Username:Password vs sftp.site.com - authentication

I'm having issues with using the following format using WinSCP
open sftp://user:password#site.com
vs. this, which works with the console and GUI:
open sftp.site.com.
I would like to automate logging in through the command line but when I try with sftp://user:password#site.com I get a timeout.
Any ideas?

It works fine for me both ways. Is the problem that you are using site.com instead of sftp.site.com in your first example?
Just because you specify the protocol sftp, doesn't mean it will attempt to connect to sftp.site.com when you provide site.com as the host. You still need the full hostname, the sftp:// just tells it what protocol you want to speak once connected.

Can't get connected mode to work in PhpStorm

I'm struggling to get the connected mode to connect to my local instance of SonarQube.
I'm suspecting it has something to do with the way my system is set up.
I'm using a Mac (OS X 10.11.x) and I have PHP and Apache set up according to this tutorial. I think perhaps there is an issue with a firewall rule or something.
When I connect to http://localhost:9000/api/system/status with a browser, there is no problem. telnet localhost 9000 works fine too.
But when I enter credentials and create a configuration in SonarLint, I always get:
error testing connection: Fail to request http://localhost:9000/api/system/status
Anybody have a clue?
It is also worth to check SonarLint issue tracker. Issue looks related rather to the plugin than PhpStorm itself.
Check your Phpstorm log folder ~/Library/Logs/PhpStormVERSION/FILE.log (FILE - some log file for phpstorm, in Intellij it's idea.log)
I see the tutorial you followed enabled SSL and I guess that should be because of a certificate.

cannot connect to genymotion and getting proxy error

I have dowloaded latest version of genymotion with proxy server 2.2.2 and while connecting i am getting invalid reply from server (do you use a proxy?). I am not using proxy for sure. Any ideas?
Answer, its all about the http proxy server on the genymotion settings just UNCHECK on the genymotion setting or remover the http proxy server by UN-ticking the ability to enter HTTP PROXY and PORT let it be blank by unckecking hence login your credentials, if it doesn't work try confirming you email with genymotion.
In my case I went to Settings > Network > I checked "Use HTTP Proxy" and I filled the Http Proxy and port fields (with company proxy valid values).
After that I connect smoothly as silk.
I had the same problem in ubuntu and after some struggle when i was almost giving up i stop the docker (had one instance running in port 3337 in my PC) and for my surprise it's finally work.
I had a similar issue (invalid reply from server without Proxy, on a highly customized and quite broken ubuntu 16.04). nothing of the above helped. (seemingly)
Then I visited this site:
http://qaru.site/questions/835901/genymotion-stuck-on-splash-screen
(well, you have to let google translate it, if you are not russian)
the error described there is completely different. (computer crash resulting in different networking issues)
but it had one thing in common with my case:
everything worked fine, and then suddenly: SOME NETWORKING ERROR - without reason
well, for me, the solution was the same as described on the russian page:
removing a (corrupted?!) conf file.
the conf file was at (my home folder)/.config/Genymobile/Genymotion.conf
i deleted it (i had to do it with root, because the file was owned by root, but this might have been the case because i messed a bit with genymotion...)
Then, i restarted genymotion and logged in again and it worked like a charm.
I had to allow Genymtion.exe in windows firewall. I'm using v3
Had the same problem, managed it using a VPN.

Eve REST Api always returns 404 when not connected via localhost

I followed the Quick Start Guide and setup the /people endpoint.
It's all working fine as long as I just ask the API via 127.0.0.1. So when I try to connect remotely via 192.168.0.206 it's giving me a 404.
I already changed app.run() to app.run(host='0.0.0.0') and I've also tried app.run(host='192.168.0.206') without success.
When running with app.run(host='0.0.0.0') I can connect via localhost but not via the remote Interface.
strace-ing did not helped neither reading the documentation as well :-)
I guess it depends on the SERVER_NAME variable, but can not figure out, what is going on there.
I tried different things there as well like 192.168.0.206:5000, 192.168.0.206, the hostname of the box, 0.0.0.0:5000.
Any suggestions?
Set SERVER_NAME = None, which is the default setting.

Telnet with Bad Request 400

Have a look at the following post:
How to telnet google using command prompt?
I've tried the same thing, but keep getting a Bad Request! (400!) I'm working on a Windows 8 PRO machine. I just want to try a few things using Telnet, but as long as I keep getting this 400-error I can't really achieve much!
All I'm doing is the following:
o www.google.com 80 (PRESSING ENTER TWICE!!!)
GET / HTTP/1.1 (ENTER)
Host: www.google.com (PRESSING ENTER TWICE!!!)
Any help appreciated!
This problem can be solved by typing in the Telnet Commands exactly, so capitalize where needed and vice versa! Check this source for more detailed information on how to setup Telnet as a Instant HTTP Client. The source also explains that once you use a BACKSPACE to retype a command that the server receiving the command may interpret it as
<bs>
and if so, declares it as an illegal request! (This is what happened to me!)
Conclusion
It seems that you can communicate the Backspace-character properly if you have the host and client communicating properly! There's an article here that explains more about it on a technical level. To get this to work for the Windows Telnet Client, I do not know how and I'm not sure whether its possible! To get around this I would like to suggest using a program like PuTTY which is a free (MIT-licensed) Win32 Telnet and SSH client. There's an option available in the PuTTY client that allows you to change how the Backspace is generated in PuTTY, that is, which one is acceptable to you're host (if at all!)!
Please read the documentation section 4.4.1 for configuring this option "properly" (if all hosts are using this protocol; otherwise you probably need to read this article and somehow configure PuTTY to be accepted by you're host or vice versa!)!
Also, in the previous example I used Google which may need other parameters to get that working, but this may not have been the best choice to get a 200-status code immediately! Try bing.com instead (working for me at the moment!)!
o www.bing.com 80 (press ENTER twice!!!)
GET / HTTP/1.1 (press ENTER)
Host: www.bing.com (press ENTER twice!!!)

Red5-Recorder not working

I have done with red5 server installation.everything works fine in server installation..all the demo red5 applications are working perfectly. but I'm getting problem with red5-recorder..I'm getting an ERROR:could not connect to the server rtmp://127.0.0.1 ..Is there any other modification I have to do in the code?
ERROR:could not connect to the server rtmp://127.0.0.1 is caused by
if(Application.application.parameters.server!=null) myRecorder.server= Application.application.parameters.server;
which defaults to nc.connect(myRecorder.server) which returns 127.0.0.1/red5recorder
In order to get around this, you can pass along the server= FlashVar.
Edit red5recorder.html and add this in the appropriate place (after line #91):
"FlashVars", "server=rtmp://your.external.server.ip/red5recorder"
This is because the swf is downloaded and run client side, and needs to connect to your server's RTMP service. It can't connect to 127.0.0.1/red5recorder because that's your PC. This is why you set the server= paramerter. :-)
I hope that helps.
I created a new web app for Red5Recorder as indicates here with the name "red5recorder" because that's the name the recorder use to comunicate with. (see the Recorder.as file in the sources) and after restarted the server it started to work. The output file called "video.flv" is in the streams/ subdirectory.
I hope this helps you.
