I'm building a MVC based CMS.
I'm trying to route all the urls as followed:
site.com/admin/... > admin.php?url=...
site.com/member/... > member.php?url=...
site.com/... > index.php?url=...
The first two are no problem
Options -MultiViews

RewriteBase /cms/public_html/
RewriteCond %{REQuEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^admin/(.*)$ admin.php?url=$1 [QSA,L]
RewriteRule ^member/(.*)$ member.php?url=$1 [QSA,L]
But when I want to add the third, that's where I get stuck. I've tried
RewriteRule (.+)$ index.php?url=$1 [QSA,L]
This however 'disables' the first two rules.
Then I tried:
RewriteRule !^admin(.+)$ index.php?url=$1 [QSA,L]
This works for the admin part, also the index is shown, however isn't the rest of the URL parsed in the ?url.
How can I get this to work?
I should also be able to add more site parts (such as site.com/gallery/).

How about another RewriteCond?
Note that you need to list the set of RewriteCond for each RewriteRule as they only apply once.

How to create clean url using .htaccess for multiple parameters?

I try to make clean URLS to my web site.
The desired format is: site/category/num example site/sport/3
Both category and page are optional parameters. So i have three rules. The problem is rule three. It only work in first time.
User enter site - tule 1. OK.
User navigate and pick category. Rule 2... OK.
User navigate and want page 2 page. (rule 3) OK.
User want see more items in page 3 (rule 3) Error..
I got parameter site/category/category/3 and navigatioin fail. Now i dont get why do i get category two times.

RewriteRule to redirect whole domain to get parameter

I want to redirect a whole url to a query parameter with a RewriteRule in .htaccess
for example: http://server.com/http://google.com should be redirected to
http://server.com/index.php?url=http://google.com
so far i'm just able to make this work: http://server.com/google.com but when a : or / is contained, it doesn't work..

RewriteRule patter strips multiple / into one, better use RewriteCond here:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-l

Why not just do the TLD and then add the http:// in the rule. This is how I would do it.
This is the way I would use it so it doesn't "look" invalid. http://server.com/google.com

.htaccess rewrite rules issue

I am trying to rewrite some urls using mod_rewrite.
I want to rewrite
localhost/exotica/pet/somePet/
to
`localhost/exotica/index.php/types/get/somePet/`
I have managed to remove index.php by using
RewriteCond $1 !^(index\.php|resources|uploads|robots\.txt)
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /exotica/index.php/$1 [L]
so now localhost/exotica/types/get/somePet works
i have tried adding as first rule
RewriteRule ^pet/([A-Za-z0-9-]+)/?$ type/get/$1 [N]
but it simply doesnt work so please help me i have no idea how to enable it
I managed to solve it by adding a route $route['pet/(:any)'] = "type/get/$1";, but I would prefer to do it using .htacess file

I have some issues:
lib and applications are folders, but RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d has no effect, I have to write condition for lib and application separately.
The main issue is my api calls are not giving me result. I am calling my api as www.myweb.com/api/User/xyz%40gmail.com which is redirecting to www.myweb.com/api/index.php/api/User/xyz%40gmail.com, which is right. But calls to this are blank.

A RewriteCond only gets applied to the immediately following RewriteRule. Conditions aren't set globally nor get applied to more than one rule. You'll either need to repeat the condition for each rule:

This way, the opposite of your conditions get applied to a rule that simply says "do nothing, and no more rewriting". In order for any of the bottom 5 rules to get applied, the conditions at the top would not have been met.

Rewrite rule to handle url exception

I have an app that serves many sites and I am using Apache mod-rewrite to map the
url's like this
http://site1.net/controller
http://site2.net/controller2/another_view
http://site3.net/
http://special_case.net/
maps to:
index.php?url=http://site1.net/controller
index.php?url=http://site2.net/controller2/another_view
index.php?url=http://site3.net/
index.php?url=http://special_case.net/hub
My rewrite rules are:

Which handles all the cases except the special last case, where I need to force
the use of a controller called "hub" when handling a specific domain. I collaborate with others on this project which means I can't do anything about the routing once the index file is called.
Can someone fix my rules so that all the above cases resolve?

You current rules don't seem to add the hostname to the url get-parameter. So I added that to to the following:
