I am trying to upload txt file(4,073 bytes) through iTunes Connect to manage content of one of my apps. It didn't allow me to upload and said file size is more than 4000 Characters. Then, I removed couple of characters from the file manually and uploaded the txt file (4,045 bytes) and it was accepted by iTunes Connect.
Not sure how do I restrict/determine the size of the txt file? Since I have an automated tool which basically generates the file with 4000 bytes/characters limit, which obviously ignored by iTunes connect.
Your best option would be to set the limit to be 4,000 characters and just stick with that.
You never know when Apple will tighten up on the iTunesConnect application description field's (possibly temporary) flexibility.

The maximum size of a file that can be uploaded in an Azure File Share is 4 TiB (Reference).
When you upload a file in a File Share, you have to upload them in chunks and the maximum size of each chunk can be 4MiB. I think this is where you are getting confused.
So, to upload a file larger than 4MB, what you would need to do is create an empty file using ShareFileClient.CreateAsync method and specify the size of the file there.
Once that is done, you would need to read the source file in chunks (max chunk size would be 4MB) and call ShareFileClient.UploadAsync method by passing the stream data read from the source file.
I'm trying to use GUN to create a File sharing platform. I read the tutorial and API but I couldn't find a general way to upload/download a file.
I hear that there is a limitation of 5Mb of localStorage in GUN, if I want to upload a large file, I have to slice it then storage it into GUN. But right now I can't find a way to storage file into GUN.
I read the question from Retric and I know how to store the image into GUN, but can I store the other type of Files such as .zip or .doc File? Is there a general API for file storage?

I've sent 20MB files thru it, tho yeah, I'm sure there is a better way of splitting it up into 2MB chunks - that is currently not automatic, you'd have to code it.
We'll have a feature in the future that will automatically split up video files. Do you want to help with this?
I think on the download side, all you have to do is make sure you have the whole file (stitch it back together if you do write a splitter upper), and add it to some <a href=" target. Actually, I'm not sure exactly how, but I know browsers support download file attributes for a few years now, where you can create a download link even of a in-memory file... but you'll have to search online for how. Then please write a tutorial and share it with the community!!
I would recommend using IPFS for file storage and GUN to store the links to those files. GUN isn't meant for file storage I believe, primarily user/graph data. Thus the 5 MB limitation.
While uploading .pdf files bigger than 1MB in size through assets in Hippo CMS it gives an error "File type not allowed".
I have already checked MySQL configuration and checked /hippo:configuration/hippo:frontend/cms/cms-services/assetValidationService node in hippo console, where default value is 10M.
So the specific question is:
How do you fix the error and are able to upload files bigger than 1MB in Hippo CMS of .pdf type.

Here you can see how to set the file size limit. Note that there is also possibly a wicket setting you have to be aware of. Details in the page.
Though I wouldn't expect it to return file type not allowed if the problems was the size of the file. Perhaps the file is not validating as a pdf?
The problem was actually on the server of nginx. The server was rejecting all files bigger then 1MB and after long check at the logs the setting got changed to appropriate size.
I also gave the vote to Jasper since that can also be solution and it effects the same problem.
I am working on file upload and really wandering how actually chunk file upload works.
While i understand client sends data in small chunks to server instead of complete file at once. But i have few questions on this:-
For browser to divide and send whole file into chunks, Will it read complete file to its memory? If yes, then again there will me chances of memory leak and browser crash for big files(say > 10GB)
How cloud application like google drive droopbox handles such big files upload?
If multiple files are selected to upload and all have size grater than 5-10 GB, Does browser keep all files into memory then send it chunk by chunk?
Not sure if you're still looking for answer, I been in your position recently, and here's what I've come up with, hope it helps: Deal chunk uploaded files in php
During uploading, If you can print out the request from the backend, you shall see three parameters: _chunkNumber, _totalSize and _chunkSize, with these parameters it's easy to decide whether this chunk is the last piece, if it is, assemble all of the pieces as a whole shouldn't be hard.
As for javascript side, ng-file-upload has a setting named "resumeChunkSize" where you can enable chunk mode and setup the chunk size.
I've got VBA code that generates a text file with some pretty basic information included. I then upload that file via FTP.
I got a message from the server admin of the IBM mainframe today that my file was in variable blocking (VB) format and their job process uses a fixed blocking (FB) up to a max size of 256.
How is this done? During the file creation? 3rd party tool?

You can simply convert the VB file into FB in mainframe before running the actual process.VB to FB conversion JCL is a small JCL step to do your conversion
You can use Locsite to set the record format on the host dataset(File).

Sorry all, I have a feeling I didn't explain this correctly, because I do now have an answer which is rather simple. These 2 commands seemed to have setup the environment correctly for the file to be fb and not vb.

If I rightly remember FB is in multiples of the block sizes, that is just how DASD stores the files on disk, it must fit in that multiple block size, which increases speed and throughput on the Mainframe. If the data file is not within the boundary of multiple block sizes (This has nothing to do with the actual size of the data), the DASD system just access files in blocks of 256 bytes...there will be a host of special fields inserted into the data file to describe the blocking and so on...which will get inserted when transferred to the mainframe and that data gets transferred to magnetic tape backups...
There should be a script available on the Mainframe to convert it using JCL (Job Control Language)..ask the Mainframe administrator to do it for you...
By the way it should be noted that the character set you used in your data file, just be aware that the mainframe uses EBCDIC character set...There are plenty of tools out there that can convert from ASCII data to the format to be readable by the mainframe, just something to bear in mind of...If the data gets converted that could impact the file size...Thought it would be worth mentioning and important!
There is a Unix/Linux utility that can convert the data to a fixed block size using the dd utility, although I do not think it would be the right way to do it...
