Plugin configuration in Eclipse - eclipse-plugin

I'm investigating the use of Eclipse as a platform and I am trying to figure out how a plugin provides configuration. For example, say I have a plugin to display a user defined message. Further, I want that user defined message to be configured by the user. What is the standard way for the user to edit this message in the platform? Is there any documentation for this?

By use of the preference store in conjunction with the preferences dialog and provided field editors a plug-in developer can quickly put together a user interface for managing preferences.
The color preference page is an example of a simple page that uses a single JFace field editor to manage its values
That way, you can define several type of custom values configured by the user:

Has anyone come across issue[]?

issue[] in UiPath.
So I downloaded an extension / package from UiPath GO! named as "Jira Integrating Software". This Packages comes with several APIs to access Jira tickets.
I was working with one of these APIs called "Search by JQL". JQL is Jira Query Language comes in handy for Advance searching. The output type of this "Search by JQL" activity is issues[].
Now when I am Iterating this array it gives me an output of "UiPath.JiraSoftware.Models.Issue"
You should use a For Each activity iterating the ResultArray Array you got from the Search JQL.
The following is just pseudo code! But it should work like this. Maybe the name of the property is not IssueId. That was not completely told in the document. But this you can when you inspect it by using the debug mode:

How can i introduce my own permission in a plugin

I would like to write an plugin for the cockpit app. The feature i would like to add includes also an additional item in the drop-down menu. However i also would like to introduce my own permission. If the role of the user has the permission the item in menu will be shown otherwise not. Is this possible at all? And how does at look like? I checked the online documentation but couldn't find anything about it. I hope someone could help me...
The only way to introduce new permissions is through a microservice in its manifest. With purely UI you cannot add those.
As an alternative you could base your plugin on any property of the user. You probably would than want to have a second plugin to set/manage this for a user.

Web Dynpro for ABAP Explanation Text (Green Underline) not working for certain users

I have recently added Explanation text to certain fields on the SRM Contract screen (both standard and cusom fields). The user that I unit tested with worked fine, however most other users do not work. After investigation I've found that it is not just the Explanation Text that I've added, but all Explanation Text that is missing.
According to the sap help entry the behaviour is similar to what I would expect for Help mode = off.
Is it possible to turn Help mode on or off on a per user (or role) basis, and where should I look to find this?
you already found it: SAP Help says:
"You can activate the help mode either in the personal settings in the portal or in the associated URL Parameter" ... means in personal Settings, but I feel that you want it globally not on personal base or in the associated URL Parameter. The latter means you'll have to find the application in the Portal Content, there you can find URL Parameter and i would try adding HELPMODE=ON... does this help you?
start by rightclicking you application "Technical Help" or "..Help" and see what application you are looking for. Then Google the application and add +"Portal Content", I think then you'll find it.

How is the Trac Project List page customised?

We've been using Trac for a while now for our developers only. However we are now opening it up for our (internal) clients. We have a project listing page (based on the default one that comes with Trac). What we'd like to do, is display more information about the project than what is currently available.
I have searched google and here, to see if I can find how to get more information. There seems to be a variable called $project which has .name, .description and .href as attributes.
Is there somewhere, a list of the attributes available? Or perhaps a different solution altogether that will allow us to display more information on the project list page. Such as the number of open tickets etc.
As far as I known, you can use $project.env as well. It is an object, which provides a number of attributes:

On the project page customization page there is not much variables, indeed. Looking at the source code there is also trac.version, trac.time, but that's all. There is also project.env that may hold more information. I do not have a multiproject setup at hand, so you might be interested to see for yourself what variables are available with TracDeveloper plugin. It dumps variables if enabled and you add debug=true in the URL.

Localization of a DotNetNuke website

I am working on a website in dnn. I want to change the language of website or particular page. So I download the language package for spanish(es-es),chinese(zh-cn) and install them from host. Next when I changed the language of browser then the website language didn't change. Working on dnn 5.0.
Please let me know how I can use language packages in dnn website.
For initial translations and maintenance of DotNetNuke translations, I recommend the use of OmegaT. It handles resx files directly. And content (such as HTML or Blogs) can be downloaded, translated and then uploaded thanks to the APIs of DNN (drop me a note if you need the scripts).
OmegaT stores the translations in it's memory (a TMX file, which is actually some kind of XML). It also uses Google Translate and similars, and has a fast user interface which increases translation speed a lot when compared against continously waiting for DotNetNuke to handle your updated resources.

The language packs don't always have translations for everything on the site, especially content that you added yourself. You'll need to do two things to get them working properly:
Go to Admin > Languages, and enable the languages you want to use.
Open the Language Editor and start translating. Under each resource name, you will see an edit text box for the localized value, and a read-only text box for the default value. In most cases, you'll need to translate verbatim what you see under "default value".
We had to write our own menu provider to get the menu to do this - instead of going for the resource files we went for a database solution - other reasons applied to this as well - we also built an interface for doing this - as for things like the text/html module there are some third party builds that allow you to nationalize content. Apollo comes to mind Apollo Software they have some multilanguage modules
The language packs will typically only localize text used by the core such as "Login" and "Settings". It is designed so that you can have a site in a language other than English, not so you can have multiple languages on one site. You can easily have multiple portals, each with a different language.
In order to have multiple locales on one portal you will need to use a third party module or develop your own.
