JBoss Tools 4.16.0 Final completely freeze Eclipse 4.16 (2020-06) - eclipse-plugin

I'm using Eclipse EE 4.16 (2020-06) - on Windows 10 Professional x64 - and I've tried to install the JBoss Tools 4.16.0 Final Plugin for it.
It literally break the IDE, whatever I try to do the IDE freezes: If I copy -> paste some code the IDE freezes for about 10 seconds (the screen become gray and Eclipse not responding).. the same thing happens if I try to navigate through classes or method (even worst..).
I tries even with Eclipse EE 4.15 (2020-03) but I obtain the same result.
Googling around I have found hypothetical solutions regarding eclipse.ini file changes but nothing works.
I attach a thread dump here.
Can you help me?

can you please also try https://tools.jboss.org/downloads/jbosstools/2020-09/4.17.0.Final.html? Its based on Eclipse 2020-09, so it could help.
Which JDK version are you using?
Thanks for response!
Josef

My Netbeans 12.2 on Ubuntu only has lightweight & temporary C++ IDE, can't find the real one

In Netbeans 12.2 on Ubuntu 18.04 (using that snap install), for my C++ plugin I have that first image. When I try to create a new project I get that second image. That is some kind of a lightweight version that does not do your makefiles for you. If I try to open an existing C++ project it just never IDs any project file or folder as the right one. And notice that this version does not include a "Create from source code".
Does anyone know how I can install the "real" c++ plugin? I've looked in a lot of tutorials but they all say it should be there under Available Plugins, but it is not there.
This comes very late but it seems that Netbeans 12 lacks some components for this.
Therefore you must enable Netbeans 8.2 Plugin Portal from Plugins Settings.
Then deactivate the C/C++ and then force updates from Updates -> Check for Updates. Restart IDE and install 8.2 C/C++ plugin.
Note: I have lead into this problem now because unpack2000 is no more present.
The validation of downloaded plugins cannot be completed, cause: NBM ../.netbeans/12.4/update/download/org-netbeans-modules-cnd-kit.nbm needs unpack200 to process following entries:
netbeans/modules/locale/org-netbeans-modules-cnd-kit_ja.jar.pack.gz
netbeans/modules/locale/org-netbeans-modules-cnd-kit_pt_BR.jar.pack.gz
netbeans/modules/locale/org-netbeans-modules-cnd-kit_ru.jar.pack.gz
netbeans/modules/locale/org-netbeans-modules-cnd-kit_zh_CN.jar.pack.gz
netbeans/modules/org-netbeans-modules-cnd-kit.jar.pack.gz
This can be resolved by installing jre-11 (if it is not present already. I have it on Opensuse Thubleweed amogst with jre-16).
So then you just start netbeans from terminal with:
$ netbeans --jdkhome "/usr/lib64/jvm/jre-11"
...and then install blugin, and when it is ready close netbeans and start it normally again.
Just wanted to report that the answer from Devspain also works with Netbeans 14, in Ubuntu 22.04.

Intellij idea-IU-171.3780.107 ugly after upgrade from idea-IU-162.2228.15 in Ubuntu

I have just upgraded my Intellij IDEA (Java IDE) from idea-IU-162.2228.15 to idea-IU-171.3780.107 (folder names of the downloads) as suggested by the update manager. Now I am wondering, that the UI is ugly in my opinion. I like the UI of the idea-IU-162.2228.15 much more.
The UI from idea-IU-162.2228.15:
The "ugly" (my opinion ;) UI from idea-IU-171.3780.107:
Is this a new UI or a error in my system? I am using Ubuntu 16.04. If it is an error, how can I fix it and if not, how can I get the old UI back?
Edit:
Ok, tank to Rumid. I have fixed the icons problem. But the fonts aren't as in the old IDE:
Fonts in the 2016 Version:
Fonts in the 2017 Version:
I honestly don't know if I haved this in the old (2016) by myself. I checked the settings in both IDEs but I could not see any difference in the settings. How can I get the fonts of my 2016 Idea?
It is not a bug, the new icons were provided in Idea 2016.3.
If you don't like it you can install this plugin: Idea 2016.2 Icon Pack.

Where has the JavaFX scene builder gone?

I am trying to find the elusive JavaFX scene builder so I can use it in Intellij. I am on Windows OS.
Oracle have stated that the JavaFX scene builder is included in a new download, but no matter how I search I cannot find it (see http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javafx/downloads/index.html). I think they have linked to the incorrect page and Googling for it is getting me nowhere.
I already have Java 8 SDK installed and working fine. Apparently JavaFX is now included in that, but nowhere in the Java folder can I find the scene builder and it seems to be completely missing online.
Please can anyone help? I am just wanting to write a small GUI program and it seems like JavaFX is the way to go (if it isn't then feel free to disabuse me of this notion!)
With JDK8u40, according to this:
Starting with Oracle Java SE 8u40, Oracle does not provide a separate set of accompanying JavaFX Scene Builder binaries. If you would like to contribute changes, ideas or just let us know what you have done with the code, please consult the OpenJDK Community contribution guidelines and join the openjfx-dev mailing list.
You can still download the last binary at Oracle in this link. But check this warning:
WARNING: These versions of JavaFX Scene Builder may include components that do not contain the latest security patches and are not recommended for use in production.
This means it doesn't include the last changes of 8u40, like the new Spinner control.
Alternatives
The project is open source, and you can find the updated code at the OpenJFX repo. So you are free to download it and build it.
Since its released under BSD license, Gluon is offering support for an updated version of Scene Builder, and you can download an installer for your platform or an executable jar from here.
Besides, they have an open repository where anybody can contribute.
Install JavaFx Scene Builder (Gluon) with Intellij 14 on Windows with JDK7
This will probably work with Java 8 as well but I am using 7 so I didn't test 8.
I know this has been answered but this might be helpful for future Intellij users. To get scene builder to work with Intellij 14 use the following steps.
Install Scene Builder for Windows. Download/Install From Here (Windows Installer (x64))
Set Scene Builder path to executable in Intellij. File -> Settings
-> Languages And Frameworks -> JavaFx By default mine installed under C:\Users\kris\AppData\Local\SceneBuilder\
Open your .fxml file. Click on the scene builder tab.
UPDATE 2019:
The default install path appears to know be "Program Files" C:\Program Files\SceneBuilder\SceneBuilder.exe
JavaFX plugin might need to be enabled in Intellij 2019
On a mac, in Intellij, you need to go to preferences, then type JavaFX and then do this. Please look at the attached Image.

Intellij IDEA 13 - Can't open Project Structure dialog anymore

as already described in title, i'm not able to open the project structure dialog window in intellij anymore.
neither the shortcut (Ctrl+alt+shift+s) nor the menu element under File -> Project Structure nor the little button in the upper right corner do work.
Clarification: Menu element :
This "bug" occured suddenly as I wrote a web (vaadin/maven) project and tried to set up glassfish, where i often had to switch to the project structure dialog.
Since the first occurence i wasn't able to fix it by restarting intellij or switching projects.
This also happened on my laptop running the same intellij and windows version (Ultimate 13.0.1 Build: 133.331 on Windows 7 x64)
i appreciate any help!
This also happened to me, but removing new plugins etc didn't help.
Nor did nuking my project and rebuilding it from scratch.
In the end I deleted all caches, restarted Intellij and at last I could access the project settings again! By the way, I'm using Intellij 11.1 - mainly because I can't get 13 to start up, but that's another story
Your log shows that it is a bug in IntelliJ IDEA - they are trying to create file passing null pathname. Try to delete project files and reopen project from scratch (maybe you've lost some file) - if it won't help then you should create an issue here: http://youtrack.jetbrains.com/ - You can even copy-paste text from your question and attach stacktrace
I had the same issue...upon further inspection in the log dump...I noticed the following:
ERROR - llij.ide.plugins.PluginManager - com.intellij.openapi.fileChooser.FileChooserDescriptor.setTitle(Ljava/lang/String;)V
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.intellij.openapi.fileChooser.FileChooserDescriptor.setTitle(Ljava/lang/String;)V
at com.jetbrains.python.sdk.PythonSdkType.getHomeChooserDescriptor(PythonSdkType.java:247)
Disabled the latest Python Plugin and restarted and everything is working normal again.
I remembered I had recently update my python plugin and am not using it presently so I was able to disable it without issue.
Hope this helps someone else.
This also happened to me. The comment above helped. I had just added some plugins. Disabled them and it started working again. Not sure exactly which one because I disabled all 4 -- Bean Validation Support, Bitbucket, Jelastic Cloud Platform Integration, and Quick Notes.
For me it has been resolved by switching off FindBugs plugin and restart IDEA. So Project Structure is available for me now.
One of the plugins might be causing it. To disable a plugin, go here:
You'll know for sure if a plugin is bad if you see this Exclamation picture:
Clicking on it will bring up a pop-up. To disable the plugin, click on this:
For me it got resolved just by restarting the intelliJ IDEA. I'm using intelliJ IDEA Ultimate 2018.1 edition.

smartGWT and Eclipse with WindowBuilder

I am using eclipse Helios with SmartGWT. If I start the WindowBuilder to design a GUI I always get this error message:
WindowBuilder supports only SmartGWT versions 2.2, 2.3. But 2.4 found.
I tried to use SmartGWT Version 2.2 by removing the 2.4 jars and adding the 2.2 jars.
However the message remained the same. If I use the GWT Designer it works, but I do not get the SmartGWT controls, but just he usual ones fropm GWT.
I know that I had it working with SmartGWT 2.4 some ancient time but I have no idea what's wrong now...
Does anybody have an idea ? It would already help I could get the smartgwt controls to the WT designer but I have no idea on how to do that...
Thanks very much
You have to follow the instructions here.
To summarize:
create a new java project with the gwt designer class found here
add the version numbers to the VALID_VERSIONS and VALID_VERSIONS_STRINGS in the code (eg, "3.0", "3.1", "4.0")
you'll have to add the following JAR's from your Indigo plugins folder:
com.google.gdt.eclipse.designer.SmartGWT_2.6.0.r37x201206111253.jar
com.google.gdt.eclipse.designer_3.1.2.r37x201303061530.jar
org.eclipse.wb.core_1.5.0.r37x201206111201.jar
org.eclipse.jdt.core_3.7.3.v20120119-1537.jar
org.apache.commons.lang_2.4.0.v201005080502.jar
close eclipse
open com.google.gdt.eclipse.designer.SmartGWT_2.6.0.r37x201206111253.jar with 7Zip or something and replace the class files, which will be under your project bin folder
This seems to be working well with SmartGWT 4.0 also. Unfortunately we're still stuck with using Indigo with WindowBuilder. Juno might work for simple GWT, but I don't remember. Kepler isn't working at all.
