Start/stop a deployment in Weblogic 9 using JMX (or WLST) - weblogic

I want to start/stop a deployment in weblogic 9 server.
I prefer to use JMX to talk to a weblogic MBean. I already use this to start/stop a server, but I cannot find the MBean for starting/stopping deployments/applications.
In weblogic server 11g there is a AppDeploymentRuntimeMBean which can stop/start deployments. That is described here:

But I cannot find a simular MBean in weblogic 9

Is there a way to start/stop a weblogic 9 deployment using jmx or wlst?
BTW, when I record a WLST-script during start/stop of a deployment the pyton-script is empty.

Well actually AppDeploymentRuntimeMBean was first introduced in WLS 10.3 version. And this bean along with DeploymentManagerMBean were created to replace DeployerRuntimeMBean (it is considered deprecated since 9.0.0.0 version). As for me it seems that there is no way to start\stop applications with JMX on WLS 9 unless you decide to use deprecated API. And also consider the fact that you need Administration Server running in order to access Domain Runtime MBean Server that will provide an entry point to DeployerRuntimeMBean.

Weblogic wls-wsat component in Payara: CVE-2017-10271

Question: I thought Weblogic and GlassFish / Payara are completely different servers and do not share any common code/component. How come I reached a Weblogic CVE when using Payara?
Configuration: Both our development and production systems are under Payara:
Payara 4.1.1.171.1 Full edition
Oracle Java 1.8.0_144
CentOS 7
Symptoms:
we have illegal connection to url /wls-wsat/CoordinatorPortType11 and wls-wsat/ParticipantPortType, under Anonymous authentication despite having Apache Shiro as security system.
we have an unknown Pyhton program running in our Production. Nothing found in Development so far
Payara Development has shutdown once and one deployment failed ending having Payara stopped (start-domain was required). Payara Production has shutdown once. All of it for unknown reason, especially there were at most one or two users doing nothing special at the shutdown moments
What I can (not) do:
After seeing this and reading this, I think the problems is solved for WebLogic systems but I don't know the mapping GlassFish version <-> Weblogic version, if it exists
Unless I missed a big stuff, I haven't found anything related CVE-2017-10271 and Payara.
We are planning to upgrade to Payara 4.1.2.174 shortly but I have no guarantee it will fix this issue.
I'm trying to check how Shiro can block such connection
I'm asking this question to make sure that there is (or not) no relationship between WebLogic and GlassFish/Payara before opening an issue on Payara GitHub. I unsuccessfully tried to run the python script, I don't know Python :(

Mule ESB Instance Monitoring

what is the best way to monitor the Mule ESB instances. Is there a way i can get alerted when my mule instance goes down for some reason. I have 4 instances of Mule running and how will I come to know if 1 of them got down due to some reason.

I assume you are running community edition? (Enterprise edition provides a Management Console which allows you to define alerts). If you are using CE, then you are able to enable JMX monitoring on the instances and then use one of many ways to verify based on JMX info, whether your server is running. One way is to write your own application that retrieves JMX data programmatically and act accordingly.

If you are using Mule EE, you can use MMC to monitor all your instances as Gabriel has already suggested. My suggestion would be to install MMC inside tomcat on a separate server. This is to ensure that even if your Mule Server crashes or goes down, your MMC is still running and can send you alerts about your Mule server downtime. Additionally I would recommend to use MMC with database persistence to ensure you have ability to recover MMC workspace even if your MMC server crashes. You can refer about MMC setup with DB persistence at below link.

If you don't have Mule EE, you may want to explore other tools or customer alerting applications as suggested by Gabriel.

You can set up a JMX agent by adding the following lines into your "conf/wrapper.conf" file :
wrapper.java.additional.19=-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote
wrapper.java.additional.20=-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=10055
wrapper.java.additional.21=-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.authenticate=false
wrapper.java.additional.22=-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.ssl=false
wrapper.java.additional.23=-Djava.rmi.server.hostname=127.0.0.1
don't forget to change the values accordingly. Also you can implement SSL authentication with a few extra lines.
Now once your monitoring platform is set up you can always activate Java pollers and start the server.

How do i migrate my application from WebSphere to JBOSS EAP 6.2.0.GA?

I have my web application currently hosted on WebSphere Application Server 7.0.0.0.
Now i want to migrate my application to JBOSS EAP 6.2.0. GA.
Has anyone done it before? I need help on below issues.
I want to create following equivalent components in JBOSS.
1) Oracle data source
--> To create Oracle Data Source, we first definitely need to create Oracle JDBC Provider. So also need to know how to create equivalent to this in JBOSS.
2) Queue
3) Activation Specification
4) Shared library to contain configuration file and third party jars.
How to deploy applications on JBOSS knowldge would be an added advantage.

I have tried migrating from websphere to JBOSS\WildFly 10.
Not sure about the other versions of JBoss but wildfly 10 has a configuration xml which you can use to configure your server.
I configured the database, queues, queue factories, namespace bindings using this configuration xml which is available as part of the server installation itself.
The file is present in this location
YOUR_SERVER_INSTALLATION_HOME/opt/jboss/wildfly/standalone/configuration/standalone.xml

Jboss Mbeans visible in jmx-console but not in JConsole

JBoss(4.0.x) has many useful MBeans (org.apache.commons.modeler.*) that are visible in:
/jmx-console
But i cannot see these beans listed in JConsole (MBeans tab).
Are these beans not exposed to outside world?
JBoss 4.x has its own internal MBean server, separate from the default JVM one (JBoss AS 4.x pre-dates Java 5 and its MBean server, so needed its own).
I believe that in JBoss AS 5.x you can tell it to use the JVM's MBean server, but I don't think JBoss AS 4.x provides that option.

Yes they are - JBoss AS's internal MBean server is just as exposed as the JVM's one, it's just exposed differently. JConsole talks to the JVM's MBean server, you need different tools to talk to the JBoss AS one.
P.S. JBoss AS 4.0 is eye-poppingly old (2004? 2005?). You really should update it.

Setting up WebSphere MQ integration in a WebLogic clustered environment

I have a WebLogic cluster up and running an application containing an MDB. I'm currently using WebLogic JMS queues to send messages to the MDB. All is well.
I now have need to switch to IBM WebSphere MQ for my JMS messaging.
I can set this up and send/receive messages in a non-clustered environment (Admin server) using a Foreign server with a bindings file. However, I can't seem to properly configure the clustered environment for MQ integration to work correctly.
I get the following when deploying the EAR/MDB on the cluster:
The Message-Driven EJB: xxxMDB is unable to connect to the JMS destination...
javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Unable to resolve 'jms.xxxQueue'
Can anyone point me to some documentation on how to configure IBM WebSphere MQ in a WebLogic cluster?

there is a need to add several MQ JMS classes to the PATH of the weblogic so it will be able to connect to MQ
the path needed to be added is : *MQ_system_path*/java/lib64
beside that here are the clasess i have found that are needed to make this thing :
