The inputAccessoryView is shown successfully, but it is totally black.
_textField = [[UITextField alloc] initWithFrame: CGRectZero]; // update frame later
_textField.contentVerticalAlignment = UIControlContentVerticalAlignmentCenter;
UIView *inputAccessoryView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 180)];
inputAccessoryView.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor];
inputAccessoryView.alpha = 0.2;
_textField.inputAccessoryView = inputAccessoryView;
I am completely confused over this... can anyone explain why it happens?
Use This method of UIColor on previous line instead of setting alpha:-
[UIColor colorWithHue:saturation:brightness:alpha:];

How to make UITextField on background of UITableView?
I want to set textField in the top and when i scroll tableView my textField don't move.
Something like this
- (void)viewDidLoad {
[super viewDidLoad];
self.textField = [[UITextField alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(20, 30, 100, 30)];
self.textField.backgroundColor = [UIColor redColor];
self.tableView = [[UITableView alloc] initWithFrame:self.tableView.frame style:UITableViewStyleGrouped];
self.tableView.contentInset = UIEdgeInsetsMake(50, 0, 0, 0);
[self.tableView registerClass:[TableViewCell class] forCellReuseIdentifier:NSStringFromClass([TableViewCell class])];
[self.view addSubview:self.textField];
}
You have another solution - besides one suggested in comments:
You can create UIViewController with tableView and text field. Assign delegate and dataSource to the view controller. Pin text field to the top and you have your desired behaviour. You will have to connect tableView with IBOutlets.
If you want to set textField in the top change textField frame
From
self.textField = [[UITextField alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(20, 300, 100, 30)];
To
self.textField = [[UITextField alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 30, 100, 30)];
self.textField.backgroundColor = [UIColor redColor];
[self.view addSubview:self.textField];
Also another solution is add textField to navigation item title.I tried this and it works fine.
textField = [[UITextField alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 30, 100, 30)];
textField.backgroundColor = [UIColor redColor];
[self.view addSubview:textField];
self.navigationItem.titleView = self.textField;
I use a self.navigationItem.titleView and I set two UIButtons as the self.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItems in the UINavigationBar. I have achieved this in my navigationBar like so
Whenever I rotate the view controller landscape and then back, the uibarbutton item gets cut off like so
The code I use to set the titleView is this:
UILabel *titleLabel = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 0, 44)];
titleLabel.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
titleLabel.numberOfLines = 2;
titleLabel.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:13.0f];
titleLabel.shadowColor = [UIColor colorWithWhite:0.0 alpha:0.5];
titleLabel.textAlignment = UITextAlignmentCenter;
titleLabel.textColor = [UIColor whiteColor];
titleLabel.text = self.tabTitle;
self.navigationItem.titleView = titleLabel;
I have no idea why this is happening and I wonder if if any of you know how to fix this.
I have two views in my program. One is statusView, it's alpha is set to 0.8f. And below it is tableView. How do I disable statusView such way, that clicking on it would not click tableView. Settings userInteractionEnabled = false; didn't help.
Here is how i add views.
[self.view addSubview:_builded.view]; // obj with my tableView
info = [[Info alloc] init];
[self.view addSubview:info.view]; // statusView
If you add a subview like the following, the tableView underneath would not catch the user interaction.
UITableView *testTableView = [[UITableView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 460)];
testTableView.delegate = self;
testTableView.dataSource = self;
[self.view addSubview:testTableView];
UIView *statusView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(20, 20, 200, 200)];
statusView.backgroundColor = [UIColor redColor];
statusView.alpha = 0.8;
[self.view addSubview:statusView];
I am trying to add uipickerview in uiscrollview, but it is not being shown properly, just a black square.
Further, I have to add 1 more uipickerview, some labels and some buttons.
The code I am using is as under:
-(void)loadView {
[super loadView];
UIPickerView *pView = [[UIPickerView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(20, 20, 280, 165)];
self.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithPatternImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"Background.png"]];
scroller = [[UIScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, self.view.frame.size.width, self.view.frame.size.height)];
scroller.pagingEnabled = YES;
NSInteger numberOfViews = 2;
for (int i = 0; i < numberOfViews; i++) {
CGFloat yOrigin = i * self.view.frame.size.height;
UIView *awesomeView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(yOrigin, 0, self.view.frame.size.width, self.view.frame.size.height)];
// awesomeView.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithRed:0.5/i green:0.5 blue:0.5 alpha:1];
[scroller addSubview:awesomeView];
[scroller addSubview:pView];
}
scroller.contentSize = CGSizeMake(self.view.frame.size.width , self.view.frame.size.height * numberOfViews);
[self.view addSubview:scroller];
}
what can be the issue?
Are you putting data in the picker view? I mean, if you just put the picker view without data on it you are not going to see anything on it.
You need to add the delegate and the datasource and put some data in your picker!
pView.delegate = self;
pView.datasource = self;
and then you have to implemente at least:
numberOfComponentsInPickerView:
numberOfRowsInComponent:
titleForRow:
make sure you are implementing uipickerviewdelegate methods. its normal that it will show just the black square because your pickerview cant find the data and thus does not display anything.
UIPickerView *pView = [[UIPickerView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(20, 20, 280, 165)];
Change height to 216 .. UIPickerView has fixed height of 216 ..only.. you can't change it..
I am trying to create a view in iOS to let the user know their data is loading... it should have about a 200x200 Rounded-corner box in the middle with a spinner and the words "Data Loading..." and a transparent background.
This all is working except my 200x200 rounded-corner box is also transparent.
Here is the code I am using:
UIView *loadingDataView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 44, 320, 367)];
loadingDataView.alpha = 0.4;
loadingDataView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
UIView *viewWithSpinner = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(110, 106, 100, 100)];
[viewWithSpinner.layer setCornerRadius:15.0f];
viewWithSpinner.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor];
UILabel *msg = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(5, 75, 90, 20)];
UIActivityIndicatorView *spinner = [[UIActivityIndicatorView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(5, 5, 90, 70)];
spinner.activityIndicatorViewStyle = UIActivityIndicatorViewStyleWhite;
[spinner startAnimating];
msg.text = #"Data Loading";
msg.font = [UIFont systemFontOfSize:14];
msg.textAlignment = UITextAlignmentCenter;
msg.textColor = [UIColor whiteColor];
msg.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
viewWithSpinner.opaque = NO;
viewWithSpinner.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor];
[viewWithSpinner addSubview:spinner];
[viewWithSpinner addSubview:msg];
[loadingDataView addSubview:viewWithSpinner];
[self.view addSubview:loadingDataView];
Thanks.
No exactly an answer to your question, but check out the open source MBProgressHUD. It aims to be an open source replacement for the private UIProgressHUD class, and is exactly what you're trying to do.
The solution for your problem is that you should remove the alpha attribute of 0.4, that's what's turning your round view transparent, if your view is set to clearColor (this is not really a color, it just makes the view transparent) it makes no sense to add an alpha of 0.4. If what you want is a semi-transparent view surrounding your black rounded view, you should do the following:
[loadingDataView setBackgroundColor:[UIColor colorWithRed:1 green:1 blue:1 andAlpha:0.4]];
That will give you something whiteish kinda grayish, that should work.
However, I would recommend you to use the GIDAAlertView Class I developed, you can get the source and an example app on my GitHub:
It takes about 3 lines to get it working:
GIDAAlertView *spinnerAlert=[[GIDAAlertView alloc] initAlertWithSpinnerAndMessage:#"GIDAAlertView Spinner"];
//Show it ...
[spinnerAlert presentAlertWithSpinner];
//Later in your code, hide it
[spinnerAlert hideAlertWithSpinner];
This is how it looks like.
you are telling it to be clear...
loadingDataView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor];
What do you want it to be black?
