Some undesired words appeared in Google's snippets, how to get read of it? - seo

I know Google's creation of sites' titles and descriptions (or "snippets") are mainly come from META description. However, when one of my web pages shows up, there are some undesired words like price (which is not good at all). What I want it to show is just the description of the product rather than its price. Actually the price only mentioned twice in the whole page.
How could this happen? And how can I remedy it?

Including the price in the snippet is actually very desirable for most people. If your price is higher than the competition's for the same products they probably don't want to buy from you and check out other results instead.
To make sure the search engines don't see the price (and thus don't display it in the results) you should use JavaScript. I think even Amazon does this to prevent screen scraping in some cases. It should be easy, especially with something like jQuery.

You should be able to control the snippet displayed by google through the use of the meta tags:

However the results displayed by Google in this case might be different if someone is trying to do some searching on a product. Google will then think you're shopping for that product and try to display the price of it. This might be the case for you.

Why is PrestaShop redirrecting to a random product when selecting variations from front-end?

I have an online shop in development, all went well until I decided to do SEO on the shop. After this, if I chose a product variation from front-end it just redirects me to a random product.
This picture describes the first state. The default product load.
This picture describes what is happening after you select a variation. As you can see the product name stays the same, but the link indicates that a totally different product is displayed.
If I have the debug mode enabled when selecting a variation it throws "An error occurred while processing your request" and in the request file I can see that besides some errors (Deprecated: array_key_exists(): Using array_key_exists()) it shows the request for a different product.
I can't understand why this is happening, so I am in dying need of your help.
That's the way Prestashop 1.7 works :
First time a customer lands in a multi-variation page, the default attribute will be loaded,
URL will show only the ID product.
Once you choose an attribute , an AJAX call will refresh the page
with the current attribute and URL will change with id_product-id_product_attribute value.
Not sure what you mean by "random product" as in both of your examples I see an attribute
being selected.

EDIT: Just noticed that the ID product is different in the two screenshot, this could be related to some DB issues with attribute too, you should check if you have some not coherent values between id_product and id_product_attribute(s)
I found a fix for this. Apparently or appeared because I was using the duplicate function for uploading products. I don't know why but on some products it makes this behavior.
I've spent over 12 hours to find a explanation for this and I was unable to find one. The PrestaShop forum straight up banned me for posting this topic.
My advice is to NOT USE PRESTASHOP it's and old sistem and full of bugs, the support is expensive and I get the impression that even they don't understand their system.
If you find yourself in this situation, know this. Don't duplicate and upload products using "add new" function.
And I can't state this enough, do yourself a favour and don't use Presta, with all the expenses the time to invest and what the product looks like at the end of the road, is just a waste of time. Even after you finish is guaranteed to break in 1-2 years, any updates will break your store and you will need to invest even more more to fix it. It's an old, slow and buggy CMS. It's days are numbered.

Schema.org mandatory fields and the time needed until Google shows changes

I have implemented Schema.org (using Microdata) inside my product pages and when I check Google Webmaster Tools it is crawled by Googlebot and interpreted successfully. The point is I have not implemented some properties inside Product type like brand.
I need to know whether there is some subset of all product attributes should be implemented essentially?
And the second question is how much it takes for Google to show product rating and price as rich snippet inside search results?
There are no mandatory properties/types in Schema.org.
However, consumers of the data, like Google Search, might have rules under which conditions they will make something with your data (e.g., they are looking for specific properties). So you’d have to check their documentation.
For Google Search, their Rich Snippets are documented at https://developers.google.com/structured-data/rich-snippets/. The Products Rich Snippets lists the required and optional properties/types. As you can see, the brand property is not required by Google for showing their Rich Snippet in the search results.

First you should consider checking if the validfrom and availability attributes are added because both of them are the most common mistakes when you write your first SEO codes.
Then there are some attributes that while they are not in required list by Google's developers there seem to be the once that all successful snippets have (you might have noticed that too ) , the : review and vote attributes including the expect values from schema.org libraries. In some people's opinion ,mine also, having those will "almost" make sure they will get noticed.
Those are not pretty easy to get because u will have to create a way for getting reviews and votes.
Otherwise try using the webmaster new tool search console to highlight data for product snippet. Just make sure that the required attributes have their expected values in the text so you can mark all the above attributes with the tool.
Make sure all the attributes are markup and not meta data as it shows you are just making information up.
About the time , check that the structured data have increase for the peoduct and if not then fetch and submit to index.

Google listing my product as "Free" in search results

I have used Schema.org properties on my eCommerce site. Today I listed few new products that don't have prices yet, so listed with $0 price.
Now Google is fetching these products as "Free" item in its search results (find the "Digital Cinema" result and you will see "Free" attribute in result).
What I can do?
I can remove price from itemprop="price" but it will throw an error for my code.
Not sure how to deal with it.
Either you have a price (in which case you provide the price property), or you don’t (in which case you omit the price property).
Getting an error in Google’s Structured Data Testing Tool does not necessarily mean that your code is invalid (there are no required properties in Schema.org, so having no price is perfectly fine). It just means that Google probably won’t display a Rich Snippet for this content. And rightly so, as you don’t have a price, so what should they display instead?
So omit the price property for now; add it as soon as you have the price.
If you're able to have the display price as a string, you can set it something like "$TBD" (To Be Determined), or even "Out Of Stock". This is how I've seen some other web stores do it.

google finance api alternative for monitoring/modifying portfolio?

I used to use google finance to create portfolios/change them and then display them on my site but since its being removed I'm wondering if there's any good free alternatives?
Basically I have a program that creates different portfolios based on different factors(20 right now), so each of the 20 links on my site direct people to a page that displays the portfolios. I am looking for something that I can use to automatically update the portfolios.
If it helps, my site is basically a free tutorial site that helps people learn how to manage their own portfolios. There's different lessons and then using market data & news(which I already get) I automatically generate a sample portfolio to show them how everything comes together. I liked google finance because they could see all of google's data but they could also click around and dig deeper if they want.
Is there anything I can use to get this result?

Is there a way to get details of the product from single insudtry?

I want to maintain a database of all the products or the brands with respect to industry.
For example I need to get information about all the food supplements. How can I get them?
I am not sure all the companies have an API for their products.

Uhm,... what kind of information? If you need prices, you can probably get information from goverment sources. At least you can here in Argentina. Other than that, I don't think it's possible, unless you somehow manage to scrape websites of all the brands you want to track.
Speaking as someone who has worked for two data-aggregation companies, aggregating data involves a lot of manual work. You find the sources, you automate the acquisition of data as best you can (APIs, file downloads and imports, even screen scraping from HTML pages), and you stay on top of it constantly. You're always looking for additional sources, updating code for sources that have changed, minding legal implications of sources who don't want you to harvest their data, etc.
Sometimes you have to buy the data, or weigh that cost against not having data from that source or scraping it manually. Sometimes a source will block you in some way and you need to either try to get around that or negotiate some terms with them. It's a viable business model, but it's not cheap.
For some products, Retailigence ( http://www.retailigence.com ) may have data in API form. They basically keep track of local stores' inventory and pricing for certain categories of products.
