When I execute it I get an error
ERROR ql.Driver: FAILED: ParseException line 8:1 cannot recognize input near 'SELECT' 'COUNT' '(' in expression specification
I am trying to fetch each count of impression for a specified conversion_action_id. What could be the error in my query? Thanks for the help.

The problem is quite clear, you have a subquery inside your SELECT.
That is not how this works.
Unfortunately the exact solution is not that clear, as it I am not completely sure what you want, but here is some general advice:
Write your subquery, test it and make sure it is ok
Rather than putting it in your SELECT part, put it in your FROM part, and (as always) SELECt from the FROM
Just think of your subquery output as an other table that can be used in the from statement, and which needs to be combined (JOIN, UNION?) with other tables in the from statement.

Problem I have I believe lies in that both table ALUMNOS and UNIDADES have a column named 'NOMBRE' so if I attempt to execute the query I obtain:
00000 - "column ambiguously defined"
To avoid that I thought about changing NOMBRE AS NOMBREUNIDAD to:
UNIDADES.NOMBRE AS NOMBREUNIDAD
But if I do that I get a:
00000 - "not a GROUP BY expression"
So, I don't know what to do so that subquery executes properly.
What should I change to properly execute query without changing the column name?
Aliases are pretty useful, if you use them. The simplify queries and make them easier to read and maintain. I'd suggest you to do so, as it'll also help query to work because Oracle doesn't know which table you actually meant when you selected those 4 columns - which tables do they belong to?
This is just a guess as I don't know your tables so you'll have to fix it yourself. Also, I literally JOINed tables; try to avoid comma-separating them in FROM clause and doing join in WHERE clause as it is supposed to filter data.
GROUP BY, as already commented, is probably useless. If you wanted to fetch distinct set of values, then use appropriate keyword: distinct.

I am running a very simple query in Metabase, however, I am getting an error.
Following is the code I am running:

I have been trying multiple ways to get this fixed, but couldn't get this to work. I would appreciate your help with this query. I don't see a problem with the query tho. What am I missing?

I think you just want:
SELECT user_id
FROM order_order
where

then use an advanced date query to do the between part?
All from memory so hope I'm not way off.
The statement inside the [[ ]] in your query is only used when from or to variables have a selected value. That means that when both from and to are not set (no value selected) your query will be the following:
SELECT user_id
FROM order_order
and {{partner_id}}
hence the error.
In order to resolve it you should set the where clause to always true and then have the conditional statements that you want. Here is an example:
SELECT user_id
FROM order_order
where true
[[and date_placed between {{from}} and {{to}}]]

U-SQL is case-sensitive (as per here) with all SQL reserved words in UPPER CASE. So you should capitalise the FROM and ON keywords in your statement, like this:

This same crazy sounding error message can occur for (almost?) any USQL syntax error. The answer above was clearly correct for the provided code.
However since many folks will probably get to this page from a search for 'AS EXCEPT FROM GROUP HAVING INTERSECT OPTION ORDER OUTER UNION UNION WHERE', I'd say the best advice to handle these is look closely at the snippet of your code that the error message has marked with '###'.
For example I got to this page upon getting a syntax error for a long query and it turned out I didn't have a casing issue, but just a malformed query with parens around the wrong thing. Once I looked more closely at where in the snippet the ### symbol was, the error became clear.
I am getting an error in PCC which doesn't make a lot of sense. I have two statements inside a user defined function that are nearly exactly the same and one runs fine while the other is returning an error:
'INTO': Syntax error
end and start are parameters being passed to the function.
The Error is being thrown on the second INTO statement

First of all, I know there are already questions and answers about it, this thread being the one that is closest to what I need:

However, I get a syntax error (operator missing) that seems to occur close to the FROM clause. However I can't see it. Does it not like the FROM itself ? I am not used to using FROM in an update statement but it seems like it's valid from the QA I just linked :|
Any idea why there would be a syntax error there ?

The WHERE 1=0 part is because I want to test further the subquery before running it.
Edit: This is some simpler query I am trying. I get a different error this time. It now tells me that tempsmoy_requete_min (and probably all other left operands) are not part of an aggregate function... which is the point of my query. Any idea ?

I tried adapting your first query sample, and was able to make your error go away. However then I encountered a different error ('Operation must use an updateable query').
It may be possible to overcome that error, too. However, I found it easier to use a domain function instead of a join to retrieve the replacement value.

If this suggestion works for tempsmoy_requete_min with your data, you will have to extend it to the other fields you want to replace. That won't be pretty. You could make it less ugly with a saved query which you then use as the "Domain" parameter for DSum() ... that could allow you to use a simpler "Criteria" parameter.
