I have REST webservice call via Jmeter. After placing the request, I am getting the response back with response headers.
To view the response headers value I am using View Results Tree listener.
I am able to see the needed parameter under the SamplerResult tab of View Results Tree.
That parameter is an integer value.
My question is : how to take the average value of that parameter from the View Results Tree section for all the requests(5000 requests) that I have submitted
To do what you want:
Declare a User Defined Variable (nbIterations)
Use a Regular Expression Extractor (check Headers, call it time)
Use a JSR223 Sampler (add Groovy to jmeter/lib/ext/) which will do something like this:
Long time = (Long) vars.get("time");
Long sum = (Long) vars.get("sum");
if(sum == null) {
sum = new Long(0);
}
sum = new Long(sum.longValue()+time.longValue);
vars.put("sum", sum);
Finally you have it through {__BeanShell(${sum}/${nbIterations})}

Im having the requirement like i need to loop through all the values that are capturing from regex with match No -1
ThreadGroup
---Req1
---Req2
---RegEx: with Match No. -1 (Debug Sampler shows match count : **18** )
---JSR223 Sampler ( Setting the counter value to 1 --**vars.put("counter1","1");**)
---While Controller ( **${__javaScript(parseInt(vars.get("counter1"))<=(${Task_matchNr}),)}** )
----Http req inside While controller
----JSR223 Sampler(Increasing the counter value by 1 everytime till Task_matchNr --**counter = counter+1; vars.put("counter1",Integer.toString(counter));**
Everytime it will execute till 11th value correctly and again it start executing from 1st value without exiting the loop
Could someone please help.
You don't need the counter as While Controller exposes current iteration via ${__jm__While Controller__idx} (since JMeter 5.0)
You're comparing integer to a string, you should do something like parseInt("${Task_matchNr}") `
It's better to use more performing function than JavaScript, for example __jexl3(), the relevant syntax would be something like:
${__jexl3("${Task_matchNr}" != "${__jm__While Controller__idx}",)}
Wouldn't be easier to use ForEach Controller instead?
I want to create circuit (messenger like skype) conversation from my server side code (C#) by calling circuit api.
Function : https://circuitsandbox.net/rest/v2/conversations/
I have to pass two type of parameters :
1) Participants - string array
2) topic - string
According to function definition (in swagger), I have to pass them as formdata. But, when I am trying to encode the parameters
var content = new FormUrlEncodedContent(values);
It is not accepting the array string for participants list. It is expecting "key/value" pair as "string/string".
I have even tried to create the JSON serialization also
JsonConvert.SerializeObject(values)
But the API definition is not accepting this converted values as it is expecting formdata in string/string as key/value.
I had even tried to concatenate the participants list with ";" as delimiter. But in that case, I am getting 400 error.
I tried to convert my parameters like this also
var formData = new List>();
formData.Add(new KeyValuePair("participants", JsonConvert.SerializeObject( participants)));
formData.Add(new KeyValuePair("topic", "Testing1"));
But again, I a getting 400 error.
Here is my API call
var response = client.PostAsync("https://circuitsandbox.net/rest/v2/conversations/group", content);
Can someone provide me some code snippet to pass that this data to API?
Let me emphasis, I am trying from server side code (C#) and not jquery code.
as we checked together earlier today, make the participants value a comma separated string of emails and it should work
I need to pass multiple query parameters with the same name in a URL, but I am having problems getting it to work with Karate. In my case, the URL should look like this:
http://mytestapi.com/v1/orders?sort=order.orderNumber&sort=order.customer.name,DESC
Notice 2 query parameters named "sort". I attempted to create these query string parameters with Karate, but only the last "sort" parameter gets created in the query string. Here are the ways I tried to do this:
Given path 'v1/orders'
And param sort = 'order.orderNumber'
And param sort = 'order.customer.name,DESC'
And header Authorization = authInfo.token
And method get
Then status 200
And:
Given path 'v1/orders'
And params sort = { sort: 'order.orderNumber', sort: 'order.customer.name,DESC' }
And header Authorization = authInfo.token
And method get
Then status 200
And:
Given path 'v1/order?sort=order.orderNumber&sort=order.customer.name,DESC'
And header Authorization = authInfo.token
And method get
Then status 200
The first two ways provide the same query string result: ?sort=order.customer.name%2CDESC
The last example does not work because the ? get encoded, which was expected and explained in this post - Karate API Tests - Escaping '?' in the url in a feature file
It's clear that the second "sort" param is overriding the first and only one parameter is being added to the URL. I have gone through the Karate documentation, which is very good, but I have not found a way to add multiple parameters with the same name.
So, is there a way in Karate to set multiple URL query parameters with the same name?
Yes you can generate multiple query parameters with the same name in karate
All values of similar key should be provided in an array.
Given path 'v1/orders'
And params {"sort":["order.orderNumber","order.customer.name,DESC"]}
And header Authorization = authInfo.token
And method get
Then status 200
And for setting single parameter using param it will be like
And param sort = ["order.orderNumber","order.customer.name,DESC"]
I need to fetch id parameter from JSON and parse that id value in another request URL. Issue is in JSON i am getting multiple values of id like 6, Etc/UTC etc. I want only integer value to pass.
Please suggest solution for automate this instead of passing value everytime.
You can add regex expression to you JSON expression
$..book[?(#.author =~ /.*REES/i)] All books matching regex (ignore case)
In your case add regular expression for numbers:
=~ /.*(\d+)/i)]
My expectation is that you need to amend your JSON Path query to fetch not all IDs but only the ID(s) which is(are) numeric. Unfortunately without seeing your response and JSON Path query we cannot suggest anything meaningful.
Looking into your response I can only suggest only getting the first numeric ID using JSR223 PostProcessor and Groovy language.
Add JSR223 PostProcessor after the JSON Extractor
Put the following code into "Script" area:
for (int i = 1; i <= (vars.get('id_matchNr') as int); i++) {
def currentVar = vars.get('id_' + i)
if (currentVar =~ '(\\d+)') {
vars.put('someid', currentVar)
break;
}
}
You will be able to access the first numeric ID as ${someid} where required.
I'm creating some tests with JMeter, the situation is very simple, I have a search page with a list of results, and I have to retrieve from this results some values to use in the next request.
Those results are around 350, I don't need them all.
I used the RegexExtractor to retrieve those results and it works (I setted it to retrieve just 10 results), but now I don't know how to access the results inside a LoopCounter.
The extractor put the results into a variable named Result.
The problem is that I don't know hot to build dinamically the name of a variable.
Do I have to use some function like _p()??
I can access the variable just putting the static name Result_0_g1
Inside the LoopCounter I putted also a Counter to store the loop count into the variable index
Thank you
EDIT:
SOLVED I have to write:
${__V(Result_${index}_g1)
You have to reference the variable with the function:
${__V(Result_${index}_g1)
...Just for collection.
See also this post for another implementation (case without using ForEach Controller):
ThreadGroup
HttpSampler
Regex Extractor (variableName = links)
WhileController(${__javaScript(${C} < ${links_matchNr})})
HTTPSampler use ${__V(links_${C})} to access the current result
Counter (start=1, increment=1, maximum=${links_matchNr}, referenceName=C)
Use the ForEach Controller - it's specifically designed for this purpose and does exactly what you want.
You may use ForEach Controller:
ThreadGroup
YourSampler
Regular Expression Extractor (match -1, any template)
Foreach controller
Counter(Maximum -> ${Result_matchNr} , Rf Name -> index)
LinkSamplerUsingParsedData(use -> ${__V(Result_${index}_g1)}
Now, if you want to iterate to all groups, you need another foreach to do that. As you know which group represent what value, you can use this way.
