I have pdf with fillable fields. How can I guys convert it automatically to FRX file? If it's not able to fully convert it to FRX natively, I can arrange all fillable areas in FRX manually. I just need PDF layout in this case. Thanks in advance, guys!
Fast Report does not import PDF. You'll have to do manually in the report designer.

I would like to export a PowerBI dashboard to PDF but the PDF should have a fillable form field to enter comments for the PDF recipient.
Is that possible at all? So far, I've only found tips on importing data from fillable PDFs into PowerBI.
Thanks,
Fabian
Unfortunately, this is not possible.
Can I create simple pdf file in x++? In this pdf I would like to have for example select from one table or simple static text.
MorphX reports can be saved to PDF by using the proper print settings beforehand.
SSRS reports can do this also using similar tricks.
Another way is to generate RTF, then let Word do the PDF creation. Silly, but maybe the PDF is smaller or better looking.
It is possible, but not simple, to generate PDF directly by using third party .Net components.
Some weeks ago, I used the Evo HTML to PDF library http://www.evopdf.com/ to convert simple HTML templates to PDF and it worked great. It can convert plain text as well, so maybe it could be useful for you.
Natively, AX hasn't anything to create PDF files.
I have a very specific question and I would be extremely happy if anybody has any guess on how to solve it. I have: 1.- a PDF form which I have not created myself. 2.- a GoogleSpreadsheet created by myself.
Now the question is: is there any way I can fill in the PDF form using the information in the GoogleSpreadsheet, taking into account that this process should be activated from the GoogleSpreadsheet (since the PDF form is not mine)?
Best regards and thanks so much for everyone's input!
It depends.
You would need edit access to the PDF form, in order to get the field names. With that information, you could create a FDF (Forms Data Format, a PDF-related file format for data, using PDF syntax) file from the Google spreadsheet, which does refer to the PDF form as a base PDF. You then could open that FDF from the spreadsheet, and it should, if your webbrowser supports the Acrobat browser plug-in, grab the base PDF and populate it.
If you can not get the opening from the spreadsheet to work, download the FDF file and open it in Acrobat/Reader, or open the base form in Acrobat/Reader and import the data from the FDF file.
I have a lengthy PDF time tracking document that was printed out and used in a paper process to schedule appointments. Now this paper process is being converted to an online application and this application needs to generate reports in the same format as the PDF document (this time programatically inserting values into rows instead of having someone write them on the piece of paper).
My question is this, is possible to somehow import the layout of that PDF document into Telerik reporter's designer? Otherwise, is there some sort of an intermediary tool that I can use to make the layout more exportable?
Just to clarify, I am not trying to save my reports as PDF but trying to use a given PDF's layout to create a similar looking report in Telerik.
Any tips would be very welcome.
Thank you very much!
There are numerous tools for extracting text or images from pdf files, but I am pretty sure nothing exists to extract the layout of a pdf. The pdf format is just text and symbols with coordinates. There is no layout to extract.
right now i am working on one ipad application where i am giving facility of opening the pdf file and also to customize it,now i want to add one functionality like i want to convert that pdf file in .doc format.
I researched but did not get any way around. Can anybody help me out?
Thanking you in advance.
I wrote an article on PDF to text conversion issues. If you look at some of the existing PDF to Word conversion tools (ie BCL) you will see what is realistically possible with a lot of work.
It’s not possible to convert a generic PDF back into a text format. I guess you could render the PDF into images and create a DOC from those, but that doesn’t sound very useful.
