In a Xul app, is there a high-level way to list the installed extensions?
Is the "Add-ons" window available for easy use?
I'm trying to search in the firefox source, but it's a long way... if someone could give a shortcut I would be thankful... :)
Maybe something related to RDF? (not sure..)
Found it, just needed to open the url: chrome://mozapps/content/extensions/extensions.xul from my javascript.

I have developed a counter in Vuejs with PWA and I want to keep it always on top for desktop, is this possible?.
I have been doing some research and found nothing yet.
Thanks.
FYI: It is a productivity method based on the technique of Pomodoro but with timers of 55' instead of 25'. If you want to know more about it I have written a post in medium.
As far as I know you have to use third party scripts to achieve this. Your PWA application will run within a browser (eg. Chrome) and the "always on top" setting is not something you can achieve from your application.
There are some tools for Windows and Mac though that would allow what you are looking for.
After some digging, a workaround I came with was to enable a custom <Picture in Picture> canvas created by hand, see example here:

How can I include a popup context menu in my app, just like the ones DroneDeploy use?
What's the CSS, JS lib that you use???
I know how to do this using vanilla JavaScript, but I want it to look like yours, to keep the theme in tact!
I've looked at the source and can see you are using Angular CDK's OverlayModule to provide popups.
I'm not using Angular, so I'll have to just style the popup so it looks like you themes myself.
The doc is the best way to follow up in this case. There you can see what's possible or not. Did you see this point? Here you can follow a checklist to apply in your App and build App in Drone Deploy style. You'll need to follow another way to interact with users.
Since firefox Quantum a lot of extension doesm't work anymore. One of them is the "add to Searchbar" extension. I searched in the firefox quantum Webextension API's after a solution to develop a new extension to add searchengines to the default searchinputfield. But it seems there is no api access to the searchengines list for reading or editing this List. And there is no posibility to replace the default searchbar because, you only can add a button to the toolbar. see:https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/WebExtensions/user_interface.
Is there any possbility to get access to the searchbar? And if not where can I make a feauture Request?
Currently, this is not yet possible.

I need to develop a simple webapp that allows the user to highlight a couple of words in the file (text or HTML) that he can load from the screen, and then right-click and have some options show up to choose from.
When she chooses the option , the text of it is added to the file shown on the screen, right after the highlighted text, inside some parenthesis or similar.
Is Ruby on Rails a suitable platform for developing such an app?
Is Grails more suitable ?
(Assuming similar level of knowledge in Groovy and Ruby)
In both cases, I'd appreciate pointers to gems/libraries I should be looking into for these tasks.
Thanks!
I'm not 100% sure I understand your requirements, but have you considered integrating a WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) editor into your web app? Something like CKeditor is open-source, and effective.
You could load the file into the editor and setup a custom context menu like described in part 6 of this tutorial. So when the user right clicks in the editor, the custom context menu item could be configured to facilitate the insertion you are looking to accomplish.
I agree with corroded's advice to choose a language/framework you know and can work better in, as you'll be able to achieve your desired functionality through a variety of languages/frameworks.
Best of Luck!
Find a language/framework you know and can work better in. Also, you're gonna need some javascript magicks so I suggest using jquery. Here's a link on how to do your right click action: How to distinguish between left and right mouse click with jQuery
I think the function you describe is more about client user-friendliness than server processing. I think it's can only be done with javascript/jQuery or similar tools.
Same as tmarsden, I think a good way to do that is integrating a WYSIWYG free editor. I have done it before with TinyMCE, by writing a custom plugin for this tool. If you choose using Grails as server technology, you can take a look at TinyMCE plugin for Grails.
Adobe Air's (read: Flex) mx:HTML component uses WebKit to render webpages. As such, does anyone know of a way to tweak WebKit's settings via the Air application (or a Flex API)? For example, I'd like to set WebKit's "enable-private-browsing" setting from "false" to "true".
That would be very interesting.
Sadly, judging by the source code of the HTML component and the AIR documentation, it doesn't seem that there's any way to do so.
Maybe something to propose to the Flex/AIR team on JIRA for the next version.
Since it's not possible, I've logged a ticket here: bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/SDK-25585 Let's see what happens.
For standalone application (e.g. stand for exhibition) you can build your own WebKit.
