Determing if a SQL select returns an empty set asynchronously? - sql

Is this possible easily? It seems the handleResult method is only executed if the result isn't the empty set.
A thought I had was to have handleResult and handleCompletion be member functions of an object and have handleResult update a member variable that handleCompletion can check. If the variable is set, not empty, if variable unset, empty and can act accordingly.
seems to be overly complicated and hoping there's a better solution?

to sketch out a solution (the thought i had above) (edit2: per comment I made below)
function sql() {
this.results = false;
var me = this;
this.handleResult = function(aResultSet) {
for (var row = aResultSet.getNextRow(); row; row = aResultSet.getNextRow()) {
me.results = true;
var value = row.getResultByName("name");
}
};
this.handleError = function(aError) {
.... //deal with error
};
this.handleCompletion = function(aReason) {
if (me.results) {
....//results
} else {
....//no results
}
if (aReason != Components.interfaces.mozIStorageStatementCallback.REASON_FINISHED) {
....//handle these
};
};
s = new sql();
statement.executeAsync({
handleResult: s.handleResult,
handleError: s.handleError,
handleCompletion: s.handleCompletion
});
is this considered a good way to solve this problem?
edit1: this doesn't behave in the manner I'd expect (it works, but not 100% sure why). i.e. the this.results variable is undefined (not false), if handleResult never runs. So it appers as if handleResult and handleCompletion are operating on a different set of variables than I'd expect.
any help to understand what I'm doing wrong would be appreciated.

columnSummary is not added

I am trying to add columnSummary to my table using Handsontable. But it seems that the function does not fire. The stretchH value gets set and is set properly. But it does not react to the columnSummary option:
this.$refs.hot.hotInstance.updateSettings({stretchH: 'all',columnSummary: [
{
destinationRow: 0,
destinationColumn: 2,
reversedRowCoords: true,
type: 'custom',
customFunction: function(endpoint) {
console.log("TEST");
}
}]
}, false);
I have also tried with type:'sum' without any luck.
Thanks for all help and guidance!
columnSummary cannot be changed with updateSettings: GH #3597
You can set columnSummary settings at the initialization of Handsontable.
One workaround would be to somehow manage your own column summary, since Handsontable one could give you some headeache. So you may try to add one additional row to put your arithmetic in, but it is messy (it needs fixed rows number and does not work with filtering and sorting operations. Still, it could work well under some circumstances.
In my humble opinion though, a summary column has to be fully functionnal. We then need to set our summary row out of the table data. What comes to mind is to take the above mentioned additional row and take it away from the table data "area" but it would force us to make that out of the table row always looks like it still was in the table.
So I thought that instead of having a new line we could just have to add our column summary within column header:
Here is a working JSFiddle example.
Once the Handsontable table is rendered, we need to iterate through the columns and set our column summary right in the table cell HTML content:
for(var i=0;i<tableConfig.columns.length;i++) {
var columnHeader = document.querySelectorAll('.ht_clone_top th')[i];
if(columnHeader) { // Just to be sure column header exists
var summaryColumnHeader = document.createElement('div');
summaryColumnHeader.className = 'custom-column-summary';
columnHeader.appendChild( summaryColumnHeader );
}
}
Now that our placeholders are set, we have to update them with some arithmetic results:
var printedData = hotInstance.getData();
for(var i=0;i<tableConfig.columns.length;i++) {
var summaryColumnHeader = document.querySelectorAll('.ht_clone_top th')[i].querySelector('.custom-column-summary'); // Get back our column summary for each column
if(summaryColumnHeader) {
var res = 0;
printedData.forEach(function(row) { res += row[i] }); // Count all data that are stored under that column
summaryColumnHeader.innerText = '= '+ res;
}
}
This piece of code function may be called anytime it should be:
var hotInstance = new Handsontable(/* ... */);
setMySummaryHeaderCalc(); // When Handsontable table is printed
Handsontable.hooks.add('afterFilter', function(conditionsStack) { // When Handsontable table is filtered
setMySummaryHeaderCalc();
}, hotInstance);
Feel free to comment, I could improve my answer.

Filter cached sqlJdbs query in Pentaho CE

I use sqlJdbs query as a data provider for my CCC controls. I use geospatial request in my query that's why I cache my results(Cache=True). Otherwise the request made long.
It works fine. However I have to use parameters in my query to filter resulting rows:
SELECT ...
FROM ...
WHERE someField IN (${aoi_param})
Is there some way to cache full set of rows and then apply WHERE to cached results without rebuilding new cache for each set of values in the ${aoi_param}?
What is the best practice?
So, I am not really sure that it is the best practice, but I solved my problem this way:
I included aoi_param to the Listeners and Parameters of my chart control
Then I filtered data set in Post Fetch:
function f(data){
var _aoi_param = this.dashboard.getParameterValue('${p:aoi_param}');
function isInArray(myValue, myArray) {
var arrayLength = myArray.length;
for (var i = 0; i < arrayLength; i++) {
if (myValue == myArray[i]) return true;
}
return false;
}
function getFiltered(cdaData, filterArray) {
var allCdaData = cdaData;
cdaData = {
metadata: allCdaData.metadata,
resultset: allCdaData.resultset.filter(function(row){
// 2nd column is an AOI id in my dataset
return isInArray(row[2], filterArray);
})
};
return cdaData;
}
var dataFiltered = getFiltered(data, _aoi_param);
return dataFiltered;
}
excluded WHERE someField IN (${aoi_param}) from the query of my sql over sqlJdbc component

Sales Order Confirmation Report - SalesConfirmDP

I am modifying the SalesConfirmDP class and trying to add the CustVendExternalItem.ExternalItemTxt field into a new field I have created.
I have tried a couple of things but I do not think my syntax was correct i.e I declare the CustVendExternalItem table in the class declaration. But then when I try to insert CustVendExternalItem.ExternalItemTxt into my new field, it does not populate, I guess there must be a method which I need to include?
If anyone has any suggestion it would be highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
private void setSalesConfirmDetailsTmp(NoYes _confirmTransOrTaxTrans)
{
DocuRefSearch docuRefSearch;
// Body
salesConfirmTmp.JournalRecId = custConfirmJour.RecId;
if(_confirmTransOrTaxTrans == NoYes::Yes)
{
if (printLineHeader)
{
salesConfirmTmp.LineHeader = custConfirmTrans.LineHeader;
}
else
{
salesConfirmTmp.LineHeader = '';
}
salesConfirmTmp.ItemId = this.itemId();
salesConfirmTmp.Name = custConfirmTrans.Name;
salesConfirmTmp.Qty = custConfirmTrans.Qty;
salesConfirmTmp.SalesUnitTxt = custConfirmTrans.salesUnitTxt();
salesConfirmTmp.SalesPrice = custConfirmTrans.SalesPrice;
salesConfirmTmp.DlvDate = custConfirmTrans.DlvDate;
salesConfirmTmp.DiscPercent = custConfirmTrans.DiscPercent;
salesConfirmTmp.DiscAmount = custConfirmTrans.DiscAmount;
salesConfirmTmp.LineAmount = custConfirmTrans.LineAmount;
salesConfirmTmp.CurrencyCode = custConfirmJour.CurrencyCode;
salesConfirmTmp.PrintCode = custConfirmTrans.TaxWriteCode;
if (pdsCWEnabled)
{
salesConfirmTmp.PdsCWUnitId = custConfirmTrans.pdsCWUnitId();
salesConfirmTmp.PdsCWQty = custConfirmTrans.PdsCWQty;
}
**salesConfirmTmp.ExternalItemText = CustVendExternalItem.ExternalItemTxt;**
if ((custFormletterDocument.DocuOnConfirm == DocuOnFormular::Line)
|| (custFormletterDocument.DocuOnConfirm == DocuOnFormular::All))
{
docuRefSearch = DocuRefSearch::newTypeIdAndRestriction(custConfirmTrans,
custFormletterDocument.DocuTypeConfirm,
DocuRestriction::External);
salesConfirmTmp.Notes = Docu::concatDocuRefNotes(docuRefSearch);
}
salesConfirmTmp.InventDimPrint = this.printDimHistory();
Well, AX cannot guess which record you need, there is a helper class CustVendExternalItemDescription to deal with it:
boolean found;
str externalItemId;
...
[found, externalItemId, salesConfirmTmp.ExternalItemText] = CustVendExternalItemDescription::findExternalItemDescription(
ModuleCustVend::Cust,
custConfirmTrans.ItemId,
custConfirmTrans.inventDim(),
custConfirmJour.OrderAccount,
CustTable::find(custConfirmJour.OrderAccount).CustItemGroupId);
The findExternalItemDescription method returns more information than you need here, but you have to define variables to store it anyway.
Well, the steps to solve this problem are fairly easy and i will try to give you a step by step approach how to solve this problem.
1) Are you initialising CustVendExternalItem properly? Make a record of the same and initialise it as Jan has shown above, then debug your code and see if the value is being initialised in your DP class.
2)If your value is being initialised correctly, but it is not showing up in the report design there can be multiple issues such as:
Overlapping of text boxes.
Insufficient space for the given field
Some report parameter/property not being set correctly which causes
your value not to show up on the report.
Check these one by one and you should end up arriving towards a solution

Implement the same function in AS2 for an Array

I have an array, and I would like to make a function onRelease for all of the array positions.
The code would be like:
pick = new Array(2,3,4);
var botoes1:MovieClip = lev.attachMovie("block", "block_"+lev.getNextHighestDepth(), lev.getNextHighestDepth(), {_x:550, _y:1*22});
_root.botoes1.gotoAndStop(pick[1]);
var botoes2:MovieClip = lev.attachMovie("block", "block_"+lev.getNextHighestDepth(), lev.getNextHighestDepth(), {_x:550, _y:2*22});
_root.botoes2.gotoAndStop(pick[2]);
var botoes3:MovieClip = lev.attachMovie("block", "block_"+lev.getNextHighestDepth(), lev.getNextHighestDepth(), {_x:550, _y:3*22});
_root.botoes3.gotoAndStop(pick[3]);
for(i=0;i<3;i++){
_root['botoes'+i].onRelease() = Function () {
}
}
but it doesn't work this way...
and if possible, how can I make the MovieClip declaring for all the buttons in an for loop?
Couple syntax errors there, here's what this line should look like:
_root['botoes' + i].onRelease = function()
{
// Function body.
//
}
Your previous code was trying to assign the result of _root['botoes' + i].onRelease() (which would have been undefined) to the result of Function() (which would have been a Function object).

Using boolean fields with Magento ORM

I am working on a backend edit page for my custom entity. I have almost everything working, including saving a bunch of different text fields. I have a problem, though, when trying to set the value of a boolean field.
I have tried:
$landingPage->setEnabled(1);
$landingPage->setEnabled(TRUE);
$landingPage->setEnabled(0);
$landingPage->setEnabled(FALSE);
None seem to persist a change to my database.
How are you supposed to set a boolean field using magento ORM?
edit
Looking at my database, mysql is storing the field as a tinyint(1), so magento may be seeing this as an int not a bool. Still can't get it to set though.
This topic has bring curiosity to me. Although it has been answered, I'd like to share what I've found though I didn't do intense tracing.
It doesn't matter whether the cache is enabled / disabled, the table schema will be cached.
It will be cached during save process.
Mage_Core_Model_Abstract -> save()
Mage_Core_Model_Resource_Db_Abstract -> save(Mage_Core_Model_Abstract $object)
Mage_Core_Model_Resource_Db_Abstract
public function save(Mage_Core_Model_Abstract $object)
{
...
//any conditional will eventually call for:
$this->_prepareDataForSave($object);
...
}
protected function _prepareDataForSave(Mage_Core_Model_Abstract $object)
{
return $this->_prepareDataForTable($object, $this->getMainTable());
}
Mage_Core_Model_Resource_Abstract
protected function _prepareDataForTable(Varien_Object $object, $table)
{
$data = array();
$fields = $this->_getWriteAdapter()->describeTable($table);
foreach (array_keys($fields) as $field) {
if ($object->hasData($field)) {
$fieldValue = $object->getData($field);
if ($fieldValue instanceof Zend_Db_Expr) {
$data[$field] = $fieldValue;
} else {
if (null !== $fieldValue) {
$fieldValue = $this->_prepareTableValueForSave($fieldValue, $fields[$field]['DATA_TYPE']);
$data[$field] = $this->_getWriteAdapter()->prepareColumnValue($fields[$field], $fieldValue);
} else if (!empty($fields[$field]['NULLABLE'])) {
$data[$field] = null;
}
}
}
}
return $data;
}
See the line: $fields = $this->_getWriteAdapter()->describeTable($table);
Varien_Db_Adapter_Pdo_Mysql
public function describeTable($tableName, $schemaName = null)
{
$cacheKey = $this->_getTableName($tableName, $schemaName);
$ddl = $this->loadDdlCache($cacheKey, self::DDL_DESCRIBE);
if ($ddl === false) {
$ddl = parent::describeTable($tableName, $schemaName);
/**
* Remove bug in some MySQL versions, when int-column without default value is described as:
* having default empty string value
*/
$affected = array('tinyint', 'smallint', 'mediumint', 'int', 'bigint');
foreach ($ddl as $key => $columnData) {
if (($columnData['DEFAULT'] === '') && (array_search($columnData['DATA_TYPE'], $affected) !== FALSE)) {
$ddl[$key]['DEFAULT'] = null;
}
}
$this->saveDdlCache($cacheKey, self::DDL_DESCRIBE, $ddl);
}
return $ddl;
}
As we can see:
$ddl = $this->loadDdlCache($cacheKey, self::DDL_DESCRIBE);
will try to load the schema from cache.
If the value is not exists: if ($ddl === false)
it will create one: $this->saveDdlCache($cacheKey, self::DDL_DESCRIBE, $ddl);
So the problem that occurred in this question will be happened if we ever save the model that is going to be altered (add column, etc).
Because it has ever been $model->save(), the schema will be cached.
Later after he add new column and "do saving", it will load the schema from cache (which is not containing the new column) and resulting as: the data for new column is failed to be saved in database
Delete var/cache/* - your DB schema is cached by Magento even though the new column is already added to the MySQL table.
