Attempt to update Xcode ends in endless wait - macos-high-sierra

I am on MacBook Pro using High Sierra (10.13.4)
My installed version of Xcode is 8.2 (8C38) and I am trying to update to 9.3.1 but I end up in endless waiting.

it turns out that
(a) Newest XCode (9.3.1) required High Sierra MacOS
(b) And even you upgrade to HighSierra, you still have the same issue
So, I did following to resolve this
I updated my OS from El Capitan to High Sierra as I found out that in order to get latest XCode v. 9.3.1, you need High Sierra - this went smothless
Once updated to High Sierra, I went to app launcher and uninstalled XCode,
Next, I went to this link https://developer.apple.com/download/more/ and downloaded XCode 9.3.1 xip file
Once downloaded, unzip it using Archiver app
Once unzipped, just drag the XCode app to Applications folder
Start it to complete installation
Maybe #Apple should talk to their QA

Had the same problem. Deleted Xcode via Application menu. Reinstalled from App Store. Worked for me.

Installing Xcode 8 on pre-installed Xcode 7.3.1 [Using multiple version]

Hi I am currently using Xcode 7.3.1 on macOS Sierra. Due to the issue ERROR ITMS 90167. I can't upload my archive using Xcode 7.3.1. So, It's time to upgrade Xcode 8.
But, unfortunately, I can't use Xcode 8 to Develop application due to migration problem on my previous project which was big. All I want is built in Application Loader from Xcode 8. And I need to do some migration on Xcode 8 while I am developing my current app from 7.3.1
And I did download Xcode 8 from Developer Program => Xcode8.xip
Before I install this version, I changed my previous Xcode 7.3.1 to
//Application/Xcode7.3.1.app
inorder to protect overwriting this version.
When I paste Xcode 8(Xcode.app) which i extract from .xip to Application Folder, I open it after its done installing after passing "Installing Component".
Then I open it,it worked (Xcode.app) = Xcode 8.
Then when I open my 7.3.1(Xcode7.3.1.app), it stop working means can't open and show me crash message every time I opened it until I changed my Xcode 8 app title to
//Application/Xcode8.app
So, there will be two Xcode Version on Application Folder. Then when I open Xcode 8(Xcode8.app), it won't let me open and show me error alert again. But, Xcode 7.3.1(Xcode7.3.1.app) come back to live and prompt me to install .git Command Line Tools then I can work back using Xcode 7.3.1.
But then, my problem is I can't open or use Xcode 8 anymore even I change my Xcode app name to different name. Was it "Command Line Tools" causing the problem?
I really need solution to solve this case because I want to use both Xcode Version on my mac.Any Help?
Download Xcode DMG files. I have Xcode 7.3.1 in my Applications folder and Xcode 8.0 in my Desktop folder. I use both Xcode very often.
If you already have two Xcode delete one, delete Xcode 8.0. Or delete both of them if you want. And you can download Xcode 8.0 from developer portal or update to macOS Sierra and download the AppStore version of Xcode 8.0. But then you can't download Xcode 7.3.1, you will not get the DMG, I don't think that you can download the DMG from developer portal for Xcode 7.3.1.
So in my opinion the best option is that. delete Xcode 8.0 from your Applications folder. And download Xcode 8.0 DMG from developer portal and put in some other folder not in Applications folder.
I have both the versions of Xcode 7.3 and 8.0. I have installed Xcode 8.0 from dmg file without changing anything in the applications folder for Xcode 7.3.1.
After installation of Xcode 8.0, I observed application folder has only one Xcode version so to open projects in different version I do something like in the image
This works just fine.

ERROR ITMS - 90167 No. app bundles found in the package on macOS Sierra

I am using Xcode 7.3.1 on macOS Sierra which I just updated yesterday.
Since I updated, I can't upload any more builds to Testflight; I always get this error message.
ERROR ITMS - 90167 No. app bundles found in the package
I see from research that this problem only happens in the macOS Sierra beta, but I worry it's going to continue through the final release
After a deep search and investigation, I finally decided that there is nothing wrong with our build. There was a problem when uploading our build with Apple iTunes Connect, which is that server denied uploading our build on Xcode 7.3.1 on macOS Sierra. But, uploading with Xcode 8 is working just fine. Just use the Application Loader from Xcode 8 if you are not ready for Migration to Xcode 8, or if some of your project's third party libraries don't support Swift 2.3.
So, how do I pass this?
Simply, just install two version on Xcode: one to continue your development. And one for uploading the submit.
Here is how : https://blogs.oracle.com/mobile/entry/how_to_install_multiple_xcodes
Create an archive from your Xcode 7.3.1 and export an .ipa with with your production profile. Then upload that .ipa via the Xcode 8 Application Loader. This is inside the Xcode app bundle: Xcode.app/Contents/Applications/Application Loader.app
You can also get to it inside of Xcode:
Xcode menu > Open Developer Tools > Application Loader
This is the only solution until Apple fixes it, believe me.

Xcode 7 update completes but Xcode 6.4 remains
I've had issues like this before and found that deleting old Xcode and installing the new new one downloaded from Apple works better than using the Mac App store.
Once logged into developer.apple.com you should be able to get the 7.1 dmg from https://developer.apple.com/downloads/ download that (http://adcdownload.apple.com/Developer_Tools/Xcode_7.1/Xcode_7.1.dmg) and install from there.

unable to connect ios 9.1 device to xcode 7.1

I am trying to run application in a device with iOS 9.1 from xcode 7.1. xcode is keep crashing. I am unable to install the application in any ios 9.1 devices. I have tried 3 different devices and getting the same problem. My code is in objective-c.
I have uninstalled the xcode and then installed xcode 7.2 again. It solved my issue.
I think you should do something for fix it, maybe it's just some stupid errors from xcode.
Try to clean then build again.
Add a devices for development then test again.
Report to Apple.
Check your iOS Target Deployment first.
Also try following steps
Also try reinstalling Xcode 7 and while installing close Xcode.
Check in Xcode Preferences whether Simulator for iOS9 is installed or not.
also check whether your itunes open when plugin device.

Compatibility of Xcode 5 with Xcode 6

Apple has now announced Xcode 6 (and iOS 8). I currently have Mavericks on my Mac (and am not planning to upgrade to Yosemite yet), and am wondering if I can download the Xcode 6 dev preview, while still maintaining my current version of Xcode 5. This is so that I can use the new Xcode 6 features, while still being able to work on, and upload, my current applications. Is that possible?
Also, if I update my phone to iOS 8 Beta, will I be able to run apps from Xcode 5, or only Xcode 6?
Answers would be hugely appreciated! Thanks :)
Even I use Mavericks, I installed Xcode 6. In order to be sure about my maintenance projects, I've also downloaded Xcode5.1.1 from Apple developer portal, copied it into my Desktop, renamed it as XCode 5.1.1 and then moved it to my applications folder.
I have both versions at the moment without any issues and can also select the version of Xcode while opening an existing Xcode project by using open with menu feature.
I hope this helps...
Xcode 6 Beta Release Notes
Xcode 6 Beta requires a Mac running OS X version 10.9.3 (or later) or 10.10.
I think its possible that you can do all things you was able to do with Xcode 5 but I will tell you when my xcode 6 download is finished.
You may install XCode 6 Beta on OS X 10.9.3, and I think that you'll need XCode 6 in order to run iOS8 apps.
One thing that you didn't ask, but that you should keep in mind (as you mentioned your phone):
Devices updated to iOS 8 beta can not be restored to earlier versions
of iOS.
i've installed Xcode6 in Mavericks and iOS simulator crash with message : Unable to boot the iOS Simulator. :-(
You can download the preview of Xcode 6 and use your existing installed Xcode 5 side by side without affecting anything you're doing. Just make sure if you click on a project file that you open it in the correct version of Xcode.
Download xcode dmg file from Apple's developer site. Install it in a different location other than the Applications folder. There you go !!
