I have the following in my feature.template.xml
...
<VersionRange BeginVersion="1.0.0.1" EndVersion="1.0.0.2">
<CustomUpgradeAction Name="1.0.0.1_TO_1.0.0.2"></CustomUpgradeAction>
</VersionRange>
<VersionRange BeginVersion="1.0.0.2" EndVersion="1.0.0.3">
<CustomUpgradeAction Name="1.0.0.2_TO_1.0.0.3"></CustomUpgradeAction>
</VersionRange>
...
My feature upgrade event is as follows:
public override void FeatureUpgrading(SPFeatureReceiverProperties properties, string upgradeActionName, System.Collections.Generic.IDictionary<string, string> parameters)
{
using (SPSite site = (SPSite)properties.Feature.Parent)
using (SPWeb mySite = site.RootWeb)
{
switch (upgradeActionName)
{
case "1.0.0.1_TO_1.0.0.2":
//execute logicA
break;
case "1.0.0.2_TO_1.0.0.3":
//execute logicB
break;
default:
break;
}
}
Am I correct in saying that if the site is currently version 1.0.0.0, it will be upgraded to v 1.0.03, executing both logicA and logicB above. This means that sharepoint would call featureupgrading event for each version upgrade.Is this correct? Or do I need to do something different to achieve this?
I also have the following concerns:
What exactly do the the BeginVersion and EndVersion mean.
I especially do not understand the BeginVersion. What happens if instead of 1.0.0.2 I set it to 1.0.0.1 as well?
Any assistance would be greately appreciated, as I did not find any good relevant details online or on books.
When you add a new Feature to your VS SharePoint project, Visual studio initializes your Feature with version 0.0.0.0.
In the properties window you can set a version number for your feature.
When you want to upgrade an existing feature you'll have to define the range of versions for which you want your upgrade actions (code, new manifest, ...) to happen.
E.g.: You deployed your feature without changing the version number. Your current deployed feature has version number 0.0.0.0.
You want to upgrade your feature and set the version number to 2.0.0.0.
If you define a versionrange as follows:
<VersionRange BeginVersion="1.0.0.0" EndVersion="2.0.0.0">
You'll notice nothing will happen when you call SPFeature.Upgrade() since 0.0.0.0 is not in the defined versionrange.
If you use this versionrange
<VersionRange EndVersion="2.0.0.0">
or
<VersionRange BeginVersion="0.0.0.0" EndVersion="2.0.0.0">
You'll notice your FeatureUpgrading eventreceiver or other upgrade actions will be triggered.
Your upgraded feature will now have version number 2.0.0.0.
If you call SPFeature.Upgrade again nothing will happen again, because 2.0.0.0 exceeds the defined versionrange. So BeginVersion is included, EndVersion not.
Every feature with a version number between [0.0.0.0 - 1.x.x.x] will be upgraded if you use the latter versionranges.
I think you can also leave the BeginVersion and EndVersion attributes entirely out. Then you're upgradeactions will be triggered at every SPFeature.Upgrade() call. (To be verified)

I am currently working on upgrading an existing Typo3 8.7 instance to Typo3 9.5, following along with the instructions in the official docs.
I have a problem though with a custom extension (written by not-me) that uses TYPO3\CMS\Extensionmanager\Utility\ConfigurationUtility to obtain various configuration values used in the extension.
Usage of the class is as follows:
public function getConfiguration(): array
{
$configuration = $this->baseConfigurationUtility->getCurrentConfiguration('sbb_oauth');
return array_column($configuration, 'value', 'name');
}
which is in turn used by this method:
public function getConfigurationOption(string $name)
{
$configuration = $this->getConfiguration();
return (isset($configuration[$name]) ? $configuration[$name] : null);
}
The other methods in the class all call getConfigurationOption(string $name) in order to get some specific value from the configuration fetched by ConfigurationUtility.
The problem now is that TYPO3\CMS\Extensionmanager\Utility\ConfigurationUtility is no longer present in Typo3 9.5, and I haven't been able to find any official instructions as to how to properly migrate code that uses it, neither by online search nor by looking through the API.
Since I am not a PHP programmer, and I don't have any experience with Typo3 and its extension system (I just inherited the system and am trying to upgrade it as cleanly as I can), I would appreciate any tips/hints, including "please look [link goes here]", in case I've managed to miss something utterly obvious - thanks in advance!
I've been trying to create a new repository on a remote GraphDB server using RDF4J, but I'm having problems.
This runs, but is seemingly not correct
HTTPRepositoryConfig implConfig = new HTTPRepositoryConfig(address);
RepositoryConfig repoConfig = new RepositoryConfig("test", "test", implConfig);
Model m = new
However, based on the info I get from "edit repository" in the workbench, the result doesn't look right. All the values are empty, except for id and title.
This fails
I tried to copy the settings from an existing repository that I created on the workbench, but that failed with:
org.eclipse.rdf4j.repository.config.RepositoryConfigException:
Unsupported repository type: owlim:MonitorRepository
The code for that attempt is inspired by the one found here . Except that the config file is based on an existing repo, as explained above. I also tried to config file provided in the example, but that failed aswell:
org.eclipse.rdf4j.repository.config.RepositoryConfigException:
Unsupported Sail type: graphdb:FreeSail
Anyone got any tips?
UPDATE
As Henriette Harmse correctly pointed out, I should have provided my code, not simply linked to it. That way I might have discovered that I hadn't done a complete copy after all, but changed the important first bits that she points out in her answer. Full code below:
String address = "serveradr";
RemoteRepositoryManager repositoryManager = new RemoteRepositoryManager( address);
repositoryManager.initialize();
// Instantiate a repository graph model
TreeModel graph = new TreeModel();
InputStream config = Rdf4jHelper.class.getResourceAsStream("/repoconf2.ttl");
RDFParser rdfParser = Rio.createParser(RDFFormat.TURTLE);
rdfParser.setRDFHandler(new StatementCollector(graph));
rdfParser.parse(config, RepositoryConfigSchema.NAMESPACE);
config.close();
// Retrieve the repository node as a resource
Resource repositoryNode = graph.filter(null, RDF.TYPE, RepositoryConfigSchema.REPOSITORY).subjects().iterator().next();
// Create a repository configuration object and add it to the repositoryManager
RepositoryConfig repositoryConfig = RepositoryConfig.create(graph, repositoryNode);
It fails on the last line.
ANSWERED #HenrietteHarmse gives the correct method in her answer below. The error is caused by missing dependencies. Instead of using RDF4J directly, I should have used the graphdb-free-runtime.
There are a number of issues here:
(1) RepositoryManager repositoryManager = new LocalRepositoryManager(new File(".")); will create a repository where ever your Java application is running from.
(2) Changing to new LocalRepositoryManager(new File("$GraphDBInstall/data/repositories")) will cause the repository to be created under the control of GraphDB (assuming you have a local GraphDB instance) only if GraphDB is not running. If you start GraphDB after running your program, you will be able to see the repository in GraphDB workbench.
(3) What you need to do is get the repository manager of the remote GraphDB, which can be done with RepositoryManager repositoryManager = RepositoryProvider.getRepositoryManager("http://IPAddressOfGraphDB:7200");.
(4) In the way you have specified the config, you cause the RDF graph config to be lost. The correct way to specify it is:
RepositoryConfig repositoryConfig = RepositoryConfig.create(graph, repositoryNode);
repositoryManager.addRepositoryConfig(repositoryConfig);
(5) A minor issue is that GraphUtil.getUniqueSubject(...) has been deprecated, for which you can use something like the following:
Model model = graph.filter(null, RDF.TYPE, RepositoryConfigSchema.REPOSITORY);
Iterator<Statement> iterator = model.iterator();
if (!iterator.hasNext())
throw new RuntimeException("Oops, no <http://www.openrdf.org/config/repository#> subject found!");
Statement statement = iterator.next();
Resource repositoryNode = statement.getSubject();
EDIT on 20180408:
(5) Or you can use the compact option as #JeenBroekstra suggested in the comments:
Models.subject(
graph.filter(null, RDF.TYPE, RepositoryConfigSchema.REPOSITORY))
.orElseThrow(() -> new RuntimeException("Oops, no <http://www.openrdf.org/config/repository#> subject found!"));
EDIT on 20180409:
For convenience I have added the complete code example here.
EDIT on 20180410:
So the actual culprit turned out to be an incorrect pom.xml. The correct version is as below:
<dependency>
<groupId>com.ontotext.graphdb</groupId>
<artifactId>graphdb-free-runtime</artifactId>
<version>8.4.1</version>
</dependency>
I believe I just had the same issue. I used the example code from GraphDB Free for running with RDF4J as a remote service and ran into the same exception as you (Unsupported Sail type: graphdb:FreeSail). Henriette Harmse's answer does not directly address this issue but one should follow the suggestions given there to avoid running into issues later. In addition, based on a look into the RDF4J code you need the following dependency in your pom.xml file (assuming GraphDB 8.5):
<dependency>
<groupId>com.ontotext.graphdb</groupId>
<artifactId>graphdb-free-runtime</artifactId>
<version>8.5.0</version>
</dependency>
This seems to be because there is some kind of service loading going on with META-INF, which I frankly am not familiar with. Maybe someone can provide more details in the comments. The requirement for adding this dependency in also seems to be absent from the instructions, so if this works for you, please let me know. Others who followed the same steps we did should be able to resolve this issue as well then.
I am trying my hand at writing my first Custom Action for an installer (built with Advanced Installer) using the VB Custom Action Project template supplied with the WiX Toolset. Essentially I just want to test the amount of Ram on a machine to determine which version of a prerequisite ought to be installed if not already present.
What I have so far (in semi pseudo code) is the following;
Public Class CustomActions
<CustomAction()> _
Public Shared Function CustomAction1(ByVal session As Session) As ActionResult
session.Log("Begin CustomAction1")
If New Microsoft.VisualBasic.Devices.ComputerInfo().TotalPhysicalMemory > [ram size here] Then
Return ActionResult.Success
Else
Return ActionResult.SkipRemainingActions
End If
End Function
End Class
What I would like to know is if returning ActionResult.SkipRemainingActions is the correct choice to use if the ram on the machine being tested is less than the result that prompts success.
Here's my 2 cents on this... If the condition isn't met, I would terminate the install. If you use what you have then the install will still continue/skip per say and it actually would skip all other conditions. When you use "ActionResult.Failure" this will roll back the installation.
I would use. . .
Return ActionResult.Failure
On a side note, I would wrap this up in a Try/Catch and throw a message . . .
This is the wrong question to answer (though I agree with the answer of ActionResult.Failure for it).
The right question is what is the best way to check for total available memory in Windows Installer. Per the Windows Installer Property Reference, the answer is to compare against PhysicalMemory, and the right place to do this is in a Condition element, not in a custom action.
I'm completely new to ADO.NET/WCF Data Services. On my first time setting up and testing an ADO.NET data service, I ran into this puzzling error:
The response requires that version 2 of the protocol be used, but the
MaxProtocolVersion of the data service is set to
DataServiceProtocolVersion.V1.
References online indicate that I need to set:
config.DataServiceBehavior.MaxProtocolVersion = Common.DataServiceProtocolVersion.V2
However this property is not available in IntelliSense and produces a build error when I code it manually.
I'm using Visual Studio 2008 SP1, .NET 3.5 SP1, and VB.NET. How do I enable version 2 of the protocol?
After about a day and a half of searching (and reapplying VS2008 SP1), this blog article finally cleared things up:
Astoria V.Next Ships for .NET 3.5 SP1 -> Versioning Issue
Turns out everything was fine with my installation, but I had skipped over the fact that the signature of the InitilizeService() method had changed ever so subtly. As Stephen Forte indicates in his blog:
1: //change the IDataServiceConfiguration to DataServiceConfiguration
2: public static void InitializeService(DataServiceConfiguration config)
3: {
4: config.SetEntitySetAccessRule("*", EntitySetRights.All);
5: //take advantage of the "2.0" features
6: config.DataServiceBehavior.MaxProtocolVersion =
7: System.Data.Services.Common.DataServiceProtocolVersion.V2;
8: }
The first thing that you need to change is on line 2, change the interface IDataServiceConfiguration to be just DataServiceConfiguration (I am sure that there is a better way to do this, I have not figured it out yet.). Next, set the MaxProtocolVersion property of DataServiceBehavior to V2. After that you can take advantage of all the new features!
Emphasis mine. It's amazing the difference a simple "I" makes. To answer Stephen's concern, this is also backed up by MSDN, but they currently don't point out the difference in referencing the interface vs the implementation object:
Configuring the Data Service (ADO.NET Data Services)
Here's the code in VB:
'change the IDataServiceConfiguration to DataServiceConfiguration
Public Shared Sub InitializeService(ByVal config As DataServiceConfiguration)
config.SetEntitySetAccessRule("*", EntitySetRights.All)
'take advantage of the "2.0" features
config.DataServiceBehavior.MaxProtocolVersion = System.Data.Services.Common.DataServiceProtocolVersion.V2
End Sub
Compiled, tested, and passed. I have just taken my first step into a larger world...
So I have a little trouble on the opening of a JFrame. I searched extensively on the net, but I really can not find a solution ...
I explained the situation:
I need to develop an application that needs to retrieve information tracking application while meeting new safety standards. For that I use JMX that allows monitoring and VisualVM to see these information.
I therefore I connect without problems (recently ^ ^) to JMX since VisualVM.
There is thus in a VisualVM plugin for recovering information on MBean, including those on Methods (Operations tab in the plugin).
This allows among others to stop a service or create an event.
My problem then comes when I try to display a result of statistics.
In fact, I must show, at the click of a button from the list of methods in the "Operations", a window with a table in HTML (titles, colors and everything else).
For that I use a JFrame:
public JFrame displayHTMLJFrame(String HTML, String title){
JFrame fen = new JFrame();
fen.setSize(1000, 800);
fen.setTitle(title);
JEditorPane pan = new JEditorPane();
pan.setEditorKit(new HTMLEditorKit());
pan.setEditable(false);
pan.setText(HTML);
fen.add(pan);
return fen;
}
I call it in my method:
public JFrame displayHtmlSqlStatOK_VM(){
return displayHTMLJFrame(displaySQLStat(sqlStatOK, firstMessageDate), "SqlStatOK");
}
The method must therefore giving me back my JFrame, but she generates an error:
Problem invoking displayHtmlSqlStatOK_VM : java.rmi.UnmarshalException: error unmarshalling return; nested
exception is:
java.io.InvalidClassException: javax.swing.JFrame; local class incompatible: stream classdesc serialVersionUID =
-5208364155946320552, local class serialVersionUID = -2386951414768123374
I saw on the internet that this was a version problem (Serialization), and I believe strongly that it comes from the fact that I have this:
Server - JDK5 <----> Client (VisualVM) - JDK6
Knowing that I can not to change the server version (costs too important ...) as advocated by some sites and forums.
My question is as follows:
Can I display this damn window keeping my current architecture (JDK5 server side and client side JDK6)?
I could maybe force the issue? Tell him that there's nothing bad that can run my code? Finally I'm asking him but he does not answer me maybe to you he will tell you ... (Yes I crack ^^).
Thank you very much to those who read me and help me!
If you need more info do not hesitate.
EDIT
The solution to my problem might be elsewhere, because in fact I just want a table with minimal formatting (this is just for viewing application for an for an officer to have his little table him possibly putting critical data in red...).
But I have nowhere found a list of types that I can return with VisualVM ... This does not however seem to me too much to ask.
After I had thought of a backup solution, which would be to create a temporary HTML file and open it automatically in the browser, but right after that is perhaps not very clean ... But if it can work ^^
I am open to any area of research!
It looks like you are sending instance javax.swing.JFrame over the JMX connection - this is a bad idea.
Well good I found myself, as a great :)
Thank you bye!
..........
Just kidding of course I will give the solution that I found ^ ^
So here's what I did:
My display to be done on the client (normal...) my code to display a JFrame that I had set up on the server was displayed obviously ... On the server xD
I didn't want to change the customer (VisualVM) to allow users maximum flexibility. However I realized that to display my HTML table to be rendered usable (with colors and everything) I had to change the client (as JMX does not support the type JFrame as type back an operation).
My operation running from the MBeans plugin for VisualVM, it was necessary that I find the source code for it to say "Be careful if you see that I give you the HTML you display it in a JFrame".
Here is my approach:
- Get the sources
The link SVN to get sources VisualVM is as follows:
https: //svn.java.net/svn/visualvm~svn/branches/release134
If like me you have trouble with the SVN client includes in NetBeans because you are behind a proxy, you can do it by command line:
svn --config-option servers:global:http-proxy-host=MY_PROXY_HOST --config-option servers:global:http-proxy-port=MY_PROXY_PORT checkout https: //svn.java.net/svn/visualvm~svn/branches/release134 sources-visualvm
Putting you on your destination folder of course (cd C:\Users\me\Documents\SourcesVisualVM example).
- Adding the platform VisualVM
NetBeans needs the platform VisualVM to create modules (plugins) for it. For this, go to "Tools" -> "NetBeans Platforms".
Then click "Add Platform ..." at the bottom left of the window and select the folder to the bin downloaded at this address: http:// visualvm.java.net/download.html
You should have this:
http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/543268screen1.png
- Adding sources in the workspace (NetBeansProjects)
Copy/paste downloaded sources (SVN from the link above) to your NetBeans workspace (by default in C:\Users\XXX\Documents\NetBeansProjects).
- Ouverture du projet du plugin MBeans
In NetBeans, right click in the Project Explorer (or go to the menu "Files") and click "Open Project ...".
You will then have a list of projects in your workspace.
Open the project "mbeans" found in "release134" -> "Plugins", as below:
http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/310487screen2.png
- Changing the file "platform.properties"
To build plugin you must define some variables for your platform.
To do this, open the file platform.properties in the directory release134\plugins\nbproject of your workspace.
Replace the content (by changing the paths compared to yours):
cluster.path=\
C:\\Program Files\\java6\\visualvm_134\\platform:\
C:\\Program Files\\java6\\visualvm_134\\profiler
# Deprecated since 5.0u1; for compatibility with 5.0:
disabled.clusters=
nbjdk.active=default
nbplatform.active=VisualVM_1.3.4
suite.dir=${basedir}
harness.dir= C:\\Program Files\\NetBeans 7.1.2\\harness
- Changing the class XMBeanOperations
To add our feature (displaying an HTML table), you must change the class that processes operations, namely the class XMBeanOperations in package com.sun.tools.visualvm . modules.mbeans.
At line 173, replace:
if (entryIf.getReturnType() != null &&
!entryIf.getReturnType().equals(Void.TYPE.getName()) &&
!entryIf.getReturnType().equals(Void.class.getName()))
fireChangedNotification(OPERATION_INVOCATION_EVENT, button, result);
By :
if (entryIf.getReturnType() != null &&
!entryIf.getReturnType().equals(Void.TYPE.getName()) &&
!entryIf.getReturnType().equals(Void.class.getName())) {
if (entryIf.getReturnType() instanceof String) {
String res = result + "";
if (res.indexOf("<html>") != -1) {
JFrame frame = displayHTMLJFrame(res, button.getText());
frame.setVisible(true);
}
else
fireChangedNotification(OPERATION_INVOCATION_EVENT, button, result);
} else
fireChangedNotification(OPERATION_INVOCATION_EVENT, button, result);
}
With the method of creating the JFrame that you place above "void performInvokeRequest (final JButton button)" for example:
// Display a frame with HTML code
public JFrame displayHTMLJFrame(String HTML, String title){
JFrame fen = new JFrame();
fen.setSize(1000, 800);
fen.setTitle(title);
JEditorPane pan = new JEditorPane();
pan.setEditorKit(new HTMLEditorKit());
pan.setEditable(false);
pan.setText(HTML);
fen.add(pan);
return fen;
}
We can see that we already did a test on the return type, if it is a String which is returned, if the case, if we see in this string the balise , then we replace the result of the click by opening a JFrame with the string you put in, what makes us display our HTML code!
- Creating a .nbm
The file .nbm is the deployment file of your plugin. Simply right-click your project (in the Project Explorer) and click on "Create NBM".
Your file .nbm will be created in the folder "build" the root of your project.
- Installing the plugin in VisualVM
To install your plugin, you must just go in VisualVM, go into "Tools" -> "Plugins" tab and then "Downloaded", click "Add Plugins ...". Select your plugin .nbm then click "Install". Then follow the instructions.
