I would like to know if the WCF version for monotouch is stable or not. Do you have any info?
Thank in advance. Regards. L.
It's experimental, so not fully supported.
I have used it in a big application in the past though, and for the most part everything worked perfectly. You need to use the Silverlight proxy generator, but everything works ok. I found a few bugs along the way, and the MonoTouch team was just great in getting those fixed as soon as possible. This was almost a year ago, so my guess is that things are probably in a better shape now.
If you really need to so webservices (instead of simple http calls), I would suggest you give it a try, before disregarding it. You'll see that unless you need very very specific things, everything really works well.

I am kinda of a new user here and don't have enough reputation points to comment/ask on this question: IDE support for Hack Lang.
So, I am hoping that since the last entry provided by Themis Beris someone has been able to get PHPStorm working properly with Hack. I followed the 3 steps described in the post I mentioned, but still get compile-time errors on the classes I've written using Hack. <?hh is not recognized, for instance.
Any suggestions as to how to get PHPStorm playing nice with Hack?
I have no idea what Themis Beris is talking about on the linked question. (He seems to be saying something about PHPUnit, which is a completely separate issue.)
JetBrains has a feature request open for Hack support and last I heard was very actively working on it. But as of this writing (Feb 2015) it's not released yet.
I have a tweak with hooks to an app (tweak1)
The tweak is supposed to use a framework to execute some code.
Unfortunately within iOS7 I'm unable to do that.
However when the same code is executed in a separate tweak (tweak2) with hooks to springBoard, it runs just fine.
My question is possible for me to send a dictionary from the first tweak (tweak1) to tweak2 so it gets executed.
I think I need to use CPDistributedNotificationCenter. But not sure.
If that's the case, a helping suggestions or example would be greatly appreciated.
many thanks
CPDistributedNotificationCenter should work or you could just use NSDistributedNotificationCenter. It inherits from NSNotificationCenter, which we all know how to use.
Another solution I can suggest is CFMessagePort, which I'm using in my apps. I need to support iOS 4, which doesn't support NSDistributedNotificationCenter, so I ended up using CFMessagePort. It differs from notification model in that you can't send messages to everyone. You can only send messages between two known ports. But in your case it probably doesn't matter.
There is also the XPC API but I've never used it and can't say much about it. It's an IPC API so it should work. Many iOS components use it.
I've gone through all steps in tutorial on IIS Website, how create my own custom Ftp Logging/Authentication Provider. Unfortunately, it doesn't work still. What can I do?
I've been struggling with this problem for past few days. And I finally got it.
Sometimes it doesn't work at all. Sometimes, it works for a while and suddenly, after few changes in code [or somewhere else] it stops and you can't find out what happened [that was in my case].
To solve my problem [and, I believe, many others] helps me this article:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/robert_mcmurray/archive/2012/08/28/troubleshooting-custom-ftp-providers-with-etw.aspx
It's pretty hard to google, but value of tool from article is enormous.
I hope you can find and solve your problem with it, too.

I'm trying to write a game with support for Joypads as well as mouse/keyboard. I've tried finding information about that, but it's either outdated or not portable enough.
Does anybody know of any good, lightweight libraries that can abstract Joypad reading? I want to use the 360 controller, but I would like support for more than that.
I'm primarily going to be writing on Windows, but I really don't want to use DirectInput/XInput, in case I ever wish to port my code.
Have you ever tryied OIS (Object Oriented Input System)? An efficient and light weight library.
I am very satisfied with it.
I have never tried with the 360 controller, but it should work fine.
This maybe an older question and is already answered but..
Someone on tigsource made a lightweight cross-platform gamepad library
that you might find useful.
You can view the post on it here.
What about SDL?
Maybe it's not what you mean by lightweight (it has the graphic and audio subsystems too), but it's very portable.
I know this thread is very old and by now you might have gotten what you need, but im answering this just in case someone stumbles on it and needs help as well.
I stumbled upon this library gainput and it seems like it makes alot of sense. You can try it out, if it helps.
Gainput is a lightweight c++ library, that enables you use the same interface for Joypads, macs, pc, linux as well as mobiles, and it is very easy to integrate to your project.
A link to gainput can be found here (http://gainput.johanneskuhlmann.de/)
