Hi all I just wanted to know if anyone could point me to a link or show me how to implement a search & replace like in TextEdit 1.7 on Lion, or in Xcode 3.2 (when you click on CMD + F). There is a little pop down that appears and I would very much like to implement a similar search field.

I'm working on a xamarin forms app, using the searchbar tag to create a searchbar. For some reason, once I hit search and there is text in the searchbar, the whole screen gets a grayish tint... i have no clue why this is happening and did not find anything on the internet...

if you are using an external keyboard or a mirroring software (Vysor) the grayish ton appears after hiting enter.
The same behvior can happen with an Entry. Try using mouse to confirm search.

the last few days thinking about a way to make μυ work easier.
What I want is to write by hand and convert into text on the computer.
namely when I am on a page with multiple text forms like this im writing now,
when i choose a text form with a pen (like wacom graphic tablet) write on a surface and the automaticaly when i stop or pressing a button the text turn into text in the form.
my title say about wacom because i found bamboo scribe.. if someone uses this please explain me whats can do and if can work for me.
i test myscript. with fullscreen tool wich you can write everywhere on the screen is easiest but when you finish you have to press a button on the program to insert the text in the selected area.
so my question is there any way to press that button with the button placed on stylus pen?
i saw that you can set functions when a button clicked on the wacom tablet or on pen.
i have not bought yet anything because im searching if is out there anything could do what i want better. something made for that particular job

Does anyone know how Apple creates their rollover menus in the Contacts "business card" view*? I am trying to replicate that interface in an App I'm writing, but I'm not sure how to get there via XCode. I'm currently running Mavericks...

I wasn't able to replicate the Contacts interface exactly (I suspect they are doing some custom drawing routines), but I came up with something that was good enough for me. I created pulldown buttons with the "gradient" style, and visual set to "bordered".
Here is the key: during startup, I call the following:
[myButton setShowsBorderOnlyWhileMouseInside:true];
When you hover over the button, it highlights. Click, and the menu drops down. Perfect!
I'm trying to implement a NSView which will host a 'choose file' attachment button. If the user chooses to add a file, the user will be given an option to add another one (and from the 'new set of dropdowns' the user will essentially be able to pick the kind of file they're attaching').
The closest match to this functionality is iCal's New Task editor where you select an alarm and then it gives you an option to add another alarm right underneath.
What is the right way of doing this (I'm new to Mac OS X development)? I originally thought I'd create a custom NSView with all the 'file options' and then if the user was to attach a file I'd dynamically add another NSView right below it (in a NSScrollView). However so many apps do something similar that I almost feel as if there's something else out there in the set of controls that I should be using.
Please can someone guide me to the right direction? Is 'NSForm' or NSPredicateEditor used for this sort of stuff? This is what I mean:
Neither NSForm nor NSPredicateEditor would be useful for what you want to do. I think your thoughts about how to do this by adding a custom view below the original view, is the right way to go. You don't necessarily have to do it in a scroll view, you could expand the size of the window like iCal does.
While creating test in vb.net i found it pretty annoying when you start typing and autocompleet changes a class to something similar looking even it is a class you don't want.

How do you disable this sort of auto-correction?
I can't see your image, but I think this gives you some keyboard shortcuts for dealing with your issue, and this shows you how to modify the settings.
Did you tried to selecting Common tab instead of All tab in the intellisense window?
