It had many iOS ui elements programmed into it for use like table views with text fields, unobtrusive alerts, etc... I've been searching all over and cant seem to find it.
I'm not aware of any library that matches exactly what you're asking for, but the reasonably-popular three multi-component libraries I'm aware of are:
three20
Tapku
SSToolkit
If they don't have what you need, the most comprehensive sites that catalog iOS libraries that I know of are:
CocoaObjects
CocoaControls
If you can't find what you're thinking of on one of those two sites, it's quite possible that it doesn't exist.

I'm interested in translating the subtitles of a course in MIT Open Courseware to my native language. I want to do it in collaborative fashion so that it would be faster. I have found the weblate. However I'm not sure whether it's possible to use it for translations of material other than software.
Do you have any experience using weblate to translate documents that are not necessarily software?
As you've probably already figured out, the many subtitle formats are directly supported by Weblate, so yes it's possible to translate non software projects.
Weblate can be used for localizing any kind of content - I've seen localizing projects for printed media or books as well.
i want to create games for multiple platforms. I want to code my games one against a common API/framework and the framework could compile the game for multiple platforms. I want the game to work as an HTML game in all browsers and also can be complied as a native app for android, iOS.
Based on these requirements i landed up on playN and currently exploring its capabilities but really stuck because of poor documentation and tutorials. though the implemented samples do help.
is there any other such frameworks probably more mature than playN with the above said capabilities.
thanks, responses much appreciated.
libGDX is a Java solution, although the What are some alternatives to PlayN? page shows other alternatives too.
This post compares PlayN and libGDX: libgdx or playn?
I'm trying to find other type of products which allows me to create a desktop app through html5 + javascript. Actually I found these three but I still don't know their technical name so I really can't search for them on google. Any suggestion about this?
Also, I'm looking for a list of similar products, to choose the one that fits my needs.
I really like how you build interfaces with html + css + javascripts with great results, but I need quite good interaction with the O.S. to handle window. Expecially, I were looking for transparent windows which seems not implemented on node-webkit at the moment, while on AppJS seems ok but I don't like the idea of serving the content like a webserver, I prefer the node-webkit approach.
Search for "HTML5 Desktop" and you will find all the platforms that allows you to build desktop apps using html5 in the first page like appjs, tidesk, pokki, node-webkit etc.
I'm not a javascript/css/html programmer. If anything I'm an objective-C, C#, C++, java programmer.
Looking at Dashcode there are features of the Utility project, Stacklayout project and some custom views that I'd like to combine into one webapp. This app would use 2 layers of stacklayout navigation, and use the infobutton to flip one of the views to get to the settings.
Is there a good way to combine dashcode projects? I notice the the generated "parts.js" file only contains dashcodePartSpecs for elements that Apple has included in that project. Can dashcode be used for non-trival projects? or this there a better way. (and yes I've already created an app store app, but Apple is trying to steal our subscription money.)
Cheers,
Gerry
There are similar to Dashcode tools that generate web "apps" Phonegap, iui, jqtouch, extjs and others.
They are essentially html/js/css frameworks from third parties. Dashcode does not get much attention from Apple where as both Phonegap and Extjs are actively supported. There is also an O-Reilly book covering Phonegap.
I am thinking there must be some libraries out there that people have developed which can be used as "plugins" or whatever people call them to do simple and common UI types of things.
I am using the message board idea as just an example, but I am looking for a general solution. For example, is there a place where I can browse "gems" for RoR that just take care of some UI component?
How do people usually integrate such pieces as a message board present at the bottom of every page, or some other ui tool without writing their own, or using a CMS?
Thanks,
Alex
Two good places to browse gems are http://ruby-toolbox.com/ and of course http://rubygems.org/
