Wrong 'Local Path' in DCOM Config entry - dcom

I have a component in DCOM Config whose 'Local Path' (on the General tab of the Properties page for that component in dcomcnfg) is pointing to the wrong place. However when I go to that directory and unregister the component using "componentname.exe /unregserver", the Local Path for that component remains unchanged.
I've also tried going to the correct directory and registering the component there, using "componentname.exe /regserver", but the value in 'Local Path' still doesn't change.
Any suggestions?

Sounds to me like that componentname.exe is not using the ProgID/GUID that you think it's using. Either that or its register/unregister commands aren't working. Do you have the source? You could step through the registration routine and see what it's doing.

Ho to fix odoo report missing PDF Layout?

I have customized the layout of sales order template ( added footer and header, formatted content etc. ). For this i created a new module and installed it. When i use this module locally (mac os), i am receiving the sales order document as pdf in the way i set it up. When using this module on a server and all changes do not apply at all. I can see that the module is installed, loaded and also if i switch the PDF-Report to HTML i can see that the Layout is set.
There are no 404 Errors in Logfile, so i am somehow stuck
As far as i understood the PDF File is a rendered HTML-File, therefore i am obviously missing some information here.
So my question is, where can i check what layout is used to generate the PDF-File?

After finally finding something via more searches i found the solition which i want to share:
It is important to understand that if odoo is running public on any other port than 8069 ( portforwarding etc. ) this issue will always occur.
Generating the pdf will try to find needed assets on the public port which will not lead where needed.
The Solution is so easy but somehow i wasnt able to find it easily:
All you need to do is to set a proper url for report generation.
Goto -> Settings -> Parameters -> System Parameters
and add:
key: report.url
value: http://localhost:8069
localhost is here the correct domain, do not change this, so the machine will call the report url on itself.
Can you check your report layout in Settings ->Technical Settings ->Actions->Reports then search for your report and check qweb views
I also faced the same problem, struggled for a long period. After reading #patrick.tresp explanation I understood the reason.
For my case, I made made the odoo port (8069) as the default port, which made the base url as the localhost (domain.com) without the port number. However report url is not detecting the port, hence the problem occurs.
When I explicitly defined the report url, the problem get sorted.
i.e., Goto
Settings -> Parameters -> System Parameters
and add:
key: report.url
value: http://domain.ext:8069

The location of .config for geotiler on Windows

I'm working in jupyter notebook on Windows with matplotlib basemaps and I want to use geotiler with the basemaps. I'm writing a program and as part of it, it will generate a map and plot data points on it. However, the maps that my code generates often are over a small part of the world and have no defining features. My solution was to import the geotiler library and display it over the map with an alpha so the maps generated would be identifiable. However, when I use the geotiler.Map() function, I get a message saying that the configuration file does not exist.

How do I locate the .config folder on Windows, if it exists, and where should I create it if it doesn't? I already tried my user folder but that didn't seem to work. Thanks in advance.
Figured it out.
The read_config() method in the source code tries to get the HOME environment variable, which for Windows is blank, and appends the path for the config to that. Importing os and manually setting the HOME variable to wherever you placed your .config folder seems to do the trick. You can do this with os.environ['HOME'] = 'C:\Users\YourName'.

Odoo 9 - cannot load custom module

I am brand new to odoo, just installed version 9 and made a module 'aidentest' using
.>>python odoo.py scaffold aidentest addons
That created the aidentest module in the addons folder. Uncommented everything in the autogenerated files
but when I went to check out my 'Hello World' page at
http://localhost:8069/aidentest/aidentest
I got a 404 not found
So I went to apps to try and load my module, but I could not find it.
Does anyone know what I need to do on Odoo 9 to load up and start coding my custom module?
Briefly: You have to activate developer mode by going to Top right menu>about>activate developer mode
I had basically given up, and was mindlessly clicking about when I hit the 'About' link on the generic-whiteguy dropdown. I had to actually stop thinking before I was able to locate the completely senseless place where they put the thing I need.
The About modal window popped up, and in it was an activate the developer mode button
Some things changed immediately, but I still couldn't find my custom module.
Then I walked away, came back and when I returned I had some auto-generated emails (new things had loaded - slowly). Did this mean that maybe my module had also become accessible? I checked, and sure enough, there it was.
ZERO DOCUMENTATION about this
Please check the config file.Then send the last error it has.

Menu Items are not getting displayed

I implemented WL.OptionsMenu in android environment as specified in Worklight APIs(android/js/mainApp.js). If menu option is clicked, I've given a callback function . Its working fine if the callback resides in the same file. But the implementation of that callback is resided in android/native/common/js/mainApp.js file. Hence, its not showing the menuOptions in android mobile. How to solve this problem?

There is no such path, in Worklight, as android/native/common/js/mainApp.js.
Perhaps you mean android/native/assets/www/default/common/js/mainApp.js, but then again, it is exactly the same as android/js/mainApp.js.
The only difference is that android/native/assets/www/default/common/js/mainApp.js is created after you build your application.
There is no reason why it should not work.
Again, edit your question with the contents of mainApp.js and the steps you have taken from creating the project, to running it in your device/emulator.

how to detect use of Perforce's "reopen for edit" from a script

I'm working on a script to interact with Perforce, which among other things needs to be able to understand pending changelists. For this I use 'p4 describe' and 'p4 opened', which are pretty straightforward. For instance, a file opened for edit shows up like this (from p4 opened):
//source/stuff/things.h#1 add default change (text)
What I can't seem to figure out is how to detect cases where a user has branched a file and then used the 'Reopen for edit' command on that file (which amounts to using 'p4 edit' on the file to be branched) prior to submitting it. Same thing goes for integrating a file and then using 'Reopen for edit' before submitting the integration. In the branch case, the file shows up as an 'add' with no indication that there's also a branch going on (so the above example could be either a true add or a reopened branch). In the integrate case it, shows up as an 'edit'. In both cases, after I submit the change I can see that the file was branched/integrated, but I need to be able to do this for pending changes. In theory I would hope to see something like this, where things.h is being branched and edited from thangs.h:

Does anybody know of a way to accomplish this? I'll also mention that I'm running an old-ish version of Perforce (from 2004), so perhaps it's doable in newer versions and I just need to update my software.
"p4 resolved" does almost exactly what you want, but unfortunately it is new in 2007.2.

You probably won't be able to detect problems before the user runs "resolve", but they're going to have to resolve before they submit.
I do not think that this is possible when issuing a "reopen for edit". As you have already indicated, the reopen command will change a files status to something different. I ran a local test (I'm running 2008.2). There do seem to be some changes in the way that perforce reports on the add/edit status of files since your version, but what you are trying to do still doesn't seem possible

Note that the opened command now shows 'branch' for the file status instead of add which I think it might have shown with your version of the server. But the kicker:
