I have a template with a set number of columns (170) and title headers (row 1 cell name's). This is always the same, until users add columns in between (they're instructed not to change headers). The idea is to make it tamperproof as far as the adding of columns is involved.
I'd like to make variables to hold some of the headers (with the capacity to hold all) and check these with the template to find out the column number (in a loop I reckon). It's probably wisest to make a function to call upon it?

Update: The template has set column headers. When users interact with it a result could be that columns shift position, or they add more. I have a workbook that needs to load data out of the user's altered template.
I.E. The template has columns 1, 2, 3, 4 and the names are column1, column 2 etc. A user ads a random column so now there are 5. The loop needs to loop through the names of the column headers and identify the column number of the original template columns 1, 2 etc based on a string variable with the original names, which I've hard coded beforehand. These are public constants.
What function LookForHeaders do: input a string, then search for the string in usersheet.range(1:1). If it is found, return the column number of that cell, otherwise it returns 0.

Despite a Collection being mentioned and being a possible solution, it is far more efficient to use a Dictionary as it has an Exists method. Then it's just a matter of adding the names to the dictionary if they don't already exist, and then extracting the keys to an array when you're done.
Note that I've made the name comparisons case-sensitive, but you can change that if necessary, to case-insensitive.

Is this a VBA question or a question about programming logic? Use a loop on the column with the data. Check each name against the list of existing data items. If it exists in the list, move on the the next name. If it does not exist in the list, add it.
The "list" is a concept, not a concrete tool. It can be a VBA dictionary, if you are comfortable using that. Or it can be a VBA array, which may not perform as fast as a dictionary, but may be more familiar.
Then again, if you add the data to the Excel Data Model, you can use the Distinct aggregation of a pivot table to list out the unique values.
Without more background it's hard to tell if VBA or Data Model is your best approach. Many VBA solutions get created because people are not aware of Excel's capabilities.
You could use Excel functionality like that.

Context:
I have several lists in my sheet (1 column wide, 1-10 rows long). When I right click a cell in these lists, I can do several options, that all work well. I have given a name to the cell at the top of each of these lists (ex. Cell A1 has been given the name cell_1, B10 is names cell_2, etc).
I would like to know if the cell I am right clicking on is the one at the top of the list; is it named "cell_(number)"? If it is not, it checks the cell on top of that one. Does it have a name that starts with "cell_"? If not, check the one on top, etc. Until I can figure out the user clicked on an element of WHICH list.
TL;DR The actual question
I can use ActiveCell.Address, which gives me something like "A1" whether or not I have assigned a name to that cell. ActiveCell.Name gives "Sheet1!A1", so it's not much better. Any idea how to get it to return the name I have assigned instead?
Create a UDF to test the application names, it's less efficient but contains error handling within the function itself:

I have the need to execute some VBA code when a sheet changes. For this I have an If-then-else situation.
In any particular row (I have a variable number of rows (i.e. line items)):

If you are using Excel 2007+, I recommend using ListObject, ListColumns and ListRows (study the object model).
Philosophy behind my approach:
Forms, Data and Reports should always be separated, so...
Gather all your data into a Table, in a dedicated sheet. Select your data and Ctrl+(T or L). Make sure every sheet has only 1 table of data.
Using Tables, you'll be able to make use of the ListObject, ListColumns and ListRows objects.

Using
strTemp = rCurrRow.Columns(1, 2)
instead of
strTemp = rCurrRow.Columns(2)
Causes runtime error 1004
Since each iteration points to a range object in the For loop; I was thinking using
rCurrRow.Columns(2)
will point to current Row's column#2 and hence print out only the column's value.
Is my logic misplaced?

You can call your variable rCurrRow all you want; VBA still won't know that you mean for it to contain an entire row of range rAllRows. It just assumes that rCurrRow represents one cell, such that For Each rCurrRow In rAllRows means "for each individual cell in this range".
What you need to do is limit the range being looped through. This should work; not tested.

In fact I wouldn't call that variable rCurrRow at all; if you're going to use it in this way, call it e.g. cell instead.

Both methods and properties can take parameters. The distinction is more or less as follows:
Properties are things that you can get (like a range's Address, which takes no parameter, or subrange such as Column or Row or Cells, which do) and/or set (like a range's .Interior.Color, or .Hidden status). They are usually nouns.
Methods are things that do something to/with the range, and as such are usually verbs. Like .Select (takes no parameters) or .Copy (takes one parameter) or even .Speak.
I have for example a column of 18000 domains and another list with 210.000 domain which those 18000 domains can be found. I need to do smth like CTRL + H, for find and replace, and in the find field I need to add the entire 18000 domains: smth like * domain1.com *, * domain2.com *, * domain3.com * and replace them with blank space. Tried this with find and replace from excel but it doesn't work to add more than 1 value in the Find field. How can i do it for multiple values?
VBA solution
You will need to change the two sheet references (data and edit sheet) data = source, edit = destination. I've also set the replace string to a variable so you can change this from an empty string if required.
If you need any other logic (ie Trim the strings before compare or a change to the strings case comparison) the code should be reasonably easy to tweak.

You can use wildcards with find/replace. So in your situation you should be able to use something like
domain* in the find what Field and nothing in the Replace field
