IntelliJ "Looking for Usages" freezes when refactoring/renaming enum entry - intellij-idea

I am using IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition 16 Preview (version IC-144.4199.23). I need to rename a couple Enum entries using IDEA's Refactoring system.
For instance, I currently have an enum entry named black, and I need to rename it and its usages to BLACK, which I do by Right-clicking the entry, selecting Refactor -> Rename..., and entering BLACK.
The problem is that IDEA prompts me with the Looking for Usages progress dialog, freezes the dialog, and never actually refactors the entry name.
This issue is pretty odd, because when I use Find Usages on the entry directly, it perfectly says that there is "No usages found in Project Files" (which is normal). However, the aforementioned dialog freezes at a roughly 99% progress bar in searching for occurrences, and does not proceed in renaming the entry.
Edit: Issue also applies to IntelliJ IDEA 15.0.2, apparently.

When you click the type of refactoring, make sure that in the 'Choose scope where change signature may occur:' you DO NOT choose "All Files", but rather something else - such as "Project Files". Otherwise, it's going to take forever!

New Find Usage pop-up in IntelliJ IDEA places code fragments at the end (not visible)

Since some time IDEA has new Find Usages pop-up, which is completely unusable to me because code fragments is not visible:
Before it looked like this:
This affects at least version 2021.2.1. I've tried searching settings but couldn't find anything related to visual view of Find Usages pop-up. Is it possible to reconfigure it to be like it was before (code first)?
Please try 2021.2.2 version - it has improvements for this popup:

IntelliJ IDEA 13.1.2 javadoc and tabs

I hate to ask such simple questions, but nothing I found so far helped me...
So, I've recently started using IntelliJ instead of Eclipse and there are 2 things that really bothers me...
1.) size of javadoc popup window - ok, so I finally get this little guy to pop-up whenever I need it, but it's so small I have to use scroll every single time... and that's pretty anoying when I'm working with unknown libraries...
2.) tabs == spaces - maybe some of you like this, but I don't... Eclipse was treating tabs as tabs and not spaces... I tried to change settings but with no result... or is that maybe connected with project I'm working on? (meaning, if, at the start of a project, setting were such that tabs == spaces and now changes are not applied to it)
Sorry for stupid question but, as I said, nothing I found so far helped me...
1) Just resize the window with your mouse. It will retain the size the next time it opens. You can also click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and adjust the font size. Again, it will retain the size on subsequent use.
2) I'm assuming you make the change to the "Use Tab Character" option on the "Tabs and Indents" tab for all file types and saved the Code Style. After that, you need to run the Reformat Code action (Ctrl+Alt+L or Code > Reformat Code from the menu or Reformat Code from the context menu (i.e. right-click) in The Project Tool window or Navigation Bar). IDEA retains the previous formatting (so spaces in this case) until you run a reformat on the project (or a part of it).
If you have multiple projects already created, for each one, you will need to go into File > Settings > [Project Settings] > Code Style and set the Scheme (and then do a reformat). While the Scheme definition is saved IDE wide, the scheme to use is set per project (which makes sense since an Apache Open Source project you are working on may have different code style requirements than the projects you do at work vs the ones you do for fun).
Finally, you will also want to go into File > Other Settings > Default Settings > [Template Project Settings] > Code Style and make sure your saved code style scheme (with the use tab option) is set so that new projects use that scheme when they are created.

How to see live list of syntax errors in WebStorm 7 (or IntelliJ)?

While editing a JavaScript file, the IDE shows highlights on the lines that have problems and displays the lightbulb when you're on one of those lines.
How can I see a live list of all problems found in the current file (e.g. syntax errors)?
The only way I found so far was to manually run inspection and check the inspection window. That's quite cumbersome. Even the "Problems" section of the Project window updates itself automatically as soon as I change the code (even without saving) - but it doesn't display the actual errors (only which files have errors).
Apparently the IDE knows what errors exist in the file - I just can't find a way to see all of them in a list.
In every other IDE I know, it is a built-in, enabled-by-default, feature: eclipse, visual studio, brackets, etc.
Apparently this is an open issue on the IntelliJ family of products. Please upvote that issue if you feel it is missing as well!

VB2010 Unable to open two applications derived from same code at the same time

This may be a simple question, but I'm not even sure of the search terms to find the answer.
I have two winforms applications which have been derived from the same code. One supersedes the other, but occasionally we have to us the older VB app for legacy information.
The problem is, if one app is already open, when the icon of the other app is clicked, nothing happens. The currently open app's window becomes selected like it has just been opened. Nothing else.
What I would like to happen is that both apps can open at the same time. They reference different DB's so there's not clash there.
I thought it might be something to do with the name spaces, so I changed those, but to no avail.
Any thoughts, I'm sure its a simple answer.

Look at Project Settings (Double Click on "My Project" in the Project Explorer).
In the Application-Tab you'll find the setting "Create Single Instance Application"
(I'm translating from German Version, may be slighlty different).
Better Alternative:
Basicly it is useful to keep this setting as it is and go for the alternative:
In that same spot, you find a button "Assembly Information". Click on that and change the first number of the "Assembly Version". Now the older and newer versions are two different programs for Windows and will run parallel.
Go to, 'project properties', Tab 'Application', section 'Windows application framework properties'. There is a checkbox called 'Make single instance application'. Maybe that's on...
I had the same problem with two applications. They had different assembly versions and I wanted to avoid unchecking "Make single instance application", so I kept looking until I found that they had the same GUID. Just changed one of them and problem solved. You can change the GUID in the Assembly Information dialog. Hope it helps.

Rename using suggested var name with resharper

I'm Using resharper 6 nighty builds and VB.net. I've a big medium project with multiple files that don't follow the code style conventions of my company.
I've configured resharper with my own convenctions and It suggest to me the right name for each variable (perfect!).
But I can't find any automagic way to make the current name to be replaced with the suggested name.
Are there any way to do it? If not ... did you know ane fearure of coderush Xpress to achieve it?
Thanks.
If you've configured ReSharper with your naming conventions, then it should show a warning (blue squiggly underline) under any identifiers that don't comply. If you put the text cursor on one of those misnamed identifiers, you should see a pyramid icon appear near the left margin. Then you can press Alt+Enter (or click the pyramid icon) to drop down a quick-fix menu. There should be an option in the menu to "Rename to '_myField'". Usually it's the first item in the list, so you can just press Enter again to do the rename.
If you want to do this on everything in a source file, you can use the ReSharper > Inspect > Next Issue in File command (or its keyboard shortcut -- F12 in the IDEA keymap) to move the cursor to the next warning in the file. Then, if it's another name warning, you can use Alt+Enter, Enter again to fix it.
Unfortunately, there isn't a way to automatically fix every instance of a warning at once (though it's been requested; please feel free to vote for RSRP-126551 in their issue tracker).
