I am running a VueJS SPA app on top of a Flask webserver.
I am using Vue CLI 3 with a vue.config.js file with default values.
The resulting application is structured like this:
static/
dist/
index.html
css/
js/
app.js
file1.js
file2.js
I am using the app as a frontend for Flask and Flask is serving the static files from the static folder as per above. As such when the app.js file reference file1.js it needs to reference it as static/dist/js/file1.js. Currently it appears to be referencing it as js/file1.js.
How can I give a path prefix to Vue CLI not to put files in a specific path, but to reference files from a specific parent path no matter where they are?

My folder structure of Angular 10 project is given below
-Backend
-e2e
-node_modules
-src
I want to access backend/uploads/profilepic.jpg in the angular's index.html page. Simply, i just want to load an image file in the front end which is uploaded in the backend folders.
A static resource, like an image, is either bundled inside the angular webapp, by adding it to the assets folder (e.g. 'src\assets\images') and have that folder referenced inside angular.json:
"assets": [
"src/assets"
],
Or, make the backend serve that image and simply access it from the frontend like this:
<img alt="xyz" src="https://yourdomain/img_test.png">
If both the backend and frontend are hosted on the same domain, you can use relative path for the URL, i.e https://yourdomain can be omitted.
Finally, I found the solution. In order to access the files of the 'uploads' folder which is located in the backend folder. I have to make that folder static. for that in my server.js file, I have added below code
app.use('*/uploads',express.static('uploads'));
after that, I could load my image file from that uploads folder by calling
http://localhost:8090/uploads/image.jpg
I am currently building a Vue app which requires a .htaccess which includes the subdirectory (publicPath) that the app will be installed in.
Is there a 'builtin' way to create .htaccess in public/ or assets/ that is updated to include publicPath?
I've looked at the HtmlWebpackPlugin template handling of index.html, but this doesn't seem to have the option to modify other files.
Otherwise I guess I can run some custom JS as part of the build process.
I am working on an MPA with Vue and codeigniter. I have the following architecture:
-htdocs(root)
- application
- src
- views
- models
- controllers
I work with my frontend basically in the src directory and the others are codeigniter MVC model directories. What I am doing is configuring the webpack to build directly in the views directory so that my codeigniter can consume the generated htmls, configured as follows: (in this case I set it up in the vue.config.js file
)
outputDir: './views'
Up to this point everything works fine, wepback does the bundles and generates all the necessary files inside my views directory.The problem now is that the path to the files is the root of the project. Then he tries to fetch the files like this:
<link rel="preaload" href="/css/chunk-common.45fe69c2.css" as="style">
So that it points to the correct path (application/views) I made the following configuration in the vue.config.js:
assetsDir: './views'
But now when he is going to do the build I have the following warning and the files bundle is not completed.
Does anyone know why this happens?
Assuming you want to access static assets under the base URL http://example.com/application/views/..., you'll want to set the publicPath property in your config
// vue.config.js
module.exports = {
outputDir: 'views',
publicPath: '/application/views/',
// ...
}
FYI, if you ever do want to use assetsDir, don't prefix it with ./
A directory (relative to outputDir) to nest generated static assets (js, css, img, fonts) under.
An example would be
assetsDir: 'assets'
which would dump files in views/assets/css, views/assets/js, etc.
I would like to deploy my app to a virtual directory. I have been unable to figure out the correct configuration needed to run the app locally with a similar structure. For example, I'd like to run it from:
http://localhost:8080/demos
I have tried every combination of adding "demos" to publicPath and contentBase in my webpack config. The errors just between 404's on static assets and router errors from Aurelia.
It is documented by Aurelia router, you can add base tag to index.html header, <base href="/demos">, and set router root config.options.root = "/demos"; in configureRouter().
In addition, if your bundled js files are indeed served from directory, you need to modified baseDir in 2 places of aurelia.json: platform.baseDir and build.targets[0].baseDir.
Trying to use the aurelia cli bundling facility.
Is it possible to serve all app files (i.e. index.html, app-bundle.html, app-bundle.js, etc) from a single directory or index.html must be at the top (./) directory and the other files in a child (./dist) directory?
Under the covers the cli is using JSPM / System.js's bundling functionality. This works by looking at your config.js paths on where to find the files both for the bundle and when serving. If your paths are set up to serve from the root directory this should work as expected. The problem will be that if you are trying to bundle root it will try to grab all .js files in there which could be bad if you don't exclude them.
