I am using Myo so my inputs are not the same as keypress and mouse.
I am trying to access items in the scroll UI Panel. Here is a snapshot of my Unity3D hierarchy.
http://imgur.com/f0cIJWl
As you can see, I have
-StoreMenu
-ScrollPanel
-ScrollRect
-ShopItems (list of items)
How can I possibly scroll and highlight the list of item. And on certain input gesture, get it selected ?
I'ved only managed this far:
scrollpanel = GameObject.Find("ScrollPanel");
scrollRect = scrollpanel.GetComponent<ScrollRect>();
scrollRect.GetComponent<ScrollRect>();
scrollRect.verticalNormalizedPosition = 0.5f;
I can get the scrollrect, move to certain position in the scroll but items are not highlighted.
Thanks in advance.
TRY THIS : http://docs.unity3d.com/462/Documentation/ScriptReference/EventSystems.EventSystem.SetSelectedGameObject.html
This can be used to Set the object as selected

I have an object inside a scrollable panel, and I want to get the position of the object. Everything is okay until I have create many object inside the panel until the panel needed to be scrolled. Then I notice that the X Position of the object changed after scrolling the panel. Take a look at example image below
X Position inside a scrollable panel
I'm using Position.X to get a X Position of the object, but as you can see in the picture above. It does me no good.
Is there a way to get the actual position even if the panel is scrolled ?
UPDATE:
I have One Panel that have Auto Scroll as True , and on Button inside a Panel, let's just say the button name is Button1 and the Panel is Panel1
The Code i use to get the location of the Button1 is :
Dim msg = Button1.Location.X
msgbox(msg)
You're getting the screen position of the object, I don't know how because you didn't post your code. What you need to do is add the scroll offset, eg.
Position.X + scrollableControl.AutoScrollPosition.X
Is there any way to not show this slider(as in screenshot below) on click of few polygons but to show on click of few other polygons?
To simplify what I mean to say, suppose This slider should be shown on click of blue polygon but should not be shown when red polygon is clicked, but I want to keep the ids for both polygons.
There's an undocumented property [_enableInfoOrSelection][1] (note - this is a private property and is unsafe for production - use with care).
The code is:
var handler = new Cesium.ScreenSpaceEventHandler(viewer.scene.canvas);
var shouldShow = true;
handler.setInputAction(function(click) {
viewer._enableInfoOrSelection = shouldShow;
shouldShow = !shouldShow;
}, Cesium.ScreenSpaceEventType.LEFT_CLICK);
Note the line that controls weather to show or not to show the info box:
viewer._enableInfoOrSelection = shouldShow;
You'd might want to do something smarter (like to remove the info box in case a new entity was clicked etc., but it's up to you :)).

I try to implement a custom ContextMenu in a LongListSelector.
I'm not using the ContextMenu from Microsoft.Phone.Controls.Toolkit, it's basically the same as in the Rowi App:
(source: hiddenpineapple.com)
Approach 1
My list item toggles a VisualState on hold and an overlay is shown with controls in it.
The problem
I can't find a way to go back to the default state when the user clicks outside of the list item (as in the default ContextMenu).
Approach 2
I've implemented a custom template for the toolkit ContextMenu which looks exactly the same. I had to move its margin top to -itemHeight, as by default it is below the item.
The problem
The problem with this solution is, that it automatically closes itself when opening and I couldn't figure out how to avoid this.
Another problem was that it didn't work well with TiltEffect.IsTiltEnabled from the Toolkit (visual problems).
I need your help
Any suggestions on how to get this working?
Answer
Thanks to Cheese, now I know how to properly close the menu when the user clicks outside.
His suggestion was to get the coordinates of a Tap event on the current page, and check if it's inside the menu. When not, close the menu.
So I added a Tap listener to the page when the menu opens, and removed it when the menu closes. From the page listener I got the event coordinates and could check if it's inside the control which holds the menu (same size and position). I received the position of the control with Point leftUpperPoint = control.TransformToVisual(page).Transform(new Point(0, 0)) and the rightLowerPoint by adding the ActualWidth and ActualHeight.
But then I realized:
Why should I even calculate if the tap is inside the menu? I always want to close the menu when the user taps anywhere on the screen. If it's outside, yes. If it's on a menu button, yes.
Another modification I made was to listen for MouseLeftButtonDown instead of Tap as it also triggers when the user swipes.
So I removed this code and came up with the following:
private void ToggleMenu(object sender, System.Windows.Input.GestureEventArgs e)
{
PhoneApplicationFrame frame = ((PhoneApplicationFrame)Application.Current.RootVisual);
VisualState state = this.States.CurrentState;
if (state == null || state.Name == "DefaultState")
{
frame.MouseLeftButtonDown += MouseDownDelegate;
this.State = "MenuState";
}
else
{
frame.MouseLeftButtonDown -= MouseDownDelegate;
this.State = "DefaultState";
}
}
private void MouseDownDelegate(object sender, System.Windows.Input.MouseButtonEventArgs e)
{
ToggleMenu(sender, null);
}
This works perfectly!
Thanks to Cheese for the hint.
Something like this by #denniscode http://dotnet.dzone.com/articles/rowi-show-tap-menu
Approach 1 problem
The best solution would be:
Get the menus coordinates, when user makes a tap - you check are tap coordinates on menu or not, if not - dissmiss - simple.
Approach 2 problem
I guess you had some button in a corner and when you tapped on it - nothing happened? And when you dissmissed the Tilt all worked. It seems that tilt works faster than a click, so, tilt changes the button coordinates, and device thiks you have missed/or dragged off
You can use what #ScottIsAFool suggested and maybe create another Dependency Property on your TapMenu control of type UIElement named CloseWhenTappedElement and automatically listen for Tap events inside your control once set. For example
<Grid x:Name="TapArea"/>
<TapMenu CloseWhenTappedElement="{Binding ElementName=TapArea"}/>
I need to show a virtual keyboard when the user selects an input text field in a webpage. This code runs on an set top box.
I am extending the QWebView, which is creating a new keyboard widget as a child.
WebView::WebView(QWidget* parent = 0): QWebView(parent)
{
WebPage *page = new WebPage(this);
this->m_keyboard = new widgetKeyBoard(this, Qt::Window|Qt::CustomizeWindowHint);
this->m_keyboard->createKeyboard();
this->m_keyboard->hide();
connect(this, SIGNAL(launchVirtualKB(WebView *) ), SLOT(launchKeyboard(WebView *)));
}
The widgetKeyBoard is made up of QGridLayout with many children QKeyPushButton.
When I do a show of keyboard, I see the whole keyboard drawn briefly and then overwritten 30% of the keyboard from the below web page (overwritten near the input field). I tried to have my own repaint for webview and mainwindow, but still see that someone else is overwriting.
What could be causing such an issue. I am using QT4.8.
I have a grid in which one column is having itemrenderer as textarea. My application is menu controled. Now I want to perform edit operations on the textarea using menu items.
Like if I select some text from a textarea in the grid, then I select a menu item "Cut" then it should cut the selected text from the textarea. In this manner I would lie to perform all operations.
I am not getting how to get that the operation is to be performed on which textarea?
inside your menu item click handler, try:
var fcs:IFocusManagerComponent = focusManager.getFocus();
if(fcs is TextArea)
{
var txt:String = TextArea(fcs).text;
System.setClipboard(txt);
}
