How to sync php project between IDEs? - ide

I've been using NetBeans with xampp in windows Desktop. Now I start to learn Flash, as a consequence, I installed Flash Builder for PHP, Zend Server, and Zend Studio in windows laptop. I know I don't need to install those Zend stuffs, but FB provide nice intergration with Zend, So I think it might be more convinent.
Before I fully set my heart on FB+Zend in laptop, I still need to work on my project in NetBeans+xampp in desktop.
How to keep files in sync between the 2 setup? Or, if I am on the wrong path, please shade lights.

Why not using SVN or Git ? You can sync from those kind of repositories using netbeans if i'm not mistaken.

Can't Setup Unreal Engine and Rider for Windows 11

I am tired configuring how to install Rider and setup it up to work
Firstly i installed Visual Studio 2022 with Game Development in C++ Workload
then installed Unreal Engine 5.0.3
then installed Rider 2022.2 and Activated it
then did setup rider as default in source code tab of editor preference in unreal engine
the same solution or say project made in unreal is working fine in visual studio
but i dont know why it shows project load failed
tried everything possible that i could do... like playing with build tools settings etc..
installing different .net framework installing mono etc...installing different version of msbuild etc..
i see it working for everybody... so also clean installed it again but absolutely no luck
just relieve my anxiety by simply providing a workaround to it
I tried everything possible like changing msbuild version .net sdks frameworks etc...but nothing worked
can someone share there settings if they have same setup as i described above
The answer was simple but took me so long to figure out!!!
I have my default display language setup to Hindi the language i use in daily life...but somehow jetbrains was not able to handle the language itself and throwing error...
just changing the display setting made it work flawlessly
but yeah i lost the battle here...as i am bound to use english as a language again as display language...
before i thought i will atleast start digitizing my language by incorporating it into my workflow... but naah odds are against me...anyways will try and succeed one day.

How to instll Siesta Lite on windows 8

We are implementing a project where we need to develop applications in sencha touch and as a tester i will be responsible to test these applications. After some research, I found out that Bryntum's Siesta is the best tool to automate the Manual test cases.
Before we decide to get the license, i just wanted to goof around it a bit so I downloaded the Lite version but I am not able to figure out how to install it on my Windows 8 machine. There isn't any .exe file in the downloaded folder when i extracted it.
Can anyone help me out with this please!
Thanks Already!
There is nothing to install really, since Siesta is just a web based tool (pure HTML, JS and CSS). Just extract into a web server and visit /examples and it will work. Getting started guide here: http://www.bryntum.com/docs/siesta/#!/guide/siesta_getting_started

automate setup of IBM RAD and Websphere

In a project we a forced to use IBM RAD and Webspher Application Server (6.1).
Setting up the development environment is currently described in about 10 pages of wiki documentation and takes about a day if you don't do any mistake. The main parts are:
Installing the IBM Installer;
Use it to install RAD
Install a patch to the Installer;
use it to install half a dozen patches to RAD
create a network drive pointing to ...
checkout project source to ...
install WAS
configure the a WAS instance with two jdbc drivers, 6 datasources, a queue ...
I think you get the idea
I'd like to automate that process (or at lest 95% of it) to something like.
start script x.
On prompt enter a directory with at least yGB of memory available.
Get yourself a cup of coffee
start working.
What are the proper tools to get this working? Should I use something like puppet and chef? Or is that overkill and I can just zip the installation directory and change 2 registry entries?
Has anybody experience with this? Any pointers to get started?
You can script the configuration of WAS using wsadmin:
http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/wasinfo/v6r1/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.websphere.base.doc%2Finfo%2Faes%2Fae%2Fwelc6topscripting.html
It is some effort to learn how to do so but in the end it saves a lot of time. You need to use Jython or Jacl to do so.
WAS profiles can be created headless with a response file. Use manageprofiles.bat in bin directory of WAS to do so.
Regarding RAD installation you can install the IBM Installation Manager version you need to install the patches right away and then install everything in one shot. Add the fixes you need as Repositiories right from the beginning. The fixes will be installed instead of the old versions in this case. You should have the base images and all fixes on the local disk to do so.
The installation of RAD itself can also run in headless mode but I don't have any experience in doing this.
The configuration of the RAD workspace is the next thing you want to automate. This is not so simple to do. The simplest thing you can do is to export the workspace preferences of a workspace that contains all settings to an eclipse preference file (.epf). File -> Export
This is not a complete solution but may help you a bit. Be sure to keep all settings in just one file and import that into a fresh workspace.
Use Notepad++ TextFX plugin to sort the settings in the epf file. You can then figure out which settings you need just by looking at them.
More control over the workspace settings and automated conifiguration requires accessing eclipse internal APIs and some coding.
Regarding the the project sources it depends on the SCM you are using.

Distributing TideSDK application

I recently finished an application based on Titanium, Javascript, HTML, CSS. I have only been a web designer to date so I have little experience in distributing applications. I was accustomed to the TiDev Community deploying app, which prepared the app for download and made it available for download at a given link.
But tidev community is no longer supported, so I use TideSDK Developer to package the app, which doesnt do all the hard work the other one did so nicely.
I am obviously a complete rookie to this.
Could anyone outline the steps I would need to take to go from the bundled application folder I have now (put together by TideSDK Developer), to a link that will allow customers to download and install the app or online? I know there is an issue with packaoging the app for platforms other than your own, and that appcelerator is working on a solution to this I think. I also realise I would probably have to pay to host the download online. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
You must use the tidebuilder.py script. to compile a installation package. To compile a binary for a Mac, you must run the script on a Mac, to compile a binary for windows, you must be on a windows box etc.
There is some documentation on how to use it here per platform. The command is very simple and works.
Once you have your application file (DMG for OSX or a MSI for Windows) then just distribute it however you see fit, email, putting it on your web server, whatever works for you.

Can I develop an application on Windows intending to deploy it to OSX?

I'm looking to create an application that will be executed on a Mac machine, but I don't have one to develop on. I thought this would be a great opportunity to try and take advantage of the Mono runtime. I'm trying to figure out how to develop on a Windows XP machine and prepare a deployment package for an OSX machine.
I'd like to try and make the application have a UI since my users are not very technical. Is MonoDevelop the right tool to accomplish this? Should I be trying to use Windows Forms or GTK#?
Yep , you should use mono on windows directly with GTK# , but you'll need a few tweaks on mac so you'll need a mac eventualy. Your users will have to install the mono framework on their computer too, mono doesnt produce native Mac applications.
I love mono but if the end users are not very technical I dont think it is the right solution.
Anyway , the only way to develop some real multiplatform apps is Java, since it is pre installed on Macs so users will not have to download a framework to launch your apps.
