Creating compound path from multiple paths in Silverlight - silverlight-4.0

I have following piece of markup :
There is a need to create one compound path that looks exactly the same. In general, i would use Create Compound Path on group of paths, but what to do with filled circle? Any workarounds maybe? Adding Fill property doesn't help.
Also, it would be nice to have an instrument to do such operation programmatically in Silverlight.

There's a way to do this using Expression Design. If you have it, do the following:
Create a new empty document
Paste the paths into the empty canvas
Then select all (you can use the mouse to select everything or hit CTRL-A)
Then right-click on your selected paths
Click "Make Compound Path", the will merge everything into one layer
Hit CTRL-E to export Silverlight/WPF XAML
The generated file will have a single Path element with the exact shape you're asking for.
At the moment, there's no way to do it programmatically or by using Blend. It must be done in Expression Design.

Is there a way to isolate the view of code-regions in IntelliJ?

I have some static HTML and want to generate templates out of it. Looking through the HTML tags I often find myself adding the tags I don't want to have in my templates because I went too far down in the hierarchy. Is there a way to kind of isolate the view of a marked code area? Like greying all unmarked code out somehow?
I'm still not 100% sure what you mean by "mark". I'm assuming you mean "select", that is highlight with the cursor, like this:
If that is the case... here is some info.
There is no way to "highlight" the selected portion and work with it, nor a way "dither out" the non selected portion as you go on to work with the desired portion. You could, however, make use of scratch files to work on the desired text. (Scratch files at IntelliJ IDEA help documentation)
With the portion you want to modify selected, if you create a new scratch file (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Insert / ⇧⇧N or Tools > New Scratch File), the selected portion will be copied into a scratch file:
You could then work in that scratch file, then copy and paste the final result back into the original file (the changes you make in the scratch file are not "linked" to the original file).
Because you have a portion selected when you launch the scratch file, IDEA creates a scratch file of the same type (HTML in this case) as the selected content. (If done without selected text, a popup is shown asking the type of scratch file you want to create.) If you want JSP syntax awareness, in the HTML scratch file, open the context menu (i.e. right click) and select "Change Language" and select JSP from the menu (inline search is available, so you can just start typing JSP).

Creating Diagram from Excel Using VB

Sorry I can't embed images, I have the links instead (... I can only post two links. I have removed the http:// substring from some of the links).
I am looking to take an .csv file (really, any file, as I am generating this myself), and create a Visio (2010) diagram out of it. I have successfully imported the excel sheet to Visio, and can create some rough diagrams, but they are not enough. This is what I'm trying to create. Here are the following tactics I have tried, I prefer the VB method, but whatever works works:
Data Graphics: This is the closest I've gotten to a solution. Basically you create shapes and you can put data in it. Problem is, the style of display available are limited, as we can see here (imgur.com/clTLcxk). After importing the excel sheet, all I had to do was drag and drop to create these shapes. The closest I have gotten is here. However, I really need the outside box (or container, for aesthetic reasons). (Some information here [support.office.com/en-us/article/Enhance-your-data-with-data-graphics-45af64a4-1dcb-4463-9a7e-67709786181c])
VB: I have been using this (msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ff959245%28v=office.14%29.aspx). I have ran some of the example code, but I am really lost. I have run some of the example code but the only one I have really gotten to work are useless to me. Also, I don't see any API methods that actually add data to these diagrams!
So how is this done?
I would approach this problem by first defining or finding Visio masters that would the data I'm drawing to the page. In your case it looks like you'd want a master for your Foo items, and one for your Bar items.
So then you'd step through your Bars, then within each Bar you'd have one or more Foos. For each Foo, you would drop that master out, and set the text of the shape to what you want in the blue Foo section (maybe a grouped sub-shape for the Foo master), and then text in the white body.
When stepping through all the Bars, you'd obviously have to drop out a Bar shape and position/size it to contain all the Foos.

QlikView Text Object Formatting

I am unable to format the text in a text object. For example, I need headers in bold, while the body of the text could be normal. Can I get any hints on this?
I know this can be achieved via extension objects, but I do not have any experience creating them.
This is not currently possible in QlikView 11. It has been an open development request for quite some time.
You have two options:
Use multiple text objects and lay them over each other (i.e. make the topmost one bold and its background transparent).
Use an extension object, however, this then restricts you to AJAX/WebView for your document. There is an existing extension (written by Stefan Walther) that has this capability here (git repo).

How to create switchable multi-language pdf form?

I want to create a pdf form for two language (Chinese/English) UI, and there's a button(s) or somethings on the form for language switch, is there anyway can make it? and how to do?
thanks!
Thanks for all reply!
Actually I got a sample like this,
PDF Sample
there're two checkbox on the top-left of the form, one is for English UI, the other is Chinese, I just want to know how to make PDF like that sample? (and I don't see any layers on the sample...)
thx
mkl's comment (which he should turn into a full answer, really) already hinted at the option to use different page templates residing in the same file.
Another option you could explore is this:
put the two language versions into 2 different layers (or 'optional content groups' in PDF parlance)
make the visibility of the two layers toggeable
let the user activate that layer which he/she needs.
Layer activation can be handled through normal Acrobat Reader user interface elements.
The layer switching can be made accessible via a "button" on the PDF page too -- but that requires additional JavaScript to be embedded in the PDF (something many people are not particularly keen about).
As Kurt proposed, I make my comment on Frank's answer an answer in its own right:
Actually there is a pdf feature seldomly used nowerdays, page
templates. Thus, those two forms can reside in the same file in
different page templates, and based on some initially present buttons
("English version", ...) the desired form is spawned.
Unfortunately I don't know how to create page templates using some easy-to-use tool, I only came a cross them in the context of integrated PDF signatures (depending on the signature type, page template instantiation is a document change not breaking the signature) and tested them with low-level tools.
Essentially page templates are PDF objects just like page dictionaries of the normal pages, they are not XFA stuff. They merely are not referenced in the pages tree but instead in the name tree.
There is a JavaScript command which creates a visible page based on such a template --- I don't know which anymore; I may be able to find out when I'm back in office next week. This command would have to be bound to the inital language selection button in the file.
The problem will be in switching the static text - PDF does not allow this.
If I were you, I would split the document into two identical forms in the respective languages. You can use bookmarks and links on the first page to navigate to the right part of the document.
Note that it is possible to assign the same field names to the Enlgish/Chinese versions of your fields. This will make it easier to process the submitted form data because the process path would be independent of the chosen language. It will also simplify any JavaScript (validation, summing, etc.) you plan to add.

Drupal print module: controlling layout in PDF files?

Using the print module and tcpdf I'm trying to fix the layout of the PDF files for a specific content type. I'm messing around in the tpl.php file and can't find a way to modify individual fields. There's just the massive $print['content'] variable that contains all of the page content. So, is there a way to access each field?
Basically I want full control over how fields (their labels, data, etc) are displayed. Currently, they are displayed like inline elements, one after the other. This looks pretty ugly.
When you edit a "View" you will notice a link that says "Theme: Information" it retrieves all suggested tpl's for the whole $output and also for each of the fields.
