you want. Shipping info can be set on your end or Paypal end. It makes no difference.

PayPal IPN for CC

When I'm testing payment on my site using paypal account I'm receiving PDT (silent post) and then notification (IPN). But when I'm testing payment using credit card, I'm getting only silent post and no notification from IPN service. Also I can't find any sale transaction where has been used credit card on sandbox.paypal and no notifications in IPN History, but it (transaction) exists on manager.paypal. Also no charges to merchant account. Is it fine? Can anybody tell me how should I check that money transferred successfully and transaction completed when used cc for payment?
Thanks,
Eugene
You may have PayPal set up to handle your Express Checkout transactions, and a 3rd processor set up to handle your credit card transactions on your test Payflow account which would cause the issue that you are seeing. As IPN is only set up on the PayPal account, and if your credit cards are not being processed through PayPal you wont get an IPN. If you can provide one of the transaction id's I can confirm this on my end.
