Unable to Connect to Server in Microsoft SSMS 2017 - ssms

Unable to Connect to Server in Microsoft SSMS
Getting the below error! Please refer to the attachment for more details.
Error Details: TITLE: Connect to Server
Cannot connect to root.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 53)
For help, click: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?ProdName=Microsoft%20SQL%20Server&EvtSrc=MSSQLServer&EvtID=53&LinkId=20476
The network path was not found

First of all, your server name regularly is localhost instead of root. Second, from SSMS 16 up, you need additional installation of localhost server. You can read the reference here.

After numerous attempts I tried many versions, I was able to fix this issue by installing the SQL Server 17. I was successfully able to create a server and connect to SQL Server.

Cannot connect to ANY remote SQL Servers from my system

I cannot connect to any remote SQL Server instances from my system. I used to connect them from SQL Server Management Studio. Moreover, I can still connect to the same SQL Servers remotely from another systems (my colleagues' system).
I am getting following error:
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)
Error Number: 53
Severity: 20
State: 0
I have checked:
Named pipes/TCP is enabled.
Remote connections are allowed.
Windows Firewall is off.
Enabled everything in SQL Server Configuration Manager.
Also, I have tried everything mentioned in this post-
How do I fix the error 'Named Pipes Provider, error 40 - Could not open a connection to' SQL Server'?
But still could not solve my problem. Please suggest any method which allows me to fix this error and connect to the remote servers again.
instead of check whether that server system is working or not, because sometimes if the server system is not working means we are unable to connect to that system

SQL Server 2016 Developer version can not connect to (LocalDB)\MSSQLLocalDB

I have reinstalled my SQL Server 2016 as for an unknown reason which lead to the SQL Server down...But, when I finished the installation, I found I can not connect to (LocalDB)\MSSQLLocalDB any more. I got this error message from SQL Server.
Cannot connect to (LocalDB)\MSSQLLocalDB.
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 52 - Unable to locate a Local Database Runtime installation. Verify that SQL Server Express is properly installed and that the Local Database Runtime feature is enabled.) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 2)
Anyone who have any ideas of how to solve this problem? I do need to speed up for my development, but the DB issue stops me to do anything.
LocalDB is a special version of SQL Server Express - if you haven't installed it, you cannot use that server/instance name to connect to it.
You can easily install SQL Server Express LocalDB separately, side-by-side with SQL Server Developer edition - but you need to install it explicitly.

I just installed of SQL Server Management Studio Express 2012, and then I try to connect database engine with servername : ./sqlexpress, but it failed.

TITLE: Connect to Database Engine

Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. The system cannot find the path specified.
Whats going wrong?
I've seen this in the past, most likely the wrong instance name or address. Since it is a local DB instance on your machine you will want to try connecting to (local)\SQLEXPRESS [This is the default SQL Express Instance]
If you are running a local instance of SQL Server you can just use localhost as the server name. Also you can try to remove the ./ before the server name.
If anyone else gets a failed to connect to server instance while trying to connect to a DB in C#, make sure you add localhost to the front of your database server address if you're on the same machine.
ie: myDatabase2012
should be put in as localhost\\myDatabase2012 (the second \ is needed to escape the first)

Can't connect remotely to database on SQL Server 2005

I am new to managing servers but I have just been given full access to set up an MS SQL Database on win server 2003. I have created a Database successfully and can connect locally (via remote desktop server)
Problem is I can't connect to the database from my personal computer (remotely, via ms sql server management studio). I have followed several tutorials such as: http://blog.sqlauthority.com/2009/05/21/sql-server-fix-error-provider-named-pipes-provider-error-40-could-not-open-a-connection-to-sql-server-microsoft-sql-server-error/
The error I am receiving is:
Cannot connect to 'servername'
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
A network-related or instance-specific
error occurred while establishing a
connection to SQL Server. The server
was not found or was not accessible.
Verify that the instance name is
correct and that SQL Server is
configured to allow remote
connections. (provider: Named Pipes
Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a
connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft
SQL Server, Error: 53)
Any help will be great, thanks!
"SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections"
You need to enable remote tcp/ip connections in sql surface area configuration. It's new in 2005 and then dropped in 2008.
If that doesn't work, you either have a network issue are are perhaps giving the wrong name - maybe you installed a named instance?
