I'm using VB.net. I need to create an application that sits in between the browser and the actual internet. Basically, I'm creating an online game that will edit some webpages that are incoming so that they contain parts of the game (it's a kind of scavenger hunt). How would I create this?
Does anybody have any ideas for this? I've found nothing online. If you do know something about this, I prefer code examples and not just subjects. I tend to need big pushes in a direction to learn something new.

I'm in a class that requires me to submit a project for an app that can help people with disabilities. What me and my partner came up with, is an app that basically has ebooks in a pdf format and can read them to the user using a text to speech method. I dont know how to code, and the class requires me to use a block based interface (thunkable), kinda like scratch, so I don't know if what we came up with it's actually 'makable'. If you have any tips or suggestion over that, of any kind we'd be happy to know your POV on our idea.

Completely new to Arduino and am looking to really dive in. An idea I have requires a small form factor for a gsm/gprs module, something that could work with one of the micro arduinos. I can't find any sort of really small gprs modules.
My question:
Is it possible to use the module from an old cell phone and adapt it to arduino? Or is that an outrageous concept? I also found one that looked interesting on (ebay) would it be possible to adapt to something like that?
I am aware that it'd be a big undertaking!

It is possible! most of the modules serially communicates you only need to get the baud-rate correct.

I'm quite new in Objective C programming and I'm trying to make an application that returns all the link addresses in HTML page. In that case i shouldn't just parse the HTML, but get these links intercepting them from the page's network request.
Is it possible to intercept the application's network requests or something?

I have a VB.NET program. In proerties/Application I checked Make a Single Instance Application. But it still allows someone from opening the program while already opened. How can I prevent this?
The short answer is you can't. VB does some tricks behind the scenes to help you accomplish this since it's a common business requirement. However anything you create that is actually exclusive opens you to a denial of service attack by someone else maliciously creating/holding that resource and denying it to you.
Common ways are creating a well known mutex/semaphore/named pipe/something similar and if it already exists, exiting the instance just launched. There just isn't a secure way of doing what you want to do.
When you select Make Single Instance Application, starting a new copy of the program will automatically switch to the existing copy.
You can customize this behavior in the Application class.
The commonest way to do this is to implement a mutex, however, I will point you to an article or two, here, and here on CodeProject.

I am looking to make a Mac version of one of my iPhone apps and was looking for a good ay to hit the ground running. I know how to code in Objective-c and Cocoa, and I know how to piece something together from scratch if I have to, but I am looking for an easier way.
Are there any open-source templates for coding Mac desktop applications that I might be able to pick up and use to get started off without reinventing the wheel?

I guess what I am looking for is an easy way to get started on an app that has the "iTunes Look and Feel". If there are some bare-bones version of this layout as some sort of template project, that would be great. Also, why has somebody down-voted this question? Have I asked something that is not appropriate for SO?
Apple includes lots of project templates with Xcode (vanilla application, document-based application, Core Data document-based application, etc.). I don't really know how much more you would want in a template. They're generally pretty good for getting you started, I think. If you're looking for something more than these offer out of a "template," maybe you could elaborate.

Besides the project templates included with Xcode, you should browse the application exmples in /Developer/Examples. Most of these examples are "full" applications that demonstrate one or more Cocoa-related concepts. Many could serve as the starting point for a similarly orriented app of your own.
