installing WordNet on Mac - wordnet

I'm trying to install Wordnet 3.0 on my Mac which is OSX 10.8.
I've configured it, but when I try make,
I get a bunch of errors...

I have not made any modification to Makefile, and don't know if I should.
Could anyone please help me out on this?

Using brew is orders of magnitude simpler. Just:
brew install wordnet

The following worked for me to get it to compile:
./configure CFLAGS="-I/usr/X11R6/include -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lX11 -fpermissive" CC=/usr/bin/gcc
then
make
sudo make install
after that it's showing up fine for me in
/usr/local/WordNet-3.0/
I then added WordNet to my $PATH by editing my .bash_profile file, adding the line:
export PATH=/usr/local/WordNet-3.0/bin:$PATH
opening a new Terminal window, I could then type:
$ wn
and see that it's now working fine

Do the following to install WordNet in fastest manner:
Press Command+Space and type Terminal and press enter/return key.
Run in Terminal app:
ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)" < /dev/null 2> /dev/null
...and press enter/return key. Wait for the command to finish.
Run:
brew install wordnet
After installation use 'wn' command in terminal to access the application.

In the folder of your downloaded WordNet package, type:
./configure
make
sudo make install
You need to include "sudo" because normally a user do not have the permission to update the /usr/local folder.

Installing custom kernel in Ubuntu results in error

I am installing linux kernel 5.8.10 in my existing Ubuntu system.
After going all the steps. When I started to install modules by command sudo make modules_install , I found 2 errors.
I can't find any way to solve it. Please help if anyone familiar with this kind of errors.

Installing Apache httpd 2.4.x on AIX 7.1 using xlc

I am installing apache httpd 2.4.x on AIX 7.1 machine using xlc compiler. Make is successful. But make install is failing with the following error

can someone please help.

Unable to compile Riak on Raspberry Pi 3

currenty I'm trying to install Riak on the Raspberry Pi 3 for testing purposes. I used the following instruction from basho:

I'm having problems compiling it from source. I tried to compile it on Raspbian Jessie and then switched to Ubuntu Server 16.04. Both times with the same result. It is not compiling and aborts at a certain point. I don't know what causes the problem since it only says: recipe for target 'util/perf_count.o' failed. Searching Google and the mailing list from basho weren't successful.
The version of gcc is gcc (Raspbian 4.9.2-10) 4.9.2. The version of Erlang is Erlang R16B02_basho8 (erts-5.10.3)
The commands i used are the following:
Installing Erlang:
wget http://s3.amazonaws.com/downloads.basho.com/erlang/otp_src_R16B02basho10.tar.gz
tar zxvf otp_src_R16B02-basho10.tar.gz
cd OTP_R16B02_basho10

Using WiringPi C library through SSH on Netbeans

This is a quite old post, but since I've had the same problem and I've resolved it I'm now writing down the solution, so if someone needs it, it's ready ;)
The only thing to do is to add some parameters to the compilation command, in particular the path to binaries and includes plus the -lwiringpi option.
To do that in NetBeans, rightclick on the project, then properties. From there, Build->C Compiler.
Now, find the voice Additional Options, open it and copy paste the following:
-I/usr/local/include -L/usr/local/lib -lwiringPi
(that are the paths to the standard installation of wiringPi, if you have changed the location of the library change the paths accordingly)
Now it should work, at least it worked for me.

EDIT:
I forgot to add that you must ssh as root user, otherwise wiringPi doesn't work.
For that you must do:
passwd root
to set root password
sudo nano /etc/ssh/sshd_config
And change PermitRootLogin to yes
reboot

How to build hsdis.dll for Windows 32-bit?

I am trying to build hsdis.dll in my laptop 32-bit Windows. I read http://dropzone.nfshost.com/hsdis.htm instructions and got to know that I will have to follow those steps. I saw that I have to use the mingw64-i686-gcc-core. I followed the steps, but have always found this error.

Here are the steps which help me to build it (x64 version, x86 should be almost the same):
download and unpack the latest hsdis sources as described in the building manual from the http://hg.openjdk.java.net/jdk8u/jdk8u/hotspot/tags;
download the latest bintuils-2.26.tar.gz package from the http://mirror.tochlab.net/pub/gnu/binutils/;
copy it to your Cygwin home directory and unpack it from the Cygwin terminal (this is very important, otherwise you may get permission problems):
tar -xzvf ./binutils-2.26.tar.gz
install the following Cygwin packages: mingw64-x86_64-gcc-core for x64 or mingw64-i686-gcc-core for x86, diffutils and make;
go to hsdis directory;
for x64 library build with the command: make OS=Linux MINGW=x86_64-w64-mingw32 'AR=x86_64-w64-mingw32-ar' BINUTILS=~/binutils-2.26 CONFIGURE_ARGS="--host=x86_64-w64-mingw32", for x86 library build with the command: make OS=Linux MINGW=i686-w64-mingw32 'AR=i686-w64-mingw32-ar' BINUTILS=~/binutils-2.26 CONFIGURE_ARGS="--host=i686-w64-mingw32"
if you have errors with undefined references to zlib (i.e. build/Linux-amd64/bfd/libbfd.a(compress.o):compress.c:(.text+0x7e): undefined reference to inflate), modify Makefile in hsdis: find the line $(CC) $(OUTFLAGS) $(CPPFLAGS) $(CFLAGS) $(SOURCE) $(DLDFLAGS) $(LIBRARIES) for the $(TARGET) target and append to the end -lz -L$(TARGET_DIR)/zlib, then run the build command again;
after that you should find the library hsdis-amd64.dll in hsdis\build\Linux-amd64\ for x64, or hsdis-i386.dll in hsdis\build\Linux-i586\ for x86.
