Autofill with python - selenium

I'm trying to build a bot with python. I want python to act as an autofill and I made this part of programm :
> ord_billing_name=driver.find_element_by_xpath('//*[#id="cart-
address"]/fieldset/div[1]').click()
> ord_billing_name.send_keys(buyerName)
(The programm to get to the website works)
But python displays :
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'send_keys'
And the case is not filled on the website.
Please, can someone tell me what is wrong ?
Thanks a bunch.

.click() doesn't return anything but you are assigning the return to ord_billing_name. You need to separate this into 3 lines... first line is grabbing the element and assigning it to the variable. The other two lines are click() and send_keys().
ord_billing_name = driver.find_element_by_xpath('//*[#id="cart-address"]/fieldset/div[1]')
ord_billing_name.click()
ord_billing_name.send_keys(buyerName)

How to find an element containing #nbsp; in text?

I've an element with html -
<h3>App-1 Playground Login</h3>
I want to identify it with entire text - App-1 Playground Login, but causing issues to identify it. Please help how this element can be identified.
Please use the below xpath. I have already tested that and it is working fine. In the second argument of the translate method you need to type "ALT+0160" and in the third argument you will have to put just a normal space.
//h3[contains(translate(text(),' ',' ' ), 'App-1 Playground Login')]
One of the way to select your title could be :
//h3[text()= concat('App-1 Playground',codepoints-to-string(160),'Login')]
Works fine on http://xpather.com/

How to solve duplicate output by using search bar in ionic 4

I am using ionic 4. I want to do search function in my apps. I am using search bar and get the result from API.
My problem is it always output duplicate result.
One problem is I haven't typing the word finish it already match the result that I want to search, then it will output the result.
Another problem is when I finish typing it output again the result.
How can I solved or avoid this problem?
Here is my html code:
<ion-searchbar [(ngModel)]="name" (ionCancel)="onCancel($event)" (ionChange)="Search($event)"></ion-searchbar>
Here is my home.page.ts
Search() {
this.myService.getSearch(this.name);
}
The second one sounds like you are not wiping the data in your this.myService.getSearch call - check what it does in there, is it starting from a new list or just returning more results? If that doesn't solve that issue then post the code for that section.
The first issue is by design.
You can slow this down with the debounce option:
<ion-searchbar debounce="1500"></ion-searchbar>
There are two input events you can experiment with ionChange and ionInput - they act differently but I cannot remember exactly which does which, you will have to try them both. A third option would be to handle neither of them and just use a submit button.

I.click()-selector in CodeceptJS - how to find first button with specific innerHTML

I have various buttons and several buttons with the same name "Start". I need to click on the first found button with this name (innerHTML).
With jQuery this works with :
$('button:contains(Start):first').click()
How does it work with I.click()-Selector in CodeceptJS? I can't find the right syntax and always getting:
"invalid selector: An invalid or illegal selector was specified"
Here is the API for this function: https://github.com/Codeception/CodeceptJS/blob/master/docs/webapi/click.mustache
The only working solution I found is:
I.click('//button[1]');
But this solution is confusing, because you need to know the exactly number in the order of this element - and I have a lot of buttons with different names. Also this not allows me to search by innerHTML such as "Start".
You could use the I.executeScript like this:
I.executeScript("var elements = document.getElementsByName('Start');elements[0].click();"); or
I.executeScript("var elements =
document.querySelector(\"button[name*='Start']\");elements[0].click();");
You need using XPath for that
//button[1][contains(text(), 'Start')]
locate("//button[contains(text(), 'Start')]").first()
or
locate("//button[contains(text(), 'Start')]").at(1)
Works fine.

Codeception- "Failed asserting that two strings are equal." when using $I->canSeeInField

I am going to a field, entering text, saving it, then going back to verify the value is still in the field.
$I->waitForText is not working. Not sure why. I am trying the following but getting the error below:
$I->canSeeInField("//form[#id='Foo']/table/tbody/tr[3]/td[3]/textarea", "123");
Sorry, I couldn't see in field "//form[#id='Foo']/table/tbody/tr[3]/td[3]/textarea","123":Failed asserting that two strings are equal.
Any ideas?
Thanks
If you are using WebDriver, you can just debug your page using makeScreenshot()
You can just use:
$value = $I->grabFromField('//form[#id='Foo']/table/tbody/tr[3]/td[3]/textarea');
and fill other fill with your value:
$I->fillField('#your_field_id', $value);
and than, just make a screenshot:
$I->makeScreenshot('name_of_your_screenshot');
Now check your debug folder with your image.

How can I store a dynamic text value in selenium ide and use it later in different window

I am new in selenium and trying to learning. I am creating a script and I got stuck here, I want to store a dynamic value from text message on web page ex. " Event Name:Test" this Event Name is dynamic and I want to store this and want to get in other window. In 2nd window i want to use this value(Test) to verify in the page
I tried storeValue, StoreText and storeAttribute command and getting error message for xpath or "element not found".
Please help me and advice me , what should I do?
Can You please suggest me the Xpath for storing and retrieving the event name. Please help me...
Thanks in advance,
Niru
If you are using the same test-case to navigate from page 1 to page 2 you can use the storeText function in the IDE to store the value of your event name. And then you can use the same variable in the page 2 for verification.
For example, in page 1 to store the value of event you use:
storeText(locator1, temp)
And then on page 2 you use assert:
assertText(locator2, ${temp})
