Here's my big and dirty list of SEO/analytics sites and services. As far as I can tell, none of them can give me a table of most viewed URLs by unit time for some arbitrary domain or subdomain (or the Internet as a whole). How can I get that, or something that approximates it nicely, paid or free?

To answer your question, I don't think that any of the tools you listed (or any I can think of myself) can do what you're asking. The only thing that may be able to would be custom reporting for Google Analytics, or some other metrics tracking SaaS - I know we don't offer it as part of our product. Hope that helps!

I'm a web developer and mobile applications. I have several clients which I manage in a hosting service with whm panel. Now I want to start using Google Cloud. My question is whether it is better to create a project for each client or to create a single project with a lot of space and there to store all the pages and databases. Please help me with this because I do not know what is the best practice
From my experience,
If your customer pays a fixed price for hosting it does not matter.
If you charge "pay as you go" then a separate project is the only way you can know how much exactly to charge.
Like Ken says, it is very difficult to predict your needs with so little information. One point to keep in mind: if you ever plan to turn over ownership of the project to the client, then having a separate project for each client will make life so much easier.

I have developed a website for a firm that deals in pumps, valves and diesel engines. They require that when an interested user searches with some keywords like "Pump Dealers" or "Valve Dealers", their site should appear in the results. Currently I am not aware of how I can go about this, so my question is what should I do in order for better page ranking. I am using meaningful page titles and have enough text in every page.
Any suggestion is welcome.
Firstly Pagerank is irrelevant these days, so don't worry about that.
You should ensure that you use Google's Webmaster Tools to check that Google knows about your site etc. This will tell you what things it is coming up for on Google.
Make sure that the page has the text on it you want to rank for - as you mention, titles, headers etc will help but don't over do it.
The main thing to do is to get links to your site – write interesting blog posts, contact customers etc so they link to you.
It really depends on who your competition is for those terms - if there are already 10 huge companies ranking for those terms then you are stuck.
The other way to do this is to buy Adwords – this will likely cost upwards of $5-10 a day to get any meaningful traffic though.

I've been trying to describe the concept of platforms to some non-developer people on my team. I'm trying to explain how platforms are more than just tools and environments. For example, the Facebook Platform. How to describe the fact that the platform is more than just the website, but includes protocols like XFBML, opengraph, etc.
Facebook Platform is one example, but I would be interested if anyone has an abstracted way to describe what 'platforms' are in the tech world. I've had difficulty explaining this concept before in situations unrelated to flash.
Analogies that aren't tech related would be helpful as well.
I would say something about it being all-inclusive and extending to include all functionality that the entire ecosystem around that particular piece of software needs to thrive.

I use a "restaurant" metaphor, myself: Think of the kitchen, the bar, the dining room as components to the platform. How the decor can change in the dining room without changing the function, but can affect how customers perceive the business. How the recipes instruct the cooks, and the interactions with the wait staff can all affect different aspects of the business much like different pieces of your platform can be modified to affect different aspects of your business. Oh, and don't forget management!

I was wondering how I could set up a computer (windwos xp) or browser to allow access to only 2 or 3 websites? I know where I currently work they have 'email stations' which are computers will access only to the company homepage and email login. Please let me know any ideas you all have.

This is accomplished by using a proxy. There are several free, open source proxies (such as squid and varnish), but it may be easier to look at some of the for-pay solutions for parental controls. I looked at net nanny before for some customers, and they were happy with it.
McAfee has some parental control software built in to its standard PC protection package.
It allows you pretty easy control over home much time can be spent online and what kind of sites can be accessed.
You can download a free trial on the website. Its worth a try.

Not a direct answer to this question but definitely a good starting point to help you get answered:
I had the same questions and initially thought PBWorks since that's who Twitter originally used for their API Wiki and in the past I've used Google Sites (on the Kwwika Wiki) since it's effectively a wiki.
I'm sure that if you want a more automated solution that will allow you to auto create your wiki from a build process then there will be solutions such as Read the Docs.
All this said I think a really good starting point is WikiMatrix and their Wiki Choice Wizard.
